Thank god for this studio…read more I "retired" from dance and gymnastics about 5 years ago or so. I was always nervous to go back. Afraid I was too old. Afraid I wouldn't be good enough anymore. Afraid I wouldn't have time etc. etc. This place is so welcoming. It really has a family feel. A lot of the kids, adults and teachers have been there for years and they are more then open to allowing others join the fam : ) I feel good about myself because of the encouragement I have received from Nichole and Byron (tumbling and jazz teachers) They are fun and make coming after a long day of work exciting for me. It's nice to feel that I have nothing to be afraid of anymore, a lot in due part to the environment, schedule and variety of classes offered.

When one of my girls started ballet/tap, she was scared of the tap noise and Veronica found a class that fit better for her. Then this past year she joined ballet/tap and loved it. There's a class for everyone and every level. My girls have taken hip hop, jazz, ballet, and tap and enjoyed all styles. Also, the recitals are a big professional production. It's so amazing to see the kids perform on stage and build confidence. My daughter performed with EDA at the Alameda County Fair this past summer and it was so exciting for her. With young girls, they are a Godsend and very well thought-out to reduce drama and increase the time the instructors have to teach the girls, which is what they should be doing. I wish Lori started a consulting company and taught other organizations how to run a business smoothly because there are several other kids/teens activities we have been involved in that I have wished had her policies! After 10 years, I can tell you that Lori loves the girls and everything she does is for them first. Her own daughters went through the studio, so she knows what parents and kids want and she does everything possible to make that happen. The result for us has been a lot of great friends and great memories at events, competitions, Disneyland, a cruise, Europe, and charity performances everywhere. And still the kids have the ability to do other activities because Lori even works closely with the local high schools' dance, cheer, and leadership departments. Can't recommend Next Step enough! He tailors the workouts to fit my specific goals and fitness level. He also put me on a diet plan suited to my dietary needs (vegetarian) with the goal to reduce weight, lose body fat and start building muscle mass.
