I ordered a club sandwich and Pooh ordered the South Beach burger. My sandwich was good: the bacon was crispy and a lot of chicken. What I didn't like was the mayonnaise was on the side. For me a club sandwich comes with mayo inside not little mayonnaise packets on the side. If someone doesn't want the mayonnaise inside they can say "mayonnaise on the side " Pooh's burger was very tasty but everything was falling out because it was overloaded with ingredients. As Pooh said, "I shouldn't have to work to eat my lunch" Our server was pleasant

We circled around and on our second attempt we found a spot. The restaurant itself was were cozy, and had a friendly, country-style vibe. The menu is extensive so take our time looking it over Pooh had spinach and mushroom eggs Benedict and I took the vegetarian skillet. Both of us had a side of bacon. Pooh really enjoyed his Benedict, the sauce was on side so you add as much or as little sauce as you wanted. The plate was garnished with a nice beefeater tomato. The vegetarian skillet was great! Not too many potatoes which I enjoyed. Plus a side of baked beans - not too sweet - and beefeater tomatoes The bacon was crispy - bonus points for that!

This was my second visit to L'Avenue Mont-Royal. This place is already in my "Top 10" Collection;…read moreif I were actually ranking those places, L'Avenue would certainly move up in the standings after visit #2. That was due in part to some new breakfast options since last time, which I'll file under "Ridiculously decadent and delicious." This time, for me, that was their "Indecisive" breakfast option including the Dubai Chocolate French Toast. Since my last visit, I've also switched from coffee to tea, and my order included English Breakfast. I was wondering why it took so long to arrive, my thought was, "It's just hot water and a tea bag." Bzzzt, wrong! I was actually brought a heavy duty porcelain teapot with the English Breakfast leaves steeping, and they did not deliver it until it was ready. Well done!! For me, no trip to Montreal is complete without a visit to at least one L'Avenue restaurant (yes there are more!)

We stopped here for Sunday brunch…read more It is a small family run place: mum in the kitchen, dad out front with their son up from Montreal for the weekend to help out. We didn't see mum, but the son and dad were super friendly. The food was everything you would expect for Sunday brunch. Nothing super fancy but we were certainly not disappointed. The only minor complaint was that they took ages to clear the tables.Their focus was on the customers that were already there rather than clearing the way for more. When we sat down they cleared our table fast enough, and then we had lots of great serviec, but it was almost like they waited till someon sat down before they bothered. We'll be back.
