The rice have a creamy taste (my opinion). I order the garlic rice. It's the best garlic jasmine rice I've had. The crushed sautéed walnuts are scattered throughout the dish. The walnuts add that extra layer of goodness. The vegan Thai tea is by far the best Thai tea I've ever had! I have to pace myself because I'm trying to watch my calories lol. If you're ever at vegan playground on Wednesdays or Fridays be sure to check them out. The owner is absolutely the sweetest person. She Always has a smile on her face and make you feel welcomed.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have this in a vegan option & not sacrifice the dynamics of taste & texture! I found it! **I found this spot at a vegan food event in West Hills called "818VeganCollective." Lots of incredible food options from savory to sweet, & items that are supporting local, conscious businesses** I had the Pineapple, Walnut Shrimp Bowl with a yummy garlic rice, drizzled with an amazing sauce & topped with a beautiful orchid! The crispy crunch of the shrimp was PERFECT! Unbelievably well done! There was a little bit of a wait, but it was most certainly worth it! They had so many tasty looking options that I look forward to trying like Orange Shrimp & the "beef" Lok Lac. All of the patrons seemed really enthused about their dishes, but my belly only had room for one! I look forward to sinking my teeth into all of them!

They are flexible and can accommodate small or big parties. Without exception, EVERY party I have hired them to cater (which is around 8 by this point) contains meat eaters who are blown away and say "If I could eat like THIS everyday then I could easily be vegan". Mouth-watering vegan foods that are jam-packed with flavors and textures…read more We first tried S+M Vegan last year at Eli's Mile High Club during their weekly Tuesday pop-ups and have been loyal customers ever since. With the Covid-19 events, they've switched over to weekly meal pickups in Oakland -- you can preorder Wednesday and pick up on Friday. Here is a review from their last pop-up in March: Tahu Goreng (Friend Tofu + Tamarind-Peanut Sauce + Scallions + Pickled Chilies + Crunchy Veggies) - The most addicting appetizer tofu dish I have ever had. I ordered this to share with my husband and could barely even give him one bite of it because I wanted it all for myself! It's the perfect balance of spiciness and fermentation funk. Combo Sambal Mee (Fresh Flat Rice Noodles + Chewy Wheat Noodles Stir Fried with Sambal Belacan + Yuba + Tofu Puffs + Veggies + Wonton Chips + Lime) - I'm obsessed with this noodle dish. I've had a few of S+M Vegan noodle plates in the past, but this one blows the others out of the water. The toppings/proteins are plentiful and your mouth will have a party with all the different textures in every bite. You'll definitely want to pay extra for the vegan cheese because when has cheese ever let you down. Shaobing Sandwich #25 (Banana Leaf Grilled Coconut and Spice Seitan + Sambal Belacan + Cilantro + Onion + Cucumber + Fresh Baked Sesame Crusted Flatbread) - This is a big boy sandwich. You'll definitely need a knife to cut this in half because it is packed to the max full of seitan and toppings! If you've never had their freshly baked sesame bread, these sandwiches will turn you into a believer. You'll be coming back every week as we do for those sesame seed crumbs! Guide all your meat-loving friends towards their sandwiches. Pandancing In the Moonlight (Pandan + Coconut + Lime + Blanco Tequila) - Who can deny the pairing of pandan and coconut? Cocktail pairings that were made with the menu in mind round out the entire dinner. Will definitely be coming back for this one! Also, their website is now http://smvegans.com/ and you can see all the behind the scenes of their cooking on their IG https://www.instagram.com/smveganchefs/

I've had the pleasure of eating S+M Vegan twice now and it has impressed me both times! :)…read more My first experience with S+M was at Vegan Street Fair Nights. I think I ordered everything on their menu. Tempted to order one of everything (again), we controlled ourselves and got... - Savoy Pizza (creme fraiche, potato, arugula) http://bit.ly/2g75PxW - Fried Panella Sandwich (chickpea fritters & slaw) http://bit.ly/2hZYnFo Ummm...YUM! I couldn't even tell you my favorite part about that dinner because I loved every bite of it!!! This past weekend they did a popup at Yorkshire Brewery but sadly I couldn't go. I hope they do more pop ups. I'd follow them anywhere :)

I'm passionate about good food and Tukda truly does justice to your Indian maa-ke-haath-ka-khana…read morecravings. And that too in a much sustainable manner. There are ton of Indian restaurants around, but every time I devour the all-time-favorite chicken tikka masala or any other greasy Indian preparations, the happiness is fairly short-lived, and ends the very moment I step out of the restaurant. Remember those sumptuous but sinful gastronomic adventures when you could feel (and hear) all sort of chemical reactions inside your belly and which all of us "most definitely" regret later. That's where Tukda stands out & trumps every other Indian restaurant in & around LA region. This is sort of comfort food you can have 3 times a day (or even 4 for foodies like me), 365 days, without regretting it the slightest bit. It's lip-smacking yummilicious, healthy & much lighter on your body (for those calorie-conscious foodies out there). Vada pav, the so-called Indian burger, is to die for... drooling as I'm typing this review.. burp !! :) If you are catering for a corporate event, or a party or just a friendly get together, I highly recommend ordering from Tukda. And those of you who yearn for healthy home-cooked food, and not-a-fan-of-cooking-everyday, do try their lunchbox service. Am sure this would be one the best decisions for which your tummy, and body, would thank you forever :) Try it out for yourself & am sure the feelings would be mutual !

I am quite shell shocked on how everyone has given 5 stars for the food here. I tasted food from…read moreTukda at my friend's daughter's birthday party. We ordered the below items Paneer masala, Pulao, Potato shots, Rotis Paneer masala - this tasted like a curry made by a person who is learning how to cook. There was no flavor, spices or salt in the dish. Potato shots - this was ok but became soggy. I did like this with the tamarind chutney compared to the others but definitely not the best. There was no green chutney Rotis - these were the thickest rotis i have eaten but I can tolerate them. Pulao - this was the worst. There was absolutely no flavor and it was like eating plain rice. I had mistaken it for lemon rice without salt. We did reach out to the owners and they insisted that we should have added extra salt as needed. Now, why would anyone order food from a caterer if they had the time to taste, add salt and make corrections??? This is not how a business should reply to feedback from customers. Less salt is understandable but no salt is just plain ridiculous. I usually have a wide tolerance when it comes to taste but this was just inedible. It spoiled the whole party. I would strongly suggest people ordering from this place to sample the food first.

Healthy Vegan Soul…read moreFood, including international dishes with strong flavors that make you "crave" another bite has made me a big believer in Vegan food as an option & I'm not Vegan! Thanks, Chef Dahm! Soulistic Caribbean Bowl: Rocks my world every single time, it's the Jamaican Jerk seasoning of it all, makes me want to dance about it! Haha! I've ordered plenty! The hard-hitting flavor & juicy chopped pieces from the chopped jerk is an absolute must-taste & my favorite!! With nearly each bite, my eyes slightly close, because whatever spices added sends my mind into a whirlwind! The texture is firm & hearty like actual meat. Insider Secret: When I asked Chef Dahm about the secret to the bite, though he wouldn't reveal it all (I tried! Haha!), he did mention the use of mushrooms to create a familiar texture. Each chopped slice is uniquely seasoned & full-on yum! Drive-Up: Recently, I placed my order online via the link at the Soulistic Food bio on Instagram. Ordered a Soulistic Burger & added Chop'D BBQ. Received a text when my order was ready, drove up to the concierge & was directed to pickup at K10. At the cute little intercom system, I hit the buzzer & Chef Dahm appears w/food in hand. Catering/Private Chef/Meal Plan: After experiencing Soulistic Food at events: Fun event at the Black Dahlia House(phones/cameras were not allowed), family Christmas event of 17 people & several orders on his meal plan, I'm amazed each time of the mouthwatering flavors of his dishes, introduction to new food & his laidback professionalism! Seeing reaction of non-Vegan eaters experience his food & can't believe it's not meat is hilarious! Haha! Overall: Chef Dahm's enthusiasm, focus & love for creating crave-able Vegan dishes for all, as well as commitment to introducing healthy dishes as an option to change lives, adds even more unique flavor to each dish he creates. Soulistic Food is always a great idea, flavor that I crave & keeps me coming back for more! Let's go!

The food was a hit. Two women at the brunch described the jerk chicken as "crack" it was so good. I had never tried oxtails before but people were raving so much I had to give it a shot, and it was delicious. I didn't get to try the plantains because I was cleaned out before I had the chance, which is a good sign that they were delicious. Sandra was communicative and sweet. Several people at the brunch asked for the caterer's contact information, so I'm sure she'll get some additional business. The only issue was that they were a little late, although I'm sure the weather had something to do with it. But to be safe, maybe request delivery 1/2 hour before you actually need it. :)
