Dr. Duffy, Angelo Davis and Dr. Christina Cassel never listen to or understand a word you say. They make their own assumptions, misdiagnose and give you meds that are completely wrong and have horrible side effects. I gave them chance after chance, and all I got was blatant patient abandonment, complete disregard for the damages they caused. Dr. Cassel had me on over 20 pills a day, never ever re-evaluated my meds according to lab work, she's so lazy, just stole my energy for over 2 years and left me to a point where I actually began to plan my way out of this miserable existence. I don't even want to eat anymore. But I guess that just leaves more food for "Dr." Cassel who needs every crumb from your mouth to keep her 600 pound physique. And I can say that because she straight up caused damage to my health on every level...to the point that I just wanted to die to get relief. May they get back in return, what they give out, ten-fold. When I was 12 my mom took me to Dr Duffy for my ADHD no exaggeration I was drooling when my mom looked up the meds it was a horse tranquilizer. He then soon after changed locations and started working at a location also know as premier psychiatric now known as alivation. I came here thinking it was new and that Dr Duffy had been out of business due to past overdoses in my family and friends. I had no choice but to meet with him my first appointment I told him my 20mg of Adderall was too much when I took it before my previous pregnancy and so he gave me Vyvanse 30mg. All my therapist did was talk about her own political views, her new puppy, how she now had to live with her aunt and uncle out in the middle of western Nebraska, and that all her appointments were by telehealth. I went to her for about, a year and she seemed to be OK but still continued to talk about herself most of the time. Once in a while, I would actually get answers to my own questions, but when she started to address her own political views I had had enough. She and I had differing opinions, and when I told her it made me anxious, she simply continued to talk about how she disagreed with me. That was it. I told her I thought these appointments were supposed to be about me and told her I had had enough and I hung up. I did call the office manager and reported her. However, I made another appointment with another therapist, but that visit only lasted once with one therapist and she left. The practice . Now I have my third therapist appointment next week we'll see how it goes. I've already met with my medication specialist, which is different. I've never been offered that kind of treatment and I've been going to see them for years. If this therapist doesn't work out, I'll never go to them again. I may be an idiot for staying with them so long, but Dr. Duffy did such a wonderful job diagnosing my dad. read more

at first i wasnt the biggest fan of Duffy, but I came around when he lightened up a bit. the main problem is this place has to many patients to get much time to get into problems unless it's in therapy. but a lot of these reviews are way to harsh, clearly none of u have worked healthcare, and especially dont know how to advocate for urselves. it was very easy for me to say when i did not want to be on a medication or if something felt wrong with my care and they listened quickly. i get some of u have anxiety but u have to tell them when theres a problem, not cry on yelp.... read more

Used to go here for psychiatric treatment, came back 3 years later for TMS, and I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of care here. The office is cold and institutional without offering the help of qualified doctor. You never actually talk about what is going on they just prescribe you medication. AVOID THIS PLACE! Just an embarrassment of an establishment. I would rate it 0 stars if that were possible. Enjoy a nice list of why you should avoid this place. (I could've kept going but it's already pretty long) 1. Worst customer service. I've worked enough customer service jobs myself to know that these jobs aren't pleasant, but that doesn't mean you treat your customers as awful as you possibly can. They are extremely mean, and will insult you and hang up on you over the smallest things. They will shame you for asking questions, and will insult you and your mental health and your financial situation and pretty much everything else. I've never met so many hateful and disrespectful people in my life until I went here. 2. No one answers you. You can call and wait 20-40 minutes for someone to answer, just to be transferred to someone else who never picks up and never calls back. Good luck getting anything figured out or any questions answered beyond the simplest of questions. 3. Prices. Their prices are ridiculously high already, but then they will push you and harass you to try their treatment methods that are thousands of dollars. It doesn't matter if you say no, they will keep harassing you. They also try to make you schedule as many appointments as possible whether you need them or not, and even their appointments for a simple refill are 2-3x higher than anywhere else I've been. 4. Their turnover rate. Good luck keeping your doctor here for over 3 months. Everyone leaves and everyone quits. 5. They don't care about you. The appointments I had considering my medication plans were literally 5 minutes long if not less. The doctors were always late, and would show up and do the appointment as quick as possible and would barely ask any questions in order to end the appointment. Oh, and these appointments cost about $150-$200 for 5 minutes of their so-called counseling. If I said I was feeling worse, any and every "solution" they offered was either more pills or their "amazing" treatment options that cost thousands of dollars. 6. Everything is YOUR fault here. They will blame you, they will shame you, they will insult you, they will tell you everything is your fault. I have so much more I could say, but we'll stop here for now. I have been going to Alivation Health for 15 years. I started seeing Dr. Duffy at that time. I have severe depression and extremely high anxiety with severe panic disorder. He is the only Dr. I found in Lincoln to deal with anxiety and panic disorder. I had a psychiatrist in Lincoln tell me no Dr. works on just severe anxiety. He put me on generic Zoloft after I told him I was allergic to it. On the initial paperwork and to his face. He did not care. I ended up at the emergency room for the night. I never went back then he sent me a bill saying I didn't pay all that I owed after I paid for the visit at the time of the appointment. I took the bill and wrote on it. Would you like a lawsuit and told them what happened, I never received another bill from them. Then I found Dr. Duffy and he saved me. He helped me with my prescriptions and doses. Definitely helped me with my anxiety and panic disorder. Improved my depression. Then they came out with TMS it was offered to me and I said no. Then I talked to a few people and since my insurance covered a good portion of it I decided to do the treatments, I am so glad I did. I am no longer anxious, panic-stricken, or depressed. It was the best thing to ever happen to me. I am so glad that I did it. I feel like a new person and have for the last two years. Yeah! Now I want to save the money to do it for focuses and energy. It really works and does not hurt one bit. I think that people don't want to give it a chance, or maybe afraid it will hurt. Could be they just can't get there every day for 6 weeks. Was a patient there because my was a good and real doctor moved there. Now he is with them they milk you for as much money as possible. String out appointments to as many as possible by doing 1 test then have you come back for the results then have you come back for another test, and come back for results, and so on. Racked up a bill that i was paying as much as i could and then they refused to see me till i paid in full. Im a diabetic and they refused me medication and told me that if i wanna live pay the bill in full. Im sorry but they need shut down because the are more than fine endangering their customers... i mean patients. The day they treated me this way i was trying to make a $100 payment as i usually do and they refused it and said i has to call their collections and pay in full. This is not healthcare, Dr. Duffy does not care at all about the patients health, he just wants your money. I started going there in 2013 and have had multiple therapists and doctors due to high turnover. I'm almost positive I'm being overmedicated. However, when I asked to be taken off or doses lowered due to how I've been feeling I was prescribed more instead. I was told I was at the maximum dose of a certain drug and needed something added to boost its effectiveness. After being on the meds for awhile I started crying almost daily for no reason. I called the office and got a voice message stating go leave a message and they would get back to me within 24 hours. Since I didn't feel this was a true emergency I left my information and waited for a call back which I finally got 9 days later. Meanwhile I stopped taking the new med I was prescribed. Another issue I have with them is their EEG tests, they say it is important to have done so they can monitor any changes. I agreed to the first two, but they now want a 3rd, I said no. I was also advised to start getting Botox injections for my migraines. Again, I said no. They do everything they can to get more money and seem to diagnose you with more issues than you might have. After talking with my primary physician, it is believed that they have my diagnosis wrong. I've been looking for another mental health doctor who takes my insurance but haven't had any luck finding one accepting new patients. If you're looking for a mental health provider, skip this office. You can be assured you made the right decision by looking elsewhere. read more

I will never darken their doorstep again. Our visit was basically $335.59 down the drain. After trying several doctors and treatments, we decided to schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist for our son, hoping to get more specialized help for his ADHD. We had received a referral from our son's OT to Dr. Duffy (with the disclaimer that some people liked him and others did not). We arrived at the time of our appointment and filled out the required paperwork, all the standard first visit questions. After waiting 45 minutes past our scheduled time, I asked the person at the front desk about the reason for our wait. She said she would check on things, and within a few minutes we were called to go back. We didn't meet with Dr. Duffy at first, but a Dr. Waris. As he was entering our son's initial information into their system, another person from the office came into the room and interrupted us, asking for help with a computer problem. Dr. Waris left us sitting there as he helped his coworker in another room for several minutes. This was completely unprofessional behavior, both on the part of the coworker and Dr. Waris. When he returned, I informed him that I was not happy with the service we had received so far and that our time was valuable as well, to which I received a rather weak apology. Before coming to Alivation we had, via our pediatrician, completed a genetic test that looked at medicines that would be compatible for our son. We brought this with us for the doctor to use in our initial visit. After looking at the results of the test, Dr. Ware asked if our son struggled with anxiety, to which we said, "No." He then went on to recommend an antipsychotic drug, not generally used for ADHD, to help with anxiety. Hadn't we just told him our son didn't struggle with this? Then Dr. Duffy arrived, and he also looked over the genetic test we had brought. After briefly reviewing the information, he wrote a prescription for a medication we were already using, with the only change was to raise the dosage to 3 mg (from 1) and a recommendation to take it at a different time of day. We walked away completely dissatisfied with our visit. When we left a message with our pediatrician letting her know of the recommendation for the change in dosage, she called us back personally to let us know that she would not have referred us to this office, as most of her patients leave there dissatisfied and with more problems than they arrived. I also called their accounting department to discuss the visit and to inform them I wasn't pleased with the service we had received. After several days, calls, and messages, I was finally able to talk to the person in charge of the accounting department. She was unwilling to budge. So now we have received a bill for that visit of $335.59. I'm letting you know readers this is what our experience was and we will not be back. Avoid this place, look elsewhere! read more

This place has ruined my health. For two years I have had abnormal liver function tests. No one told me. After each lab I asked if liver and kidney function tests were normal. Due to many more things that have happened, I asked for a copy of my medical records. It took almost 30 days to get them. I was lied to as to when they were mailed and kept having to call to finally get the right answer. All - about - the - money. I don't know how this place gets away with what they do. You have to wait so long before you see a "student PA" that they have you do a pointless survey on how you're feeling that they don't even look at anyway. In fact, they even told me to change my answers once so TMS would be approved. They push and push and push TMS every single time. I finally gave in once as they said insurance would cover pretty much all of it, but that wasn't the case. They push a new medication on you every time so that you have to come in for follow up visits every month. I finally had to say no multiple times to new prescriptions, but they would send them to the pharmacy anyway and even if I didn't pick that medication up, they would make me come for the follow up anyway. My Dr. use to be independent but hooked up with this group of crooks' I use to go every 3 months but as soon as he joined Alivation Health I now needed to go every month for a blood draw on the 1st. then get the results a week later Getting billed for 2 office calls, After 6 month's I told my Dr. I was being bled dry and I couldn't afford this any longer and he told me if my meds didn't need adjustment I could cancel the second appointment, well wouldn't you know it they needed to see me and the first word out of his mouth when he came in the room were everything looks super we aren't going to adjust any meds. The worst decision my former doctor ever made was joining forces with this crooked outfit.almost two years later still fighting this crooked business. I had my family seeing my medical doctor all the while they where billing my insurance under the name premier psychiatric group for psych services. We were never there for psych services. The co pay for psych is much higher. They send me bills i talk to the office manager, she keeps blaming insurance, she promises to het to the bottom of it. I've been going to this place for several years since a teen. As an adult, I do not recommend this place. TMS treatment did wonders for me, BUT there's a lot wrong with how this business works. 1. You spend more time with an intern than an actual doctor. The doctor sees you for only a minute or two. 2. Medication is pushed and pushed so much that you feel like you're not listened to. 3. Really expensive. When I called to pay what amount I could, I was told "no $220 minimum amount." Funny because bills can't be sent to collections as long as money is being paid. After insurance paid what they "can pay" for treatment, our bill was several $1,000s of dollars. 4. Appointments are made for tests, another for results, and they push monthly tests. After TMS I felt 100% better but they wanted me to come in MONTHLY for EEG's. I said no. They tried persuading me but not for the amount of debt I was in due to that huge ass bill. read more

Alivation Health is awesome.I was severely depressed 1 year ago but with Dr. Duffy's help I have come back to NORMALCY.His staff is excellent.The only thing I would recommend would be a functional medicine nutritionist and chiropractor. Dr.Firnhaber in Lincoln Ne.is a functional medicine dr.who specializes in this area.I do believe that we are what we eat and part of overcoming my depression is due to the fact that I changed my diet and I also try to get at least 30 min. of aerobic exercise daily. Alivation is 'all about the money.' Staff 'up-sell' the services offered there. Staff make promises they don't keep. Everything has to be done w/ an appointment, even if it's only 5mins. to answer a question & no medical procedure is involved. Ck'g to see if something is covered by insurance doesn't get done until after other appointments have been made -- then you find out your insurance won't cover what you're being charged for + the cost of the other office visits. They make a big deal about their financial aid package, but in the end it doesn't cover enough of the bill to be practical. Tests they said would be free due to 'special arrangements' turn out costing $95. By the time I got answers about my insurance coverage, their tests, their costs & their financial aid, they had already charged me over $500 & had made future appointments for me they knew my insurance would not cover. Their financial aid & 'special discount' only cut $200 from my bill. read more

I initially started seeing the doctors at Alivation about 3 years ago, because they were the only clinic anywhere near me who accepted my insurance and were accepting new patients. I live in Omaha and have been traveling to Lincoln for doctor's visits every one to two months. After every visit, I would immediately pick up my medications from their pharmacy located in their lobby. Everything had been fine up until a few months ago. I got a new insurance policy, did not understand all of it, which is my fault. However, Alivation had been overcharging me for my visits! Instead of offering me a check, they offered to let me use the money I had already paid towards future visits. Life happens, people make mistakes, so I went along with it. Last month I went in for a visit only to find out whomever I had spoken with in scheduling HAD NOT SCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT. Instead of trying to squeeze me in, when all I needed was a doctor's visit to refill my medications, Alivation turned me away. Luckily for me, I had refills at the pharmacy, so I didn't have to go through withdrawals. Also, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to have refills of Adderall, but that's another story. I scheduled another appointment and was unable to go, because I'm a poor college student who works and my work schedule did not allow for it. I called today to schedule another appointment and was told that because I didn't make my last appointment, I was not allowed to schedule an appointment, I would need to come in during their walk-in hours. I was told, "...this policy is in place to help with accountability." I've missed a few appointments within the last few years, but not enough to warrant this. What is Alivation doing to combat their own lack of accountability in regards to overcharging me and turning away a sick client because of poor scheduling practice? THE ANSWER IS NOTHING. In conclusion, this place has gone downhill as of 2018. I thought Alivation was worthy of my money and time, but I was wrong. I am going to find a psychiatrist in Omaha and be done with this. I am also really confused as to why a doctor's office would have such poor customer service. I have worked in customer service driven fields, some of which only paid minimum wage, and I would never treat people this way. Also, is it not counter productive to be rude to the mentally ill? I went to Alivation as they were the only psychiatric care in my area that I knew of. Being new to mental health care and it's providers I felt like they did a great job at first. They got me started on some medications that once started could not be stopped with out a weening period or there would be adverse effects. The meds worked so I wasn't going to complain. I just had to do a med check once every three months to get my prescriptions refilled and that fit my work, Family and social schedule very well. When Covid came around Alivation no longer allowed me to be seen every three months instead they forced me to be seen every four weeks and held my medication refills as hostage as they will not allow a refill with out charging me for an office visit or a telehealth visit. My healthcare no longer felt optional or voluntary. I feel that Alivation is shamefully using the epidemic to force a money grab on a lot of their patients by scheduling them against their will far more frequently then they need to be scheduled and holding medications as their leverage to get extra appointments. This is not a situation I enjoy being in and it's not a situation that I ever thought I would be in. I would recommend if you can, take your business elsewhere where your healthcare can be more voluntary and cooperative read more

Dr. Duffy will then persuade you into every expensive test they have to offer (and even charge you $50 to put a swab in an envelope and mail it). This IS A BUSINESS NOT A HEALTH CARE CLINIC!! The doctors are more interested in making money to pay for this fancy new facility and line their pockets instead of actually helping their patients. Dr. Duffy is constantly trying to up-sell patients to pay for genetic testing and EEGs, both of which he was not honest about the out of pocket cost (I was told the genetic testing was $50 and it ended up being $300). So I switched to Dr. Beals, whom I was trusting of when I first started. But after several months of constantly trying to treat any side effects of my base medication with other medications, I've reached my limit. I have a diagnosis of adult ADHD, and the medication prescribed caused side effects...for which he kept prescribing more medications instead of a different type of ADHD med without those side effects. Not to mention, the EEG also read that this med was not effective for me, but he chose to keep using it, so I would have to come in every month for a follow up appointment, so he could push more meds, and another bill. Not good practice!! Also, do not use the online bill pay option, as they will LOSE YOUR PAYMENT. If I could give 0 stars I would because they don't provide care...they just want the monthly appointments and monthly payments to keep coming in. read more

This feels more like a factory than a clinic. After three years at this clinic, my regular nurse practitioner left. Since then, every time I come in, I see someone different, usually a student/intern/trainee. After my last visit, I was told that I was being put on probation because I had missed three appointments in 1 year (2 of which I called to reschedule in advance due to illness). Probation meant that: 1) instead of coming every other month to get medication refills, I would now need to come every month; 2) I would not be allowed to schedule appointments, only attend clinic walk-in hours M-F between 8AM and 9AM where I may or may not be seen; and 3) this probation would last 6 months. As I have classes and work starting at 8 AM everyday, this wasn't a feasible option and having missed/rescheduled three appointments in a year before, this was the first time I was ever put on a 6 month probation. I tried to express this to the intern, but she said it was Dr. Duffy's policy so I had to talk with him directly (he wasn't around). This occurred when I had been a patient at this clinic for four years and I found it incredibly anti-patient care to take punitive action against a patient that has been faithfully visiting this clinic for four years, to "prove attendance" (to use the words of the intern). This clinic is concerned with numbers, money and research. Patient care is secondary. If you'd like to visit a clinic where no one will ever know your name and you will be treated more like a commodity than a person, this is the clinic for you. read more
