After searching endlessly and fruitlessly for weeks online for someone who could make exactly what I wanted, accept payment internationally, and deliver it to my BF, I messaged Mama Bear's, and the owner is an absolute ANGEL. She worked with me to decide on exactly what to create. Even though the things I asked for aren't typically items that she makes, she told me that she was a "romantic" and would be happy to make a special order for me. She even ended up adding decorations on her own because she wanted to make it extra special! Such a lovely person to work with!!! Her husband hand-delivered the cake & chocolate-covered strawberries to my boyfriend on our anniversary and even passed along a special message. My boyfriend was totally surprised and absolutely impressed with the presentation of the gift itself. He also said that the cake and strawberries were incredibly DELICIOUS!!! He really tried to ration them out to last longer, but they were so good he couldn't help eating them within about a week and a half haha. Mama Bear is the greatest, and if you live in the area, you should DEFINITELY choose her shop! I'd be there for coffee and baked goods daily if I didn't live across the pond! haha.

For my particular taste the ganache was slightly too runny, but i had a spoon so it was all good. The chunky chocolate topped muffins were varied from chunks of toblerone, crunchies, white choc etc. and were very tasty and moist, like proper chocolate cake should be, The shortbread was super - perfectly baked with a good amount of jam sandwiched in the middle. This wonderful shop is set in a shopping precinct on a main road, but it has a car park! You can't miss it since its logo is bright pink and black. As soon as me and my papa walked in we were super lovely greeted by big smiles from the staff. The selection of cakes is fab, but they specialise in celebration cakes including big extravaganzabonanza wedding cakes (visit the shop in Wilmslow for the best display). The cakes we so tempting I just asked the lady to put me a box together of her favourites and I couldn't wait to get home and open it to see what I had been given. I absolutely love this place, I keep telling everyone I know to go and try it, so they best keep making their fabulous cakes so everyone can try them. There's only about seven or eight tables, so when I say tiny, I certainly mean it. This isn't a bad thing at all (well unless it's so busy you can't grab a table), because it means the atmosphere is great. When I visted on Saturday there was a baby shower in progress, a few friends having cake and a catch up and an adorable elderly couple having cream tea and scones. This is great because you actually get to see what you're ordering. I've never seen any less than six different types of cake on offer!! I booked a table for my best friend and I for afternoon tea. When we arrived the table was laid out ready and we were given our afternoon tea menu. There were four sandwich choices, multiple drinks choices (you don't have to have tea) and the best bit is that you can pick two cakes! All for the amazing price of £14.50. I had their cheese and chutney sandwich, which was full of flavour, followed by a big juicy strawberry covered in dark chocolate.
