She likes to use modern technology which is great for us busy people. She uses psychselect.com services which is HIPAA compliant; so I can send her electronic messages as well as schedule/cancel appointments without having to play phone tag. So nice! Also, she uses an electronic debit service so that I can process my co-pays in those cases where I don't have cash and on the flip side she doesn't have to deposit checks. As a therapist, she is extremely effective and provides constructive feedback pushing me to think through my emotional/psychological barriers. Also, Allison has a unique counseling philosophy where she blends cognitive, behavioral and spiritual. It continues to be the best fit for me and my strong spiritual beliefs. Biased, Unethical, and Misconduct-Filled Evaluation…read more My experience with Shannon Seeley was deeply harmful and unethical. Although she presented herself as neutral, her evaluation contained false statements, omissions, and strong bias that had serious consequences for my family. She attributed quotes to professionals she never actually interviewed. I personally confirmed with our couples' therapist that she never spoke with him directly, even though her report quoted him as if she had. One of the clearest examples of bias was how she included in her final report the interview with my daughter's father's girlfriend, yet omitted the interview with my husband, even though both were conducted. The interview she excluded contained positive and relevant information that contradicted her conclusions, revealing how selective and one-sided her reporting was. I was presented with an empty domestic-violence intake form from the father, which made sense since I was never abusive. However, in her final report, she submitted a different version filled with false events that I had never seen or been shown. I had no chance to tell her that it was all untrue, yet she still submitted it to the court, which I later learned violates the Rules of Court evaluators are required to follow. Shannon frequently uses the label "gatekeeping" to discredit protective or caring parents -- even when there is no evidence whatsoever to support it. In my case, she completely ignored documented concerns about the other parent's criminal record, ongoing substance use, and unexplained financial activity, instead choosing to misrepresent me. Since my experience, I've personally met more than 15 families whose experiences with her were strikingly similar, showing a clear pattern of bias and professional misconduct. She also publicly testified against Piqui's Law, a California law created to protect children from being forced into "reunification" programs with abusive parents. Thankfully, the court did not accept her position, and the law passed -- protecting children from the kind of harm her evaluations can cause.
