Caffè di San Marco is run by Italian family who settled in Barcelona for a long time, as a result, you can even enjoy some traditional Catalan dishes as well. At lunch time, they offer a variety of menus at 10.95 euros and there are a lot of dishes to choose including Pizza! Their pizza is huge and real Italian. I love their "risotto ai fuighi porcini", this is definitely the best I have ever tried in Barcelona. The price is reasonable, here you can even dine out paying about 25 euro at most. It's a little bit out of town center, but when you think you can taste the real Italian food, it's worth visiting!!! (Actually there are posh bars near, around Av. Tibidabo)

That said, if you're easily offended or don't appreciate a bit of cheeky banter, this might not be your spot. But for those who enjoy a fun, unfiltered vibe -- you'll love it here. As for the food -- wow. We had the tortilla with meat (not sure what it was, but it was delicious), the artichoke tempura (I would fly across the world again just for these), the fried eggplant, and the meat with chimichurri. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Great food, unforgettable personalities, and a place that feels alive. Take a handheld fan because it is hot - especially during summer.
