First, the map location on the map is TOTALLY wrong! This is truly authentic Mexican food and not Tex-Mex. so don't come looking for things covered in sauce or baskets of nacho chips. And speaking of sauces, they bring you a green sauce and a red sauce and both are on the spicy sIde, but delicious. The location seems a bit sketchy, but I felt comfortable and ok with leaving my car The building appears to be a former gas station or convenience store. There is a wall of coolers with Mexican Coke, water, and Jarritos soft drinks. You do self service for for drinks and the bottle openers are magnetic and stuck to the side of the cooler. You seat yourself and they bring you menus and take your orders. Alicia's is a great option for lunch or dinner. And while you are there, check out the bakery next door. I have no idea if it is affiliated with Alicia's, however the baked goods are worth checking out. read more

Food was bland. No spices. No atmosphere. Our server was sweet, but that didn't make up for the fact that we had a lousy meal. I ordered a margarita. Didnt get it. Would have never found this fabulous lunch if it wasn't for Yelp. Grab your own soda bottle - we had Orange Fanta and real Coca-Cola. Food was hot and fresh. I think our server was the owner, and I think he said they are having new menus printed. Got my empanadas with 3 different fillings. Husband had enchiladas and licked his plate clean. This was my first time at Alicia's and I enjoyed the food and service. I ordered the huaraches con frijoles which was really filling. I opted for the pork which was well seasoned and piled high with lettuce, queso fresco, avocado and sour cream. The ambiance needs help, maybe a few pictures on the wall to help reduce any noise from loud tables. read more

I believe this tiny little gem of a restaurant has been around for a few years now, but I just recently discovered it. This restaurant was recommended by a local successful restauranteur, who loves foods simply prepared. I will say that I went for lunch and was delighted with my food and service. This place is authentic, so your experience does not start with chips and salsa. I had the enchilada plate and my friend had the bean burrito (huge) and the $1.50 beef taco's. Everything was excellent. It is said that you know you are at a good ethnic restaurant when the natives/locals eat there. Well...out of a full dining area, I was the only non Mexican there. Very bland, tasteless food. My elderly parents and uncle liked it because they wanted bland. But for me, it was the worst Mexican food I've ever had. The people were very nice. But when I asked the waitress to tell me what one menu item was, she referred me to the picture, which just looked like a mess of food piled on a plate. I'm a vegetarian and usually don't have any trouble getting great food in Mexican restaurants. Oh well. Very little atmosphere, too. For lunch this would have been fine. I'm a socal 90s kid. They got an awesome selection food here, but I always get a burrito with Carne asada and El pastor with cheese no beans. I feel like I'm back in the OC when I go here to eat. Ok, I went back, and had their tacos. For $1.50 per taco, you'd think you wouldn't get much, but two should be enough, and they were pretty tasty, especially if you like onions and cilantro. Alicia's tacos make you forget what the other tacos in town are like. read more
