Mike was super responsive through the whole process and even though he had his own artistic ideas he was willing to implement what I had in mind as well. As you can tell from his portfolio the quality of the work is top notch.

I get so many compliments on our branding and I cannot recommend Chalkbox enough! I sing there praises all the time! Some specifics on my pleasure with the process are: 1. The intake covered all of the specifics I needed and offered Chalkbox a scope to work with 2. The quoted price was reasonable and along the lines of what I expected to pay for the services 3. Engagement documents were sent quickly and were easy to read, understand, and sign 4. I was given a general timeline and the overall time of the project exceeded my expectations 5. I felt known and seen through the process and felt like all options presented were representative of me and my business from my own perspective but with the importance of design in mind 6. All of the discussions from intake to completion were taken into account to provide the final options - including fonts and colors 7. Many web designers have a knowledge only of the creative side of web design, but not the…read moretechnical/marketing side of things. With the drag and drop page builders available today, web designers are quickly becoming really uneducated on the technical side of things. This knowledge separates the good from the great because designers without knowledge in programming/marketing leave gaping holes in the functionality of a website. Which will affect your ability to get results in the long run. I do SEO for a living and have worked with Pia on multiple projects. Her team is actively learning about speed, security, and SEO concepts that should be considered while building a website. The prettiest website in the world isn't going to grow their traffic if it is missing a SSL certificate, if it is slower than 3 seconds, and if Yoast SEO hasn't been installed and optimized for all your major pages. These are all basics that should never be neglected. Sadly the majority of websites (about 75-85% of websites) that I end up working on suffer from at least 1 of these 3 major issues. These are things that your web designer at a minimum should make you aware of and have people to refer your too if it falls outside their service offerings. Otherwise you are getting handed a pretty product that won't perform the way it should. A web designer must be able to work with different media types to add sound, sliders or video to web pages. Pia is constantly brushing up on new design trends (which I don't really care about as a analytical professional, but I know clients do and it can help with getting conversions). An extra skill set that great designers have is content writing, making them able to design the whole page from scratch, and not just pieces of it. Pia has a team of writers, project managers, and more to help with the extra tasks that should be considered and managed. And best of all, she practices what she preaches, fingerprintmarketing.com is ranked #1 on average for web maintenance/website maintenance related keywords. All these things should be common sense for web designers, I was once a web designer and overtime I specialized in SEO because I got tired of clients with beautiful websites that weren't getting traffic. If you hire a web designer and they make no effort to teach you about marketing and SEO, you should reconsider hiring Pia instead. You will get a much better ROI on your investment and get more eyeballs on your new beautiful website/brand.

There are over 50 people in my community each with his or her own opinion on what our logo should be and how our website should look. Josh was able to take in all of the feedback that was offered and create one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. I've worked with professional branding companies before for other projects, but Resonate Branding and Design was hands down the BEST. Josh was able to address the needs of every community member while still producing a unified site that is not only stunning but easy to navigate, easy to update, reflects our values as a community, and looks professional yet inviting. In addition to our site, Resonate Branding and Design created a logo for our community. Josh worked closely with our community and involved us in each step. He was quick and always delivered on time or early. He was professional and patient every step of the way. He is one of those people who are easy and fun to work with. The final design is stunning and so accurately represents us as a community. He was able to incorporate the essence of what makes our community a community in one simple design. I cannot recommend Resonate Branding and Design enough. Not only is Josh at the cutting edge of his field, his work outstanding, and his manner professional, but he is a wonderful person to work with who is able to explain the complexities of the web clearly and simply. A little over a week ago, my cat decided to water test my laptop. Long story short, a glass of water spilled into (!) my laptop. The laptop sat immersed in this pool of water for nearly 20 hours. Everything was complete toast. Although most of my files are in the cloud, especially the most important ones, I decided there might be the occasional file or folder that I might not notice tomorrow or even a year from now. I decided it would be best to retrieve the contents of the drive on the laptop for peace of mind. I left the laptop with them to do an assessment first. That assessment was ~$80. After their assessment, they indicated that the contents of the drive were retrievable and gave me an estimate of $400 to retrieve the contents of the drive (the $80 would apply to that figure). I decided it was worth the cost, if for nothing more than that elusive peace of mind. I also needed a drive to put the contents on (or provide my own). Since I didn't have one, and didn't want to bother with purchasing a 3rd party drive, they charged me $140 for a Toshiba Portable Storage device. So, for about $600 (w/ tax) I got everything off the lost drive. Was it worth it? Without a doubt. Would I go back? Hell yeah.

My comments had nothing to do with not being able to answer every call (they did answer mine) or not being able to accept my service request. My point was, and continues to be, that whoever answered my call was intentionally unhelpful. Martin knows exactly who Rain City is, and knew who I was looking for. When they first split off the retail business, they were going to keep the Progressive Tech name. Then, due to some issues between them, they had to change to Rain City. Martin apparently still harbors a grudge, hence he refuses to refer any retail business to them. An honest answer would have been, "Yes, the people who used to handle retail repairs here did start a new business on Lake City Way, you're looking for Rain City Tech." An honest response to my review would have been "Sorry we played dumb and pretended not to know what you were asking, we should have just given you Rain City's new name."
