We worked with Alice and her team at Alice Che Photographer for both our engagement shoot at the Foothills Nature Preserve in March 2021 and our wedding day at Saratoga Springs in August 2021. Wedding photography was one of the most important aspects of our wedding to us. So, even though Alice was a bit above our budget, we loved her work and her personality so much that we moved some other stuff around so that we could book here. :) Alice is a true wedding professional who responded quickly to emails, gave incredible wedding planning tips, and gave clear instructions when actually taking photos. She was a fantastic mix of directing what to look or do to get nice portraits at beautiful locations and just capturing the candid moments between individuals. She also has amazing turnaround time, sending us our engagement and wedding galleries sooner than we had expected! On the day of the wedding, Alice arrived early with her assistant and second photographer to set up and sync cameras. Somehow they were able to find perfect spots for getting ready photos and portraits at this Airbnb they had never been to before. They then traveled with us to Saratoga Springs, where they were willing to traverse the woods and rocky creekside with us to take some amazing couples portraits. Alice and her team also helped with arranging the wedding dress for portraits and made sure to get photos of every single guest, which was really important to us in hindsight. It just speaks to their expertise that they knew what would be important to capture even better than we do. Finally, they captured some amazing dance moves on camera that will make us smile for the rest of our lives. When we first met with Alice, we knew she might be the perfect photographer for us. Not only was her portfolio beautiful, but her passion for photography that would capture the more subtle emotions of a wedding and her perfectly organized setup really sets her apart. During the planning process. we were blown away with how Alice was able to consistently check in without ever nagging. She met us at the venue months before the wedding to set up a game plan. When looking for photographers, we put together a list of photographers from our venue (Saratoga Springs) and sent around some example pictures to our families to vote. The choice was unanimous, everyone agreed that Alice Che's photographs were by far the best. Her pictures always had gorgeous lighting and the couples looked at ease and natural. Our experience with Alice didn't disappoint. For our engagement shoot, she recommended Rodeo Beach (based on our interest in a beach centered engagement shoot). The beach was absolutely spectacular and the lighting in the evening was perfect! She took the lead telling us how to stand and where to put our hands. We had not had a photo shoot before, so we needed lots of guidance! She would put us into a pose and then encourage us to interact, which made us look natural and happy in the pictures. The engagement pictures turned out better than we could have imagined and we had a hard time picking favorites! As an added bonus, Alice sent us a sneak preview of the pictures the next day! Unfortunately, our wedding happened in the middle of a pandemic and personal circumstances meant Alice could no longer photograph our wedding. Despite this setback, she had found us a backup photographer within a day (one day!) and offered to still edit the pictures. Alice found an incredible back up photographer who had a similar style and enthusiasm that immediately put us at ease. As with the engagement pictures, Alice had sent a sneak preview of our wedding pictures by the next day and they look incredible! Alice Che's work really speaks for itself. Choosing Alice to photograph our San Francisco wedding was the best decision! From the moment I first spoke with her on the phone, through engagement photos to the final delivery of our wedding photos, she has been a dream to work with. And, most importantly, our photos are STUNNING. Alice provides such a calm, positive presence and it is such a pleasure to be around her...which is so important! On our actual wedding day, she arrived early (which was wonderful), and set to work on shooting flat lays while hair and makeup finished. (Her flat lays are stunning!)
