I never imagined that one could have such an amazing feast in vegetarian/vegan food in Germany! I…read morearrived in Heidelberg from Schwäbisch land (Stuttgart), where there were only two choices for a vegetarian: Käsespätzle und Maultaschen. And if one is lactose-intolerant, then one can only subsist on Kartoffelsalat :-( This restaurant fed me like I'd never been fed before! There seemed to be endless creations in vegetarian delicacies, both cold and hot, savory and sweet, that covered several long shelves. I would have had at least 3 full plates, if not for the reason that my local friend was paying for lunch - charged by weight - and I didn't want to empty her wallet :-). Weather permitting, there are both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a super popular spot that attracts many diners.

Once you have put your food you want on your plate you go up to the register and they weigh your plate. Depending on the weight is how much you pay. The service is fast and helpful. It is usually pretty full there, but totally worth going. Even my four year old picky eater found something to eat there.

I've gone to a fair amount of Thai restaurants, including one in Camden, Maine called Long Grain that is near and dear to my heart. But this one takes the cake. I'm no expert on Thai cuisine, nor have I even been to Thailand or truly scoured the Thai cuisine available in America, but this is the best thai food I've ever had. That PAD THAI. Our table was collectively moaning with every bite. This was the true standout dish; everyone agreed it was the best they'd had. The red curry and green curry (one with chicken, one with beef) were also both EXCELLENT. And for appetizers, we did a sampler where the chefs surprise you for €12/person, which was fun and also incredible. I really mean it. This place is goated. So so so good. Can't overstate how much I loved this spot. Like other reviewers said, definitely make a reservation in advance, as it can get packed even on weeknights. We made one the night-of as soon as the place opened, over the phone, and had no issues though.

I loved the simple and modern decoration and setting at this place. After a few minutes of checking, we were told if we could finish meal in one hour we could take that table. We happily took the chance and ordered very quickly. Shared appetizers of chicken satay and tofu spring roll. Both are really tasty and especially chicken satay which we ordered second of it. I ordered beef noodle soup which is probably the best I have tried in Thai place. Broth was pretty tasty. Beef was cooked just right. Little too much noodles but I could not hold it off and finished it all. Other friends got green curry which must be good as they finished those all quickly. Service were pretty quick and attentive. Beer options were not too many.. Definitely will go back before the end of this trip.

I seated myself at a table, and someone brought me a menu promptly. It was quite hefty, showing that this place had more options than what you could see at the grab and go counter in the front. It is all in German, so English speakers be prepared, but other than that it was easy to navigate and had many options for all palates. I ordered the falafel teller (plate) and a water, and while I was waiting and small basket of pita bread (very thin) was brought to my table. When my meal arrived, the falafel was very hot, obviously fried fresh, and the sesame dip was splendid with it. My simple side salad was also very refreshing, as I was still hot from exploring the castle ruins that morning. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Heidelberg. Whether you want a quick snack or a sit down meal, this place will have you covered. It is also very reasonably priced compared to everything around as well!

I love visiting Heidelberg when I'm in Germany and walking through the streets imagining I am a college student at a gorgeous European campus of the oldest university in Germany. We saw this highly rated spot while walking along the cobblestone streets and decided to stop for food. We ordered the mixed plate which featured babaganoush, hummus, falafel (donut shaped), potatoes, eggplant, roasted cauliflower, salad, spinach pastry, and cheese pastry. When I tell you were could not stop raving about each and every aspect of this dish, I am not exaggerating. I legitimately think the people at the table next to us got annoyed at these overly animated Americans. I will dream about these donut-shaped falafels as there is nothing like them where I live (so so far away). We also opted for a glass of Lebanese dry white wine, which was super crisp and pleasant. Overall, a must-try when in Heidelberg. I wish I had been able to take some more to-go- especially since we saw that that they have convenient lunch-box style offerings for the college students.

This place is definitely bigger than I thought as through the hallway you may find a few more tables with a glass-windowed kitchen where you can see how the chefs work their magic here. Staff here are extremely nice and the place is super clean. (One thing I am still trying to get used to is flies inside a restaurant - this is the only place where I did not see any.) There are quite a few choices for burgers and you are expected to order fries separately (no set meal I guess). However, all these burgers are set to impress. Though the portion is not as big, the quality is definitely there. (For those who prefer bigger burgers, there is one in Altstadt - kind of pub like and they serve nice and big burgers.) Overall I am rather pleased with this.
