Portugal is more than her gorgeous coastlines. Take a quad, or a buggy, and go inland. If you're trying to decide if you should do it, DO IT!!!! If you're trying to decide if you should use Algarve Riders Tour, USE THEM! Algarve Riders Tour is the BEST thing we've done in Portugal so far! You come early, sign in, get a helmet and goggles. Then the super friendly guides divide you by which language you'd like directions in (Thanks for that, my Portuguese is awful!). Carlos gave us instructions in English reminding us of the rules of the road. While someone else I think was giving instructions in French. Then our guide, the one in the picture, we called him "god of the golden sun". He made sure we all knew how to start our engines, stop, etc. super patient. Our group was super small, 6 quads, 9 people. The guides were great about making sure everyone was comfortable, like to the point there was a quad who had fairly new drivers so they returned a calmer way and the rest of us carried on with the original plan. What an incredible company that can make adjustments like that so quickly. Was it hot? Yep, we went in July. But you're driving so there's always a breeze. :) Was it dirty? Yep, but we sprayed ourselves with the air compressor and heck we have a pool at the hotel. Lol. Was it scary? Yep, It was just the right amount of scary. That's what made it fun. I'd call it invigorating or adventurous more than scary. Can my kid do it? How about the old guy? Yep, to be a driver you need a drivers license. My daughter age 20 loved it. My husband, 60, (who hated the hills in Lisbon), loved the quad ride. And me a 53 year old school teacher from the states, loved it!!!! Have fun! Do it! read more
