It's a pretty simple layout with almost bench seating across one side and a few table sprawling onto the street. Clearly everyone else knew about this place because there is always a a couple people hanging around. They serve allpress beans and dish up quite a good cuppa for 'burbs coffee'- in fact it's the best coffee I've found in Avalon so far. I came here after a post beach lunch and went for the spinach, goat cheese, cherry tomato and avocado on rye toast which was pretty awesome- a solid half a star of this rating is attributed to that super tasty rye bread alone. They also do fresh juices- I tried the pineapple, mint, ginger and something juice which was pretty tasty. They staff were really chilled and friendly and the guy didn't care at all that I changed my order like 3 times. They were also going above and beyond to help give a recommendation to a couple not from around here about a nice restaurant in the area. Really enjoyed this place and kicking myself I didn't discover it 10 years ago!

When I moved to Avalon the first thing the barber said was how bad Chillbar is, and I went there for the first time today. If I could give this business zero stars then I would, Chillbar is so gross. My iced latte was tiny for the price and just plain bad, I dont know why they even insist on doing coffee if they're going to do them so badly. And then I got my bacon and egg roll... I didn't know it was possible for a bacon egg roll to be so bad, I don't know if it was made days ago or something because it was completely inedible, for some reason it had this cheese that had gone hard and the bread was wet and the egg was completely burnt and the bacon was all just uncooked fat. Worst of all was the staff, so disgustingly rude, I don't get how Chillbar is still in business, hopefully not for long. The "chef" and I use that word so kindly, was the rudest of them all, he threw my bacon and egg roll at me and then called me an stupid idiot and tried to start a fight with me and I had to tell him to go fuck himself. Well, this place helped, though it is actually more of a gelataria as opposed to a café, but they still will do you a pot of tea, which is good.
