Context, I'm a man in my 30s and my jugement when it comes to hairdressers is bound to differ from that of other men and especially women. In my world, considering that my hair is easy to cut and all I want is a simple short hair cut, it really comes down to speed and service.
Now, lazy as I am, I've tended to go to the same place most of my life. But after having to drop off my car for two hours at the garage recently, I decided to go for a stroll and see if I could get a haircut in the area without a prior appointment. Yelp in hand and dodging the bigger brands, I stumbled across this place and was immediately drawn to it. The place looked clean, the red and white colors stood out, the staff looked sharp and as I entered, I immediately felt welcome. A friendly staffer greated me and they were swift to reshuffle the the rest of the staff to fit me in without a booking.
A few moments later I was sat and ready for my hair to be washed. After which I was moved to the front and offered coffee, some reading material and a portfolio of haircuts I might like. In my world a haircut that requires me to do anything but fall out of bed is not for me, so needless to say I did not take much notice of the portfolio and simply asked that what was on my head be reduced whilst keeping roughly the same shape.
About 30 minutes later it was over. Everything was done in a way that suggested this was no botched job. I've had my fair share of hairdressers that wack out the electrics and after 10minutes call it a day. This was much more to my licking, taking time to do things properly and confuring with me about certain choices.
The place is clean, looks modern and the staff look the par (they're willing, friendly and very professional). I'm a dog fan so when their dog turned up and came to say hi, I was delighted.
I'll be back. read more
