We're in wine country between lunch wine and dinner wine, so we popped to Alexanders for a browse. This place has just about everything (though no wifi). Clothing, candy, boots, hiking stuff, hunting stuff, furniture, and yes, guns. Lots of guns. Prices were medium to high but there is great quality. I'm so mad at myself for going 70 miles out of my way to go to this place. They stopped waiting on me to waste 15 minutes taking care of a window shopper. I had already pulled ~$200 in merchandise and was in the process of trying to buy up to $500+ more. They are too shorthanded and don't even have the capability of checking their computer to see if something is in stock or available. We had shopped all over 2 states for a new loveseat and then went to Alexander's. We were greeted by Lee Meeks, who allowed us space to shop, but was nearby to answer all questions. We special ordered one, and he contacted us promptly when it arrived, even having it delivered the same day. The delivery guys were awesome, too, very careful and polite. Highly recommend! read more

Really nice store with an excellent selection of items. Staff are friendly and helpful. The one VERY surprising thing is that there is NO internet available at/around their store. I was shocked at this, so I walked out of the store to try to text members of my family (and include pictures) about items that I found which I thought they might like. When I went outside, looked around and noticed there were at least ten other women like me wandering about with their cell phones just trying to get service. Many of us joked about it. But it wasn't that funny in the end. My Wifi indicated that Alexanders did indeed have internet. I asked one of the salespeople if there was a password that customers could use. She immediately responded that she knew this was "a big problem at their store". She apologized and said "No, the owners have not set up a (Guest) Wifi for their customers". So strange! I am hoping one of the owners will READ this and remedy the situation. So many of their customers (myself included) find something we think a family member or friend would love, but we cannot contact them to see if we should purchase it. This is costing Alexanders money. I hope they will REALIZE this, and activate a guest Wifi for their customers to use for this purpose. read more

During a recent visit to Blairsville, GA in early August, we visited Alexander's Store in our search for a Bogg bag. Oh my goodness! We found a wonderful selection of Bogg bags, Mud Pie, Vera Bradley, as well as some of the nicest people you would ever want to do business with. Everything in this store is high quality. My husband even bought some things which is not like him when we travel. He found their shoe selection to be outstanding and also purchased some short sleeve button front shirts for church. We will definitely visit Alexander's Store on each and every trip to Blairsville and I dare say may even visit the area more often now that we know such a high quality shopping experience awaits. read more

They have an email subscription and list firearms and ammo at an incredible price and say "No limits" "1st come 1st served" I was there 20 minutes before opening time 25 -30 people were already in line and just as many behind me, and as soon as the doors were open they sprinted then the few upfront grabbed a cart filled to the top with the sale ammo and in less than 5 minutes all stock was gone! it was announced all the sale items were gone the huge line broke up and started roaming the store. I spoke to some other customers and they said they would never shop there again because this is "bait and switch" is a regular thing they do that gets you there and then you have driven (some people from out of state) to shop"Well I drove an hour or more to get here" might as well buy something for my trouble. They have some great deals before that I liked but since this has happened a few times I will shop online and wait a week. The regular items are $10-15 dollars or more than my local sporting goods box stores have their hunting/shooting gear priced at without burning half a tank of gas and waiting in line for 20-30 minutes after getting up early on a Saturday and dealing with traffic with tourists everywhere. I remember when past shortages were going on box sporting goods stores with huge warehouses would limit ammo at regular prices to prevent hoarding or price gouging 2ndary market sellers to be fair to all customers. During that time at 6:00 AM, there would be a line of 25 people and the store did not open till 9:00 AM same thing as above but the store limited people to 3 boxes of any 1 ammo per customer. Later there were families of 5 buying their 3 boxes each but when they showed up all the time doing that the store would ask them to leave some managers would even trespass the people got upset by that from the store I loved watching that! I know customers are capable of doing anything bad and taking advantage of the system, but when a store that treats customers like that eventually loses customers that will not come back, and with Amazon Walmart, and many online retailers taking over shopping brick-and-mortar stores would want to have happy customers to stay in business. read more

This business is scheming for profit and cheating its customers. I received the "Single Origin" dark roast ground coffee as a holiday gift. It was undrinkable, worse than the lowest quality brands at the grocery store. It smelled _bad_. I called to complain and to express my concern/suspicion that they are selling repackaged low quality coffee with false, misleading labeling. I spoke with a nice cashier who forwarded me to a female manager. The manager was helpful; she explained that they source the coffee from a local roaster and would investigate my complaint. However, I then received a call from the owner, who dismissed my complaint in a bullying tone and misused the term "single roast origin" while justifying his product claims. This guy is a scoundrel. We threw the coffee away. I can't imagine the other shortcuts they're taking at the expense of their customers and to the benefit of their bottom line. read more

Bought several guns, ammo, clothes etc. The last 3 times we have been, we were met with the rudest employees I've ever met! When your newly purchased shirts go from a "XL" to a "medium small" after one wash and you bring it back four days later with the receipt, you are told to "take it up with the manufacturer". Okay so for starters they are owned by Publix but still claim local ownership. Everything they have in stock is from wholesale business like Ashley furniture, Faust, Liberty, etc. Yet they pass off their furniture as "authentic" and "hand crafted" I'll ask this question, when was the last time you saw authentic, hand crafted furniture come off the back of an Ashley home furniture co. truck? And don't even get me started on the prices they charge considering the quality. If I could give 0 stars I would but I can't so 1 star. Just go to a local flea market or farmers market if you would really like to show support to local businesses. You're more likely to get something made in China for an outrageous price at Alexander's. read more

They say they have everything under the sun and they do... except toys, which is a little odd. Clothing, shoes, knives, guns, furniture, appliances, etc... the staff is friendly and you can find some deals. Its hidden on a back country road in North Georgia, but its worth the drive. Prices are pretty reasonable.....nice people, Newly remodel store looks really nice and updated. Only suggestion is to get clothes for ladies that are not "old lady" styles or "teeny boppers" need some styles for us ladies that are in between those looks. Very nice place to shop. Everyone says not to shop here, but we thought we would give them a try. BIG MISTAKE !! They are rude with worst customer service. If you buy something definitely make sure it's absolutely what you have to have because they will not take it back. We bought a pair of Rocky boots he tried them on walked around house a few minutes and said they weren't comfortable and hurt his ankles, so tried to return them, only 3 days after purchase, and they would not let us return them we had to contact Rocky ourselves to get anything done. So buyer beware. They are not good people who really care about customer service. I would definitely give negative stars if possible. And I will now be one of the people who warn people not to shop there.and you can get better prices online than in there for sure. read more

Went in today to look around and found a gun I liked. We've been in the market for one for a bit, and finally found one I loved. We were greeted well, and left to get lunch to think about it. Not two hours later we returned, and weren't greeted for nearly 20 minutes, while standing right at the front next to a couple being helped. Finally someone came over and said "what do you want," then when we asked about the gun we had seen earlier, he said "well none of these are any of those," and proceeded to ask our age and tell us "how lucky we were" to be seeing their display. None of which what we were looking for. Not their fault they sold the gun, just the manner in which we were handled was poor and disappointing. Poorly arranged for handicap shoppers.I shopped with my wheelchair bound Mother.The merchandise and racks are too close together to allow a smaller compact wheelchair to pass easily.A sales associate stepped upto me and whispered in my ear as soon as I entered store to wheel down ramps in store backwards due to them being too steep.The restrooms are outside.They are up on a high step.Not handicap accessible. A sales associate seemed to be tailing us through store.She followed us through clothing department. Overall it was not worth the experience for overpriced last season's merchandise. read more

I come here often and have enjoyed most of the visits. I came in the other day to price, and most likely purchase a Benelli shotgun. The sales person was just finishing up with three young men that told him they would return with their dad because they didn't have enough for the item they were looking at. The sales clerk looked at me and proceeded to follow the young men down the isle taking baseball with them. He looked back at me and continued to talk about his history in playing baseball and never acknowledged me. I was very excited about making a purchase and was totally ignored. Bought a flannel shirt as a gift and one laundering following manufacturers instruction (made in Pakistan) left the garment shrunk and unwearable except for working around the house. Have been going to Alexanders for over 13 years. Most of the sales folks in the gun department have an attitude. An uncaring and unfriendly attitude. I have bought several guns there but no more. The checkout folks are not happy people...act like they are doing you a favor. The return policies are unfriendly and uncaring. It is over priced. Finally if a fire broke out you will be toast. Not many ways to exit. For a so called old country store, they do no act like it while playing religious music in the background. I went here with my husband. He had heard they had good deals on sporting goods. He did find bullets for about $4 less than most places. However, everything else in the place was way overpriced. The gentleman in the furniture section and sporting good section and the lady in the shoe section were friendly. The rest of the employees, especially the ones near the front, kind of seemed like they didn't want to be bothered with you. I believe I would make sure my employees especially the first ones and the last ones that most people see and deal with were friendly. It was neat how they have everything from clothes, to furniture, to sporting goods, but I can go somewhere else with friendlier service, better prices, and be more impressed. read more

The people are friendly, down to earth, and very helpful. I see these reviews and obviously these are customers used to shopping at car dealerships where they can haggle. Alexanders is an out of the way store practically in no man's land. The fact that prices are higher is a testament to the fact that you can pay less if you are willing to travel. Is Quick Trip inexpensive if you need a gallon of milk? I don't think so, you pay for the convenience of not having to go to the local Walmart. I purchased a firearm there, the price was well below what it would have cost me at a local gun shop and it took me a good 2 hours to get there. I highly recommend Alexanders, ESPECIALLY gun owners and those seeking a good deal on firearms. read more

Purchased a sectional livingroom set back in March 2015. Delivery was all miscommunicated, went all weekend with no furniture to sit on. When items finally showed up, 1 piece wad damaged, took pictures, emailed sales associate. They lack in communication skills, had to keep calling every couple weeks to find out the status of the items I had ALREADT paid for. Here 2 months later....still NO Answer. Will not purchase anything from there again, and will let others know how my experience was. read more

I bought a windbreaker, took it home, wore it once and decided it was useless. Took it back to the store within a week and they would not take it back because I did not have the tag. I had the bag and receipt but they said they would not take it back without the tag, even though the receipt did not state that and they still had the same windbreaker in the store with a tag on it to scan. They say they are a Christian store, but I believe they only worship the dollar. Everything in the store is pretty much cheap merchandise at an overinflated price. I wish I had never gone there and I would recommend you avoid it. read more
