His personality fits his profession. He's friendly, soft spoken, and has a smile that is warm. In a nutshell, he makes you feel comfortable, which is important in my opinion whenever you go to see any type of doctor. I was able to sit in and watch him work on my friend. I observed how mindful he is in his work; his fingers hitting all the tension relieving pressure points. The proof was in the pudding, and the pudding happened to be the smile of relief on my friend's face. As he worked he also talked, which I think served two purposes: making the appointment less boring and keeping her calm and relaxed as he worked. I have never been to a chiropractor, but I can say that when the day comes when I need one, I hope Dr. Wilbur is still around.

Dr. Dave is phenomenal. I referred many people to Dr. Dave and have heard and seen some *amazing…read moreresults in some *tough cases. If you're looking for a higher level of health or have hit the wall on a challenging health issue you just can't find the help you're looking for, definitely contact Dr. Dave! I've been going to him for 2 or 3 years now. I now have a completely different and enabling view of health and how to maximize it. I originally went to Dr. Dave with a really tight knot behind my right shoulder blade that 3 or 4 other chiropractors and massage therapists could do nothing about. And any small relief I had gotten went away very quickly. Dr. Dave got to the source of the problem very quickly, and that whole issue just doesn't exist any more. I'm actually grateful for the depth of Dr. Dave's knowledge and his willingness to doggedly stick to studying a challenging problem until he sorts it out. I also love his willingness to say "I have no idea, but I know who you should talk to". He's great about referring specific problems outside his expertise to others who have specialized appropriately. Update: We're doing some lab tests that may very well uncover something that I wasn't even aware of that may have negatively-effected me for the rest of my life. Dr. Dave's really got my back. It's really surprising to have a doctor who is as insightful and thorough as he is.

On a family member's encouragement, I went to see Dr. Lepp. He did a thorough investigation and analysis of what was going not only with my foot, my posture, my gait, and my lifestyle, but also what was going on in my diet that needed help so I could heal. In a much shorter time than my last bout, I am happy to say I am walking and hiking hours at a time with no pain and no limp. If you have foot or leg problems, I recommend you go see him and follow the treatment plan he sets up for you. It is great to be on my feet again, and I must say, I don't think I could feel as good as I do without his caring attention and knowledge. He is a very talented practitioner.

I'm an avid crocheter and I like to hike with my family. I was having neck pain from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed. I couldn't turn my head properly, let alone without pain, which presents an issue when you commute a lot. I'd get headaches daily, usually after about 1:00 pm no mater what I did. I had a bunch of other miscellaneous ailments that I thought were just a part of my arrival to my 30's and being an actual, full-blown adult. My coworker suggested that I go see Dr. James for the headaches. I'd had chiropractic before with another Doc after a car accident, but I'd never considered going in for headaches. What did I have to lose? I was miserable anyway, so I made an appointment. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, let me tell you a story. When I got there, Dr. James took the time to really look at my posture, how I was standing, how my head moved, and asked me loads of questions. I could tell he actually cared. What a novel idea! His adjustments were not painful or frightening, and I can say I had immediate relief. By the time I left, I felt so much better! I could turn my head. My headache from earlier was all but gone. I felt like I could be productive once I got home instead of being mopey and miserable. Fast forward to four visits in and Dr. James has officially won me over to the healing benefits of Chiropractic. My neck is steadily getting better, I haven't had a headache in 2 weeks, and my hips and FEET even feel better. If you are considering chiropractic but you aren't sure it's right for you, I'd encourage you to go talk to Dr. James. I really believe he has my best interest in mind every time I walk in the door. Don't take my word for it. Go see for yourself.

It was an extreme case, in both feet. I worked with the podiatrist for five months doing everything he suggested. (Night splints, braces, exercise, Cortizone shots, bed rest, medical boots) Nothing was working. The next step we were discussing was surgery. I had been to a chiropractor many times before in my life and while my former chiropractor tried his best to help my feet, it was not working either. Then I was recommended to higher ground and was told James, had specialized training that could help me. And boy were they right! After 4 treatments my extreme pain was gone and was able to walk again. After 10 treatments I was cured enough to begin working again and regaining my normal life again. While the treatment might not have always felt wonderful for the couple minutes it was being administered, it works and is totally worth it!!!! James He gave me exercises and shoe recommendations. He listens and cares. Now I suggest high ground chriopracric whenever I can!

Steve Lum is an extraordinary person and healer. I was bedridden with late stage Lyme Disease when…read moreI first came into contact with him. I was bitten by a tick carrying the disease 3 years before I was diagnosed. My dear friend of 18 years gifted me a phone session with Steve because he had witnessed him perform such effective healing on his sister after she had a stroke. I was skeptical at first, my husband is a doctor, but I agreed to the phone session as I was in the beginning stages of Bells Palsy had migrating joint pain, brain fog, neurological issues w/ balance and speech control. I had chills upon chills. It felt like I constantly had a severe flu. After that first session I began to work with Steve over the phone once a week. It has now been over two years. I am an Ivy League educated woman and I have spent many years studying Freudian Psycho Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Philosophy, Buddhism and Mysticism. The more I worked with Steve the more I saw pieces of all these disciplines in addition to his own original healing philosophy he has autodidactly put together over the years. I had heard of the "mind-body connection" before but never truly understood the meaning until I started working with Steve. Through his wise teachings and during out concurrent healing sessions, I could literally feel the negative effect holding on to resentment had inside my body. He helped me to see the deeply engrained, habitual, unconscious, negative thought processes that had carved grooves into my brain. I could see and feel all the information inside me that was not mine, but that I was holding on to. Once we were able to identify these things, we were able to fix them. I say "we" because Steve is not some phony New Age guy, he is a serious person and expects you to put in work too. Steve can heal anyone if they do their part in the healing process. The part I'm talking about is the fearlessness and openness to explore the uncomfortable, unexamined painful areas of our hearts and minds that keep us locked in unwellness and feed disease. Just as one needs to follow doctor's orders when seeing an MD, one needs to follow Steve's orders and practice the integrative meditation homework that he suggests. Believe me, I could never meditate for more than 3 minutes before I met Steve- and I did yoga for 5 years, and still I couldn't meditate for more than 3 minutes. Steve Lum has taught me the true meaning of meditation, but more importantly the quantum connection between our emotional reactive states and the physical health of our bodies. If you are looking for someone to coddle you and not challenge you at all, and in turn not really heal you at the root but just alleviate the painful symptoms then Steve is not the guy for you. He can take away the pain on the surface, but you will get stuck at a certain point and plateau. If you are willing to push past your points of discomfort and be brave, Steve will heal you and expand your consciousness and understanding of the emotional world around you and your place in it. Steve Lum's healing hands defy our rational logic and I would have never believed it possible had I not experienced them first hand. Well we worked over the phone for the first year before I ever met him in person. I am so grateful I cast aside my judgment and skepticism long enough to let this wise, thoughtful, empathetic, compassionate, unique, effective healer into my life. I genuinely urge you to do the same, whether you are sick or not. He can actually move more quickly with you if you are not sick but are interested in learning real meditation and higher states of consciousness, clarity and self-understanding.

This is going to be an unusual review, but bear with me. :)…read more Three weeks ago, I was helping friends move from San Francisco to Daly City (boo!). We were just getting started to fill the truck with all kinds of furniture and boxes. I had been at my friends' place a zillion times, but still managed to think that I was already on the bottom step of a staircase when I actually wasn't - picture Roadrunner hovering over a canyon and then falling down. That was me. I landed on my right ankle, overstretched it severely and was down for the count. Now, my one lucky bit of the day was that one of the other helpers was Dr. Lori Beltran. She examined my foot, got a bandage, wrapped my foot expertly and sent me home, ordering the RICE treatment for my foot - rest, ice, compression and elevation. She also told me to see a doctor after 72 hours, aka on Tuesday. The days until then, Dr. Beltran actually followed up with me by text messages (!). I'd have totally gone over to follow up with her in person, too, but I'm in the city, not in O-town, so I saw my regular Orthopedist. He was praising her bandaging skills and said that he probably wouldn't be able to wrap my ankle as expertly as Dr. Beltran - and he's been in business even longer than she has. Bottom line: if you're looking for stellar medical service in the East Bay, Dr. Beltran is your one-stop solution.

Even when I find a doctor that I like, I've run into issues with rude nurse assistants and front desk staff. When I told my long-term OBGYN my situation, he referred me to Dr. Lori Beltran. I came in for my first appt. with low expectations and was greeted by a nice front desk receptionist. The office is completely electronic, so I filled in all of my information and medical history in no time. My 1st visit was pretty easy, this was more so just an intro/annual check-up. Dr. Beltran even requested all of my recent blood work from my last physician so I didn't have to do more labs. During my visit, she noticed that my sinuses were inflamed and referred me to a great Allergist (apparently I have allergies that I wasn't even aware of). Another perk of the office is they open early. My appt. was at 7am - perfect if you need to get in before work. Overall I had a good experience. Glad to have found a Great Doctor (and office staff) in the East Bay!

Blackledge is literally the best doctor I've ever met. I don't even use Yelp and had to sign up…read morejust to write this because there's no way in hell this doctor deserves less than five stars. He's as intelligent as any other doctor, but unlike most other doctors he tailors his treatment plan to each patient individually instead of following a regimen (i.e. two patients have the same problem, Blackledge doesn't have a one-size-fits-all approach and rather talks to you to learn about your lifestyle and history to see what would work best). He's also based in reality, which is something many doctors aren't. He's realistic with his approach, taking into consideration things you personally want him to look it. Aside from his multifaceted approach and his realistic approach to his practice, he's just downright cool. He's a great conversationalist and actually listens to what you say and what you think matters or what's on your mind. Not to mention his office is dope, you know the second you walk in this place is different from others. That's not to say that this place is necessarily alternative, you could equally get the treatment you need here at any other Urgent Care. But if you're looking for a better doctor with a more comprehensive approach, if you're scared of going to the doctor, or if you have a unique complex problem such as addiction, he's your guy. There's beautiful modern art everywhere. What a cool dude. Five million stars!
