We are very grateful to Dr. Kim and his staff for providing outstanding care to all members of our family. Through the years, we have needed not only regular cleanings and other types of preventive care - but also cavity fillings, root canals, crowns, tooth extractions, and implants. Dr. Kim always explained the reasons for all procedures, provided options for care, performed all procedures flawlessly with appropriate anesthesia, and solid follow-up. We never experienced any complications but knew that we would be seen immediately if there was a need. My wife is one of those people who, in the past, prior to getting dental care from Dr. Kim, had always dreaded going to the dentist, either because the treatment was painful (not appropriate anesthesia), or because she thought they pushed unnecessary dental work. We never encountered such issues with Dr. Kim: we always had total confidence in his recommendations and care. Dr. Kim has terrific technical skills that are complemented with all the technology needed to provide on-site care (e.g. making crowns). But, equally important, he is also caring and highly responsive, as are the rest of his staff. As an example, our daughter developed acute pain in one of her teeth just before Christmas one year, while his office was closed. Dr. Kim and his wife opened the office just for her and treated her dental emergency. In another instance, when I had a cracked tooth emergency, Dr. Kim took the time to treat it on a weekend when his office was closed. In summary, we highly recommend Dr. Sonny Kim and his staff to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

I barely had to use anything stronger. my brother got his out somewhere else not with general anesthesia and it was the worst pain ever so i was super scared but this experience was as smooth as one could be given the nature of the procedure in my opinion. also the front desk was fantastic and genuinely so nice and kind and patient that i pretty much picked the place based off of that (and the drs reviews of course) when i called them asking about insurance prior to me coming in for a consult.

The feeling that your dental care is spinning out of control and it's too overwhelming to figure out how to change things? I was having that experience all over northern VA, and then I decided to trust reviewers and cast a wider net. I read the heartfelt appreciation from Dr. To's patients and decided to travel from Alexandria to Chantilly to improve my health care circumstances. That was one of the best health care decisions I have ever made! Dr. To is a consummate professional and exercises impeccable judgment. Also, he is a talented and experienced dentist with outstanding technique and precision. I have referred half-a-dozen friends and family to Chantilly Family dentistry, and they all come away with the same experience. They are shocked at how quickly all their concerns were addressed and how reasonable and sensible the path forward sounded as described by Dr. To. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the office is bright and attractive. A lot of TLC has been invested in building this practice and anyone who chooses to visit will likely come away feeling that they've never before had better dental care.

Trays were made to whiten and maintain my lower teeth. And a night guard was made for me to wear as obviously I grind and clinch my teeth at night. Treatments: I got a deep cleaning and five cavities filled, with local anesthesia. Sook did the deep clean and her gentleness was next level. A dentist whose name I'm sorry I've forgotten did the fillings. He was competent and quick and nice. The only pain I felt was from the needle for numbing. One of the teeth was sensitive after being filled and required a follow up for a fluoride treatment. A different dentist saw me for that who was very friendly and quick. I think he was the dentist who started the practice. Service: Best dental experience ever. Best care I've received from ANY medical provider, honestly. I'm on the autism spectrum and with my sensory processing issues, even minor dental work is extremely difficult. The team was kind, thoughtful, thorough, skilled, and so gentle- everyone from front desk to the hygienists and the dentists get five stars. I sent them an email before I went and they were the literal best. They offered stress balls, as many breaks as needed, kindness and direct communication, willingness to explain what was was going to happen step by step so I could prepare myself, and never once did they shame me for sensitivity I can't control. Also, I don't think I'm special or getting extra good service. I think they're just like this as a team! I met a woman in the waiting room who also said this was the literal best dentist she'd ever been to and that she traveled two hours to get there every time. It had been YEARS since I'd been able to go back more than once to an office bc of terrible experiences. Not only have I been back to MJM but I recommend them to everyone I know in the DMV. The whole team seems to actually care about your well being and that's mind blowing. I hope this helps!
