The first day I went to Chestnut Montessori School it was early 2021, Giorgio, my son, came with me…read moreand my husband for the tour, he walked in and played with fire truck and excavator wooden puzzles on the little table at the entrance, the director were fully answering all our questions and we were watching the kids and the teachers from the glass door. Giorgio doesn't easily like new places, he loved it, we were impressed by the school, I thought teachers and kids were prepared to be on best behavior during our tour since they looked not only calm, but also happy and very busy with their work, teachers were there smiling and everything seems perfect and under control. Today, May 2023, I can tell there was no preparation for the tour, that was a normal day at Chestnut Montessori School, that positive feeling we got on the day of the tour never went away. We are extremely grateful Giorgio had the chance to spend two full years there. As for many kids, his first day of school was miserable, first weeks he wasn't eating much, he wasn't talking too much English, just Italian, he wasn't playing much with the other kids. After a month he felt that place was becoming safe, teachers were familiar faces, routine was set so he knew what to expect, he learned a lot of new English words, he started playing with all the other kids, a lot of nature walks and great new material to discover, works to do. Over the years he felt safe and happy, he changed and learned so much because the environment allowed him to do so, this year in particular it was an explosion on gaining knowledge and learning the right ways to be in a small society like Liliac room. We were really happy about his experience, particularly grateful to the director, Mrs. Hanson for how much she cares about kids, for her patience with them and with us parents, for loving such a difficult job as a teacher and as teacher of teachers, for the experience and professionalism she shared with us. That said they are also reasonably priced. Since they are not a chain, it's very clear your tuition goes straight into the classroom for great teachers, activities and equipment. Our daughter attended here for 2 years. We are still in touch with them occasionally and go to their annual picnic because they were like a second family when we went there. I have 3 kids and have seen every type of daycare and preschool - Creative Sprouts is simply the best. The most impressive thing they taught my daughter was excellent social emotional skills. She was able to express her feelings, even in a conflict with her sister, from a very young age! Highly highly recommend.

Hands down the best school my child has attended so far (this is her 4th school since birth). We…read morelove that the school is doing their best to help build a parent community, the communication is excellent, and the teachers are SO caring. Other things we love: meal and snacks are prepared there and they use whatever is growing in the garden (and let families take the excess produce home too), many opportunities for parents and kids to get together during non school days, awesome child teacher ratio (smaller than state requirement), lots of outdoor play time (I love it and believe that's what kids need to thrive - be outside. I love seeing that my girl comes home with dirty clothes because of outdoor playing), loving teachers and staff who really take their time to understand the needs of your child and families. I can't say enough how much we love CS. My child doesn't want to go home everyday I go to pick her up. I think that says it all.

Wonderful preschool! My daughter loves going here and is thriving. When anyone asks her she says,…read more"Preschool is SO MUCH FUN!" Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Meghan are awesome -- knowledgeable, fun, and very kind. They really care about the kids and have just the right balance of structure and flexibility. The kids learn a lot too. They did a whole unit on fire safety, where they learned songs to help them remember how to keep safe and they got to meet firefighters and climb on the firetruck. They do many lovely art projects as well and each day they are learning numbers and letters. The facility is great -- with different themed play areas that change every month or two, an outdoor playground and a big gym with tricycles for rainy days. Can't say enough good things about this preschool! (FYI, the preschool closed during the pandemic then reopened in 2023)

This preschool is FANTASTIC. Just about everything I could ask for. Some of the highlights…read more.. - student/teacher ratio is between 5-6 kids per teacher (for the preK) - actual science projects (as opposed to just watching someone do something) - reading, writing, numbers integrated in. Normally it's not "now it's reading time" but rather reading letters, sounds, numbers just become part of the day. - each student assigned "jobs" - line leader, feeding the fish, selecting the books. Kids get a job every day. - manners!!! Love that my child is expected to look people in the eye and say please and thank you, to have nice manners while eating, etc. - large facility gives kids elbow room. This may not seem like a big deal, but seriously, it is. - Christ and Bible based. Kids learn the biblical stories, learn to ask questions, etc.

Lakeview Montessori provided the best experience in early childhood education for our children and…read morewe are so grateful that they attended the school for many years. The school's approach to child-based learning was a wonderful introduction to the Montessori method, which has set our children up incredibly well for the rest of their education and life! The school's facility is large and open, with beautiful outdoor play spaces and lots of space in each of the classrooms. The teachers are highly qualified and especially caring. Every day our children spent at the school, we know was a day well spent where they learned many subjects, experimented, socialized with peers and were nurtured in a trusting and safe environment. The school's Director, Jayme, runs an amazing establishment and Montessori program. It was very comforting for us to see Jayme and the other teachers and staff everyday. They all knew our children, our family, and made the school a welcoming and inclusive place.

The educators and administration of this school are deeply trained in the Montessori method, and our children were so very well prepared for primary school when they started. We also had a dear teacher and teacher's aides through their time at the school, who cared deeply for our kids, and we miss them! One of the amazing things about this school is the approach to learning and "work." The teachers instill a fundamental desire for students to enjoy their work and gain a deep sense of autonomy and pride that comes from putting their best foot forward. Our son thrived with the pre-math curriculum and he now routinely scores in the 90th+ percentile in math, science and reading in primary school. The learning atmosphere and guidance in personal growth at a young age was top-notch at this school. Lakeview Montessori provides a high level of early learning. We are so grateful to have attended, and that we have this wonderful school in our community.

Why would we hide anything that would affect my child. Also impressive was the effort she puts in for all the kids there. I could see the advancement in my daughter pretty quickly, she started putting together words and soon was reading smaller books. The curriculum is not limited to reading and writing but covers diverse topics on science, math, geography, Spanish and so on and is taught in a way that's easily grasped by these young tots. Even during the pandemic, Shantha took every effort to keep the teaching moving along via online classes with a similar curriculum. I highly recommend this school.
