The name didn't exactly inspire confidence - neither did the fact that I got an appointment for the next day. But, the twenty Euros were already spent, so I took a deep breath, druecked my Daumen, and went in. When I saw my stylist, Doreen, I relaxed. A little. Chic, short, bleached hair? Check. Tatts? Check. All-black outfit? Check. This felt like familiar territory. The clincher came when we sat down for the consultation. She took the time to actually look at my hair before she washed and cut it, to get a better feel for its texture and shape. We then talked about what I like (over the ears, short nape) and what I don't (cowlick curls, heavy bangs/ponys). After a relaxing shampoo and head massage (bliss!), Doreen went all Edward Scissorhands on me. A snip here, a slice there, a spritz of Sea Salt Spray and a dab of Matt Paste and we were done. Perfection! I've been back 3 times since, and have been perfectly pleased with the results every time. No more "business trips" to London for a haircut; no more futilely trying to DIY my 'do with cuticle scissors; no more hiding under hats or headscarves. Thanks to Paco (whoever he may be) and Doreen, I am now follicularly fulfilled.

I first tried another salon in Bonn when I moved here four months ago, but got only a so-so haircut. So, I looked on Yelp and found one review for Hair by Paco that gave it the highest marks. I visited the website, which was super professional, so I decided to give Hair by Paco a try. My hair is thick, wavy, and I wear it in a pixie cut -- a stylist really needs to know both thick hair and short hair very well to make this combo work. Doreen at Hair by Paco was that stylist. She took the time to talk to me about my hair, and really take time to understand my requests made in broken German. The hair wash/massage was amazing, and the cut itself turned out great! Doreen really listened to what I wanted, and did her best to make it happen. I would highly recommend this salon to others. I'm just bummed I'm moving just now that I've discovered this gem of a salon, and won't get a chance to go to see Doreen again.
