Sometimes they aren't there so just call before you come down. The two rooms of the store are filled with an eclectic mix of stuff like jewelry, instruments, clothing, home items, and collectibles. I was interested in the art but it was jammed so tightly in the shelf I couldn't really see it. I think the most unusual item I saw was a ship's porthole. I heard the owners son tell a customer that they had even more things in the back and to come again when his father was back from his fishing trip. If you are looking for something specific it is probably just best to ask them about it. I didn't find anything but I had fun looking. The wife who was working was very sweet. Inventory changes based on what they purchase so you can check in to see new things.

You can tell they put a lot of heart into curating their collection and they had some really incredible pieces. There was a pink & orange velvet sofa that immediately caught my eye. If I was local, it probably would have went home with me that day, haha. I learned that they also rent out their inventory for weddings & events which is such a brilliant idea. They have lots of retro and boho options to fit the vibe you're going for. If there is a particular piece of furniture you're on the hunt for, they will help source it for you, too. They also offer shipping and delivery across the US!

In business for over a decade, owner Jeffrey Chaffi has a knack for selecting the kind of items people actually still want to buy. This is the main Decades store located off of Federal Highway but they also have a second store about a mile away south of Wilton Drive on NE 4th Ave. This store has 4,000 feet of consigned furniture, accessories, and art. As I walked around I couldn't help but notice how many items had hold or sold signs on them. Prices seemed very reasonable and things were moving fast. I only came in to browse but a mermaid Art Deco style lamp sang her siren song to me and next thing I know I had her in hand. I tried to bargain for a discount but apparently she just swam in. I guess if things linger there may be a further markdown but I doubt if anything here lasts that long. Now I am excited to check out their other location. There are so many beautiful and unique items here and they are always turning over making this such a fun store to explore. Just be prepared to buy on the spot if you fall in love with something as I did.

Each department was easy to find. The clothing was separated by gender, style. and season. Some items were completely worn, but other items were brand new! Furniture was also nice and could be cleaned or repurposed for a grander look. Anything that you would need to furnish a home could be found at this store. The prices were reasonable on majority of the items. My favorite section was the shoes. I think this goodwill store is on the A-list of thrift stores in this area.

I was on my way to the new Nordic Bake Shop, another must visit when I spotted their sign that said vintage, one of my loves. Walking into the store is like stepping into a museum except you can buy anything. Amazing treasures await around every corner. They carry furniture, art, sculpture, clothes, and accessories. The jewelry made me salivate. After talking with the owner Karen for awhile I was persuaded to try some silver rings on and of course I ended up with two of them. I have been wearing the heart shaped one every day since my visit. I asked Karen what the oldest piece in the store was and she was a wooden cabinet from France dated 1730 that comes with a ghost! The owner Karen is a sweetheart. I had the best chat with her. She will buy your old jewelry and gold. The jewelry collection here has so many interesting pieces, I really had to hold myself back. When you are looking for that special something that no one else has, pay them a visit.

However, customer service is everything. I arrived at approximately 5:34 PM, even though the posted closing time is 6:00 PM. I knocked on the door and looked through the window. Rather than someone coming to the door to explain the situation, I watched as an employee (or possibly the owner) looked in my direction and mouthed, "It's closed." If you truly needed to close early, all it would have taken was someone walking to the door, explaining the situation, and offering a simple apology. That small gesture would have shown respect for a customer who made the trip based on your posted business hours. I understand things happen, but the lack of basic courtesy was disappointing. A few seconds of communication can leave a lasting positive impression, even when you can't accommodate a customer. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience.

I discovered Previewmod after attending a Yelp event that was held a few doors down. As soon as I came in I was greeted a friendly hello. I loved exploring the small but carefully curated store. They had so many interesting furniture pieces, art, home decor, and even clothing and jewelry. My favorite piece was a marshmallow sofa by Herman Miller in bright red from 1956. It was selling for $3,895 which seems quite expensive but mid century modern is very popular today. Like in all things it is always best to do your research before buying. I did like that they had a lot of things I had never seen before anywhere else and would be very much at home on the set of I Love Lucy. As a fan of history and architecture, this store was a fun discovery.

It's a furniture design I love and know a little bit about, but being only slightly knowledgeable about such things is akin to have no knowledge at all, since it is so unique, somewhat specialized and only attracts a small but avid following. Since Previewmod is in the process of remodeling, I'm hesitant to rate it but some of the pieces they had on display were real gems but, of course, at gem prices such as a Charles Eames (circa mid 1960's) chair. Though listed at a price of $4,200 which one might at first blush consider high, it along with the condition of it actually represents a price I would consider to be somewhere around $600 below the prevailing retail market; hence, a pretty good deal. Beyond their store front, Previewmod also has one of the better such web sites I've seen. If you're really into furnishings of this type, and really only if you're into them, it's a pretty good store in comparison to other stores I've visited that specialize in similar such furnishings.
