When we were finally seated we had a great waitress who shared her recommendations. We landed on the Eggs Benedict and the $19 BUTTERSCOTCH APPLE FRENCH TOAST, which is baked cinnamon & vanilla custard-soaked brioche, butterscotch apples; topped with brown butter oat streusel & Philly whip. Unbelievable. The place was loud and popping on a Sunday around noon. Not intimate, but a fun post-church gathering of hungry souls. Haddonfield itself is a cute little town with what appeared to be a lot of cute dining spots. We will definitely make this our pit stop on future NY - DC sojourns!

The space is clean, modern, and welcoming, and the staff was genuinely pleasant from the start. Julian, our server, greeted us promptly, got coffee on the table quickly, and kept everything moving smoothly. In addition to standard coffee, they offer craft espresso-bar style drinks, which is a nice touch whether you are there for breakfast or brunch. The restaurant also has outdoor seating, not ideal in December, but it would be great in warmer weather for people-watching along Haddonfield's main street. The menu has plenty of options, and I went with the fennel sausage frittata with roasted potatoes and bacon. It was hearty and well executed, the bacon was crisp, the potatoes were crunchy, and the portion was generous enough that I could not finish it. My wife ordered the green goddess roll, which she really enjoyed, though her potatoes came out cold while mine were hot, the only real miss of the visit. We also shared a bowl of lentil soup, which was perfect for a cool day and a nice surprise on a brunch menu. This spot works well for weekdays or weekends, breakfast or brunch, and it does get busy, so reservations are a good idea or be prepared to wait with a coffee. Pricing felt very reasonable for the area, and overall it was a good stop we would happily return to.

I should preface this review by saying that in another life, I will come back as a professional B &…read moreB traveler and reviewer. I have stayed in countless B & Bs and have contacted Select Registry (the B & B directory that highlights luxury inns) four times to suggest myself to become one of their reviewers. They haven't responded, and maybe they shouldn't hire me because I'm brutally honest, picky, and have high standards when it comes to inns. Inns have to pay a hefty fee to be featured that book, so I'd probably piss off their paying inns. But I'd make a lot of them happy, too, because when something is good, I let the world know. But I digress. Let's get back to Haddonfield Inn. I'd like to give them 5 stars because they are a dog-friendly inn. And when I called to book the room, Nicole, the innkeeper's daugher, was such a sweetheart. I really, really wanted this to be a fantastic experience because it's close to NYC, they take dogs, and we could return time and time again. Yay for NJ! We were off to a GREAT start! Right? WRONG. We get here and I go to the restroom to relieve myself. I see that the maid has not yet cleaned the floor... there's hair and dirt on the floor. I know, I know. I'm picky, but for $259 a night, a clean bathroom would be a nice touch. I told the innkeeper (I was very nice and charming about it) and she came to clean it herself. It took her 2 seconds flat. She ran back out and called my name. "Angela, you owe us another $20 because you are only staying for one night. Can I have your credit card again?" Huh?? Now normally an extra 20 bucks would not throw me. But we were told when I booked the room that it was $259 and were sent the receipt in a follow-up confirmation. So I asked her about it and she just mumbled something about the fact that Nicole made a mistake and she was just going to have to charge me the extra $20. I told her that this is not what was told to us when we booked and I had the receipt to prove it. She turned to me and said, "Well, if you aren't happy about it, you can just leave." I stuck my 8-month pregnant belly out (just in case she missed it... doesn't she know that you aren't supposed to mess with a lady who is that pregnant?) and said, "I'm not unhappy, I'm shocked at the way you are treating your customer." She knew she was wrong and after mumbling some comments that I chose not to hear, she said she'd reimburse us the $20. And, to her credit, she wrote us an apology note later in the evening. I would have given this place 2 stars, but because Nicole was such a nice person to us and because they accept dogs, I give them a freebie star.

I was immediately impressed that we were greeted by the owner & innkeeper for the evening as soon as we parked. They gave us a quick tour of the house and showed us to our room. I really liked that Inn is kid friendly. We have a 2 year old daughter, and I've heard most B&B's do not allow small children. Since this was practically the only lodging available in Haddonfield, we were very thankful that we were able to bring the 2 year old on the trip with us. Drinks, snacks, and wine were available at any hour of the day. We really liked our room, but it got pretty chilly on our first night. We could not figure out how to turn on the fireplace in our room. We found out the next morning that the gas was off in the entire house, which was why we couldn't turn the fireplace on. However, they quickly remedied the situation and our room returned to a comfortable temperature in no time. I would return based on the location and the super friendliness of the staff. We really enjoyed our stay.

It was decently packed but service was still rather quick. Service was okay, only thing is that the waitress we had immediately asked us what we would like right after we sat down without giving us a few minutes to look at the menu and then would leave for a minute and come back, but then when we were ready to order we had no idea where she went. We also felt a little rushed towards the end as we were handed the bill when we were both eating but otherwise it was alright. What made up for it all was the food. The tater tot hash was SO SO delicious. Crispy fried tater tots and a generous helping of pulled pork. It was mildly spicy but it packed bold flavors, the tomatoes had a nice acidity that cut through the heaviness. Yum! Also the salad with the avocado toast had a bright delicious tangy dressing, and the pickled red onions were delicious on top of the toast. Parking's available on the street but there's also a parking lot behind the building! I would definitely return again for the food!

Out of all of my visits, my favorite is the weekend brunch menu. There are so many yummy things to choose from like the breakfast burrito, the banana Forester French toast, the various of Benedict's including crab, and there were a bunch of various breakfast sandwiches, but the most menu appealing one that I liked is the pork roll. On my last trip I wound getting a chicken brie apples bacon on brioche bread. It was a special of the day. From the moment I bid into it, I knew I would love it for the savoriness, the crisp and sweet tasting bread. There was a side of potatoes... Very nicely seasoned and the perfect crunch to them. On my last visit, it was a total of 10 people in our group and the customer service was great. We were all able to pay with separate checks... Always a perk. The waiter was super super friendly and kept our coffee refills going. Inside it is busy which could lead away from the quiet ambience, but I didn't mind it at all.

Former home vibe, i was one of the earliest weekday diners. Since it a solo dinner, I opted for a few sides: Kimchi rice Cucumber salad Brussel sprouts (no meat or butter) The cucumber salad was so good, I ordered a second portion!! The tofu burnt ends and bbq jack fruit sounded so intriguing that I almost begged the kind server to ask the chef if they could serve a side portion. Otherwise the bbq is served in pound increments. For my lucky tummy, they obliged and wow those are both delicious vegan options! Maybe next time, i will visit here earlier during my trip to be able to take home leftovers. Booth was cozy and love that water bottle to refill my glass is on my table which sounds weird but I drink alot of water! Small place , would recommend reservations for weekend dining. Parking lot was limited too. Enjoy!

Our waitress seemed a bit flustered, but still very friendly and attentive. We ordered quickly and our food came out really fast. I got an omelette with salad greens. Everything seemed fresh and flavorful. I had zero issues with my food. One of my kids got the French toast with bacon and fruit and the other got a grilled cheese with fruit. Both kids liked the main meal but the fruit was on its way out. Lots of brown and squishy spots. Normally my kids could eat a pound of fruit each, but they both passed on it. My wife got a breakfast sandwich with potatoes. She really wanted fries, but they had none. What breakfast restaurant doesn't have French fries? We thought that was pretty strange. She said the sandwich was fine, but nothing spectacular. My parents shared eggs and potatoes and a pot of decaf. The potato consensus across the table was that they were not good. Too salty and not crispy enough. This was especially upsetting because of the lack of fries. Oh well. They also hated the coffee, but my parents only usually like McDonald's coffee. Boomers. What are you going to do. Everyone agreed we would not be back here, but for me, with the parking lot and satisfied kids, I wasn't too sad about the meal.

The server was very helpful with picking items off the menu and all of his selections seemed to have been good. I liked mine but I probably won't get the waffle again but not because it wasn't good but I used to love waffles but I've moved on to french toast. That beet juice was interesting but tasted very healthy which doesn't mean it didn't taste good. It just wasn't sweet but it was good and it felt like it did something good for my system. We sat right outside of the kitchen so we did get to see all of the plates come out which is what I like to do so I can get inspired if I need some help finding something to eat but the server took care of that for us. I've been to another since and although the service and food was good, this guy was better.
