Aldrich hall is a beautiful red brick building on the Harvard Business School built in the traditional New England style. It was completed in 1965 and has three floors of classrooms. the number system starts with 0xx on the basement floor, 1xx on the 1st and 2xx on the top and third floor. If you enter from the south side of the building, heading up gets you to the 1st floor and down gets you to the basement. If you enter from the north side, you're automatically on the 1st floor.
Each classroom is a small amphitheater seating 60 to 90 students. The rooms feature state of the art technology, has nine beautiful chalk boards, and, though no electronics are allowed during class, each space has two plugs. Everything in the classroom, from the height of the steps, is designed to optimally transfer sounds within the classroom to support the case method of learning. It's a special experience to see a class filled and in action.
Outside the classrooms are sunlit alcoves for students to study. They are quiet and partially enclosed for privacy. It's a read place to catch up on some emails or read a quick magazine.
On each floor, there are white cell phone privacy booths. When one steps inside, all sounds are blocked. While I've personally never seen on in use, it is thoughtful of the school to have them available for those private calls.
The bathrooms are at the ends of the building, and men's and women's alternate floors. You can also find a handicap accessible one on each floor, one of which has a state of the art Japanese toilet. read more
