Whilst I can't get quite a few of the little things on my shopping list, I can get the bulk of it here; fresh veggies, meat, fish, etc.
You really can save money at Aldi. Even if you don't see yourself shopping here longterm, it can help with having a little bit extra left at the end of the month, or saving money up fast. Here's the hits and misses for me:
+
Smoked salmon
The nut mix pack
Steak
Porridge oats
I really didn't notice the difference in quality in any of these items. And arguably, they're better. - The £3.50 sirloin is great. And, honestly, the smoked salmon was probably the best supermarket offering I tried; it really is delicious!

Healthy snacks
Vegetable selection can be a mixed bag
Fresh herbs
The healthier snacks at Aldi tend to be on the sugary side so, for this, I tend to stick to health food shops. The availability of veg is just your luck really. The rest of the shop is usually well-stocked but the fresh vegetable produce is really popular. And if you're looking for fresh spices, Aldi isn't your best bet. Tesco are good for that. And, if you don't mind paying a tad more, Waitrose have the best supermarket fresh herbs in town.
There's a few things on my regular shopping list which I can't get at Aldi. But, I'm cool with that. I've been really impressed with the quality from my shops there so far, especially considering how much it costs.
Service is always friendly and fast. - Seriously, it really is fast! Staff are so efficient, meaning there are no long queue times. This also means a minor freak out on my part when my bagging just can't keep up with their scanning speed. So, my biggest piece of advice when shopping here is to:
1) Just pop everything they scan directly into the trolley.
2) Bag it all up at the side after you've paid. read more
