Grand re-opening of Rocky River Aldi
    Sherri G.

This is my home Aldi and I have anxiously awaited the grand reopening! While the store definitely has been spruced up I have to admit that by the standards of their Avon location I was vastly disappointed. Rocky River should have been as equally glorious and it just isn't. I was lucky enough to also attend their Sheffield Lake grand re-opening and Rocky River paled in comparison. At Sheffield they had tables set up to encourage signing up for their grand opening contest. Rocky River just threw the sign-ups on the counter in a corner by the exit and because it was blocked by so many people if you hadn't known to ask or known what to look for you would have missed it. They did offer free carts to customers for the grand opening and for those of us lucky enough to arrive early we did receive free bags. Additionally whomever their contractor was did little to glamorize the floor tiles in the store. I was shocked that they had so many cracked and broken tiles giving the store and almost old and dirty appearance on their first day. Yes, the store is brighter and more vibrant than before, and yes I will continue to shop here because I love Aldi. Just extreme disappointment at what could have been compared to other locations.

I use to like this location, but since the remodel I cannot find anything and the layout makes little sense.

It's a good Aldi. And I should mention how underrated the wine selection is. You should shop here.

I have to confess that I love to browse Marc's closeouts. You never know what you'll find there,…read moreand today I found a lot of great stuff! This store has a lot of closeout treasures - chalk, bubbles (!), skateboards (for only $24.99), iridescent cups for entertaining, weekender bags, dirt cheap swimsuits (around $4), budget-friendly bras (around $3), summer hats, pillows, and a lot more. Definitely there's a lot of seasonal stuff for gardening (including lots of outdoor plants) and vacations. This store has a lot of clothes including brands like French Connection (wild!) and Target brands. I purchased multiple pants, shorts, and swimsuits. I really appreciated that there was a wide range of clothes for plus size (my size). I also got dishwashing liquid and garbage bags. I spent around $30 which was a steal considering my haul. Service at this Marc's is ok. The employee put my clothes together with dishwashing liquid which could have been a disaster but turned out fine. He was friendly though. P.S. This store also offers delivery through Instacart and DoorDash!

Marc's produce department and close outs department are always awesome!! Marc's deli always has great deals on delicious deli meats and cheese! #SatisfiedCustomer

They have great selections of beef, pork, chicken, and even duck! They have cuts of meat I couldn't even find at the West Side Market!! Really! They'll cut steaks to any thickness you desire, but chances are, it's already in the case. They have tomahawk steaks and every other prime cut with exquisite marbling. K&K also has the always elusive guanciale if you're a fan of authentic carbonara, as I am. I was spoiled in Rome, and now thanks to K&K, I can make carbonara just as I had it on the Borgo Pio. The meat here is fresh and has all the cuts you want. They also have a nice curated selection of wines and other condiments worth considering. Don't get me wrong, I love the West Side Market, I can walk there from where I live. However, it's worth getting in my car and driving to K&K.

The employees are polite, welcoming and knowledgeable! Don't plan on rushing , unless you order early. They will have your order ready upon request if you call a day beforehand. I must say that there is no better grocery store or grocery chain in the country than Heinen's. Ok, Sunset Grocery Stores in Highland Park, IL, and Straubs in St. Louis are a close second. But Heinens reigns supreme. Selection They have a diverse selection of brands of every kind and type so you can choose exactly what you need. Heinens also has a variety of foods, except their downtown location. Even though their stores are huge, it's always easy to find someone to point you in the right direction. Other stores may have people on the floor, but they have no idea what they have or where things are. This store is the perfect size to get exactly what you need and zoom in and out. They have INCREDIBLE prepared foods if you're in a hurry to eat, from meatloaf to meatballs, salads, and spreads. Just incredible. Heinens has an incredible wine selection and they even carry Mexican Coke, which is all I can drink now. They're bakery is awesome too. It isn't that typical in-store bakery with the weird aftertaste of preservatives. It's good enough to be a stand-alone bakery. Their produce is expansive and fresh. I'm beginning to think, if they don't have it, you really don't need it!

I've visited this location many times and especially find it festive during the holiday season. AMBIANCE: This location is a standard WF store - spacious and clean. The store is also organized like other WF for convenience. I prefer it to the University Heights location. FOOD: Food selection is excellent and everything looks fresh! I found some items here that aren't available at my frequented University Heights destination. For instance, fresh breads you can pack yourself, plenty more smoked salmon options, liverwurst, chestnuts, and plenty of hot foods. During my last visit I picked up just a few favorites - smoked salmon, rotisserie chicken, baked bread, liverwurst, and some hot foods. I was very pleased with how easy it is to find everything especially later in the day. Typically, hot foods, bread, and rotisserie chicken are hard to find later in the day. The prices at Whole Foods are on the higher end. The ambiance and quality make it well worth it. SERVICE: The service is okay. The employees are selectively nice. Lines are usually long during busy shopping days like weekends. COFFEE SHOP: I've never had coffee inside the Whole Foods until today. I was very sleepy and needed a pick me up, wasn't in the mood to seek out a coffee shop. I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of coffee drinks like lattes and seasonal offerings. I selected drip coffee, which was $2.75 for a large. I was very happy with this cup of coffee - not too acidic, flavorful, and awakening. CHRISTMAS TREES: There are plenty of Christmas trees - $29.99 for table trees, and $69.99 for regular trees. Table trees were not very lush, but many people were purchasing them. There are plenty of choices here so that you don't have to make a journey to a farm or other market. I enjoy my visits to this store. I look forward to stopping in again soon. Next time I'll try seasonal caffeine drinks!
