This is a clean store and it is very affordable. For me, I normally buy fruit and vegetables from ALDI's. The fruits are always hit or miss for me honestly. I bought some apples here a few months ago and when I opened the bag, I saw that about 4 of the apples had dark spots. I cut open some of the apples and they were not fresh. I appreciate that Aldi's has some organic products. I do love the selection of healthy snacks with ACTUAL ingredients. I normally buy the Choceur brand of chocolates because it's good and has no artificial ingredients. Overall, a 3.5 rating. I do still love Aldi's though and I'm normally at the Lakewood location on west 117th street. P.S. I noticed that they do not sell Alcohol on Sundays. This is my home Aldi and I have anxiously awaited the grand reopening! While the store definitely has been spruced up I have to admit that by the standards of their Avon location I was vastly disappointed. Rocky River should have been as equally glorious and it just isn't. I was lucky enough to also attend their Sheffield Lake grand re-opening and Rocky River paled in comparison. At Sheffield they had tables set up to encourage signing up for their grand opening contest. Rocky River just threw the sign-ups on the counter in a corner by the exit and because it was blocked by so many people if you hadn't known to ask or known what to look for you would have missed it. They did offer free carts to customers for the grand opening and for those of us lucky enough to arrive early we did receive free bags. Additionally whomever their contractor was did little to glamorize the floor tiles in the store. I was shocked that they had so many cracked and broken tiles giving the store and almost old and dirty appearance on their first day. Yes, the store is brighter and more vibrant than before, and yes I will continue to shop here because I love Aldi. Just extreme disappointment at what could have been compared to other locations. read more

I am constantly impressed by this ALDI location! They have one of the best selections of fresh and frozen goodies among other locations, in my opinion. The staff is always spectacular. I am that girl that almost always forgets a quarter and the cashiers are quick to give me a "rental" cart to bag my groceries up. Their COVID procedures have been wonderful too. For a few weeks they had staff outside sanitizing carts. Not sure why they stopped this, but there is still a stand with sanitized wipes outside. They are really great about practicing safe distance and mandating masks too! They have a very large clear sign on the front door and dividers between cashiers and customers. I've been to several ALDI locations in the area and always wind back here! read more

I've always liked this location but I'm even happier with it now with the new remodel. It's a very clean store, you can see the staff runs this location with pride. The customer service is always great as well the staff is always willing to help you find everything you need and if they can't they'll try to find out when they might have the item in. The store is affordable and also has great sales and never seems to run out of sale items (even when avocados are $0.49!!) This location is the #1 place I do my grocery shopping. read more

The early half of February was not kind to my digestive system. A glut of fast foods, soda and convenience items left me feeling sluggish and weak. I decided one Saturday morning to take the fam down to the vaunted West Side Market. They were closed. Still. After some ten days following a small fire that left some smoke damaged pierogi and soot covered baklava in its wake. Was rather surprised it would take longer than that to restore what is undeniably one of our rare economic powerhouses. The produce part was open, but without the accompanying stroll through the indoor market, I just gave up and left. We slogged through another week of bad food. Finally, the realization that we needed to eat something that was once in the ground became imperative. The wife wanted to brew up a batch of veggie soup to last all week. We ended up at Aldi for the first time in about five years. Usually, I handle the shopping duties after work(6 am) at the only two venues open at that time- Giant Grouse or WormMart. The last time we shopped there was when my wife got laid off and we believed we had to pinch every penny possible. That lasted one month. I soon got promoted and she got a new job, so back to the other stores. But this particular Friday found us in search of rock bottom produce prices. Which, the Giant obviously does not offer, and Wal Mart, when other options are available, is a no go. We got about ten lbs of veggies and various frozen items for around thirty bucks. A haul that would normally ring up double anywhere else. And don't buy into the hype that Narc's is cheap! I have compared prices, and they are maybe 20 cents cheaper than the Giant on most items. Plus they're non union, so F that. There are some stipulations. The veggies are not in a fresh open display with misters. They come cellophane wrapped from god knows where. But I gave them a thorough wash and dug in. Now here's the real kicker. I bought a package of their Encore knockoff salisbury steak( a personal favorite my dog and I like to share). That night the headline breaks that some Aldi frozen items claiming to be beef are actually HORSEMEAT. Luckily, mine was not among them. It was mostly lasagna imported from France(?) with its meat originating in the ultra transparent safe food haven that is ROMANIA. Not that I would really object to eating a horse. It would probably have less hormones in it than most industrial cow. But the prospect of my meal bellowing "Hey, Wilburrr" at me is a bit unsettling. All in all, the lowest prices anywhere. Just watch some of those products of mysterious origin. You could be eating a Preakness winner named Papa's Mustache or Fuzzy King Creole. read more

My brother and his wife are avid Aldi shoppers, they have been telling me for a long time to check it out. Me being the stubborn man I am, who also doesn't like change, never went. I also heard that you had to pay a quarter to get a cart, another reason I clung on to helping me avoid a trip to this place. My buddy told me he hates going because you have to pay a quarter for a cart, so he thought. I went with my brother and he dug into his center console for his "Aldi quarter", it turns out you get your quarter back when you re-lock your cart. When I told my friend, he was beside himself. He always left the cart unlocked so the next customer wouldn't have to pay a quarter and be ripped off like him, lmao! Recently, I decided to give it a whirl and let me tell you,"this place is the T-ruth!" I left with a overflowing cart and spent a little over 50$, Giant Eagle that would have been 120$ easy. Mind you, it is not all brand name, but it is not rotten either. I will definitely be returning here for some time to come. read more

The store is clean and spacious. The employees work hard to get you out the door quickly and are always polite. The prices at Aldi are fantastic but you don't always find everything you need. The parking lot is paved well and there's always a good spot. read more

I'm not familiar enough with the other products, but after shopping at ALDI's in Rocky River about a dozen times in two years, I felt I should try to get the attention of others out there who---like me---until two years ago---would drive right past an ALDI's on their way to the next stop on their errand list. After a rash of super-buys the last 3 visits, it's now very likely that I'll become a produce regular for at least the standard variety of fruits and vegetables (plus other reasons), and here's why: 1. CHEAP! Always low-priced; most recently $.89 # for peaches, plums, and nectarines, and $1.99 # for cherries; all delicious---frankly, the best-tasting and least expensive I've had in years. (This last 5 minute quick-stop I saved enough to pay for 2 gallons of gas.) 2. FRESH! If you find a rotten thing or two, please don't write a nasty 1 star review about your squishy, mushy discovery. Be a big boy or girl---c'mon, you can do it---JUST PICK ANOTHER ONE and move on. Rarely happened to me. I've never come across anything that I haven't found elsewhere. . Speaking of elsewhere, about 10 years ago, got home after visiting the West Side Market, removed the two big green peppers from the bag (of course---never seen by my eyes nor touched by my hands until that moment---but picked especially for me by the kindly vendor), cut out the big soft brown spots, and tucked the caterpillar safely underneath bushes in the backyard. (WSM still deserves 4 to 5 *'s depending on visit.) 3. DOUBLE GUARANTEE on ALL PRODUCE Per their website ALDI's will replace the item that you're unhappy with, plus refund your money. Not bad, eh? Other guarantees apply to their brand products, too. 4. QUARTER CARTS Designed to keep carts from being carelessly abandoned in the parking lot. Smart. And certainly not worth complaining about---unless you're anal. A couple of years ago I nearly broke my neck at GE running across asphalt to cut off a renegade cart some bozo just left in the middle of nowhere. And...it...was...flying. Had to block it. Headed right for a car---not even mine---but I couldn't just stand there like a dolt, and do nothing. It could do a couple hundred dollars worth of broadside damage, for sure. Caught it just before impact. ~ Felt obligated to anyone out there who may read this, and, for whatever reason, never checked out an ALDI's. It's different, but certainly not in a bad way. Unlike what you may be accustomed to. They have pretty much the same departments that larger grocery stores have---only way smaller---their own brands of products, and other brands that you may have never heard of. You'll find helpful, friendly employees, too, plus lightening-fast check-out cashiers that sit on stools. As first-timers, all you really need to know: * Have a quarter to unlock a cart from a chain. You'll . figure it out---nothing to it---and you'll get it back. * Bring your own bags, boxes, totes, etc., for your . purchases. I've made it my life mission to convert everyone over to aldis. I absolutely love this store. My mother has been shopping here since I was a child and its amazing to see the transformation over the years. I just want to let everyone know that aldis and trader joes are owned by the same people and often carry the same products. They have amazing prices and there isn't an oversaturation of product choices. Some of my favorite things to get at aldis is the produce. You won't find better prices even at marcs or the west side market. The chicken is always on a great deal as well. The other day I bought Peruvian coffee for only 4.99 and it tastes great! I've been to this location many times. I have bought many products I found to be the satisfactory equivalent of name brand items. Today, I did not. The quality of their brand has greatly gone downhill. To the point I rarely shop there anymore. Today I was surprised with almost all self checkouts now. Listen, there is a very large percentage of people on food stamps that shop there all at once... using 2/3 carts full of food for their family. How TF are they supposed to navigate the tiny self checkouts? I walked up to a "normal" lane today. The cashier got up, announced to the front end, she need to do a deposit because she had too much cash, then left me there. Another person said I could follow them to another register, but all of my groceries were on the belt. After I pointed to everything saying I can't just pick all this up quickly and move over she started grabbing stuff then cut people that had now been told to go to her line. It's a train wreck!!! Put associates at the beginning of lines to help and direct customers. Don't treat customers like crap in a line that magically disappears , then stop lowering the quality of your products . I'll be there this weekend to get a refund for the crap products I bought and pitched after cooking. read more

I am definitely a fan and shopped at the "old" Aldi's since it opened. Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble finding things?! The new order of products/aisles is completely confusing to me and not particularly intuitive. I find myself circling around several times each visit. The produce is especially confusing and not sure why they separated crackers from the other chips, pretzels, etc. End caps seem random too. That said I keep coming back! Aldis is the best and least expensive, clean, well organized grocery store in the area to buy fresh produce, dairy, and basic pantry items, as well as basic baking items and cereals, frozen vegetables, cooking oils and so on. The prices are approximately 40% lower than anywhere else in the area. Their double money back guarantee can't be beaten. (I once bought a half ham from Aldis. It was vacuum sealed; however, when I got home I discovered the seal was broken. This can happen at any grocery store. I took the ham back the next day, and even though I did not have my receipt, they allowed me to get a replacement ham with no fuss, no questions asked, even though the ham I chose was much more expensive than the one I originally purchased). I've been shopping here since they opened, which is more than 3-4 years now, probably lots longer than that. Their signature brand knock off on name brand items are as good as, or many times, better than name brand items, including their reduced fat knock off of Hellman's mayonnaise. The only item I've ever gotten here that I didn't like is their version of greek yogurt, which for some reason, doesn't taste good to me. I regularly shop at Aldis, bagging my own items in my own bags (or you can buy their very substantial and reusable plastic bags for $0.10 each or paper bags for $0.06 each.) The amount of money I save shopping at Aldis is unbelievable. The store is always clean, the aisles are wide and things are placed in a logical order. The service is excellent. The food is excellent. The prices cannot be beaten. The check out people are lightning fast, and I am not exaggerating. Although Aldis is not a sexy, trendy place, it has a way-cool vibe for me as it allows me to save about 40% across the board on my grocery bill and if that's not cool, well, then I'm simply a happy nerd with more money in my bank account. read more

I kept avoiding this store, but recently they've gone organic so they hooked me. Plus, grapevine has it that their brands are just re-packaged major brands. Actually, I purchased this delicious Puttanesca which I once could buy at Earth Fare, but EF stopped carrying it. So just before I'd decided to order it online, I checked at Aldi's, and to my delight they had it. It was re-packaged -- however, in the directions on their label they'd overlooked removing the name brand (typo, of course) so I knew it was the exact same Puttanesca I'd purchased at EF, and for $5 less.
