I shopped from here for some items I really needed and I was more than happy. Everything was in stock and checkout was a breeze.

Love it. This is the best Aldi's I've ever shopped at. It is always well stocked and clean and the workers are very pleasant.

I've only been to this Aldi on a few occasions but each time I notice new food items which is always exciting although a great deal of it is pre-packaged. The prices are very good and the store is clean. Last night I stopped in for coffee and my habit was tested to the limit. I stood in line for 35 minutes to purchase that one item. They could either use (a) more help, there were only two lines open, (b) a 10 items or less line, it seems hella unfair to make people with a few items wait after people with full carts, or (c) take those chairs away from the cashier's because I swear it makes them slower. read more

Well stocked and understaffed location. Like all Aldi's they have excellent products for low prices. This location is one I visit frequently and there are never enough cashier's available. During rush hours there are often only one or two cashiers with lines stretching to the back of the store. Seriously. Nonetheless, this are often stocked well here and I do not notice empty spaces frequently. There is parking available as well. Easy access, low prices, and convenient location are the high points. Minus one star for perpetual understaffing and the need to bring a quarter to use a shopping cart. read more

I need to do more shopping here. There's a parking lot and the prices are right, especially compared to Whole Foods down the street. I still don't have a good lay of the land, but its easy enough to wander and find what you need. I've never had a problem with freshness or quality of meats or produce. It kills me that they don't provide shopping bags, but I guess that's good for the earth. It's a plus that there's a liquor store next store for one-stop shopping. read more

I love this store! It's the only grocery store in the neighborhood and thankfully has pretty decent food. I've never been an Aldi shopper until I moved to the area so I was hesitant about the quality of food. However, the food is usually fresh and this location does a good job of restocking shelves. They sell a lot of affordable produce in bulk, like your basic onions, garlic cloves, and oranges. At first I found this irritating because I was afraid the food would spoil before I had a chance to eat it all, but fortunately the bulk items store really well! I have found that I save good money purchasing the bulk items. Aldi finds are always fun to browse. Quite a bit of "name brand" food items will show up, but I've found that even Aldi brand foods taste similar to name brands. There have been a couple items I suggest skipping and purchasing else where such as toilet paper, pizza rolls, and the tomato soup. But, seriously those are the only three items I avoid at Aldi. The only thing I'd say I wish they had more of a selection of is ethic/cultural foods. It's difficult to find any Asian or Latin American food items here. And pleaseeee start stocking shallots!! I HATE having to go to Whole Foods for a shallot. Staff at this location do a good job. They are quick at the register, friendly, and always restocking food. I personally don't like chatting it up at the register, and I like how quickly I can get through the check out process without having the cashier tell me their life story. Some reviews have said the staff don't say hello, but that hasn't been my experience. Lastly, I'd like to address the review that said the cream cheese had a "moldy" like flavor. Give me a break. There is nothing wrong with their cream cheese. It tastes just like the Philadelphia brand cream cheese. Furthermore, I am quite offended that particular review ended with "Buyer Beware this is a high crime area". Another BLATANT LIE!!!! This is a safe neighborhood location and has a well lit parking lots. Lots of families live in this neighborhood and shop at this store. This neighborhood has great people living here and this Aldi store has been a great addition! read more

This location is tucked in the heart of Brewerytown. In the former Bottom Dollar. I was being noisy and what to see what it looked like inside. To my surprise is is super clean, warm and inviting. All aisles are fully stocked and organized. A quarter gets you a cart. You might need one if you browse. Lol. So much stuff. The staff is friendly. I have never seen cashiers with seats before. It's pretty cool. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. I bought a bag of sweet potato chips. It's good! read more

I was pleasantly surprised by Aldi. I have never been in one, but it was clean. The cashiers were so much more friendly and efficient than other food stores. The produce was fresh and at least 10-20 cents cheaper per pound than other food stores. They also have an organic section, but from what I saw it was mostly frozen. Aldi is similar to Trader Joe's because they are owned by the same person. There is plenty of parking in the lot and on the street. They have commercials stating that they accept credit cards, but I'm going to state that this store is cash preferred. At least for now. Bonus: Aldi is right next to the liquor store, which is a huge convenience in Pennsylvania. read more

I purchased cream cheese there beginning of January 2019 which was on sale for approximately .69c a package. The expiration dates were several months from now on all the packages I purchased. I got four of them. Each package had an "off" moldy-like flavor, like they were ready to turn totally bad. I just purchased more of them today (a few weeks after the sale) for approx. $1.29 a package, and the taste is much better (a normal tasting cream cheese flavor). This leads me to believe that this Aldi location will sell tainted products at a deep discount, instead of trashing them. Buyer beware at this Aldi location (high crime Philly area). AMAZING PRICES! There is no comparison to any other super market. You will 100% get the best deals here. This location is located right off Girard Ave. It has a spacious parking lot. I have never had an issue finding a spot. It is right next door to wine and spirits so you could take advantage of that too! It is always well stocked. The employees are super nice and helpful. Aldi is the best place to spend as little as possible on food. If you're not too particular with diet restrictions, you can buy a lot for a little. The store is always well stocked and the cashiers are typically pleasant, even with the mile long lines. This is a much cheaper alternative to Whole Foods. This new aldi is a savior of mine. I live right around the corner and it's awesome to have a grocery store and a liquor store right next to eachother! Makes party shopping so much easier. The selection is good and the food is really fresh. I actually really like the dry goods selection too. Lots of fun interesting options that I'd be willing to peruse. For those who are trader joe's enthusiasts, I recommend aldi. It doesn't have the glam of trader joe's but the same concept of a store hay focuses heavily on the outside aisles and not a lot of processed foods. this is a really great aldi with a super spacious parking area which i love. I have never had a problem finding anything i wanted and it is very well stocked. I have seen a few reviews that said that the cashiers weren't friendly but the ones that I have had have been extremely friendly and welcoming. I recommend. Recently moved to the west Girard area and decided to check out this ALDI as it's in close walking distance. Good selection with great prices. Everything seems to be in order and clean. The only problem I got was the cashier who did not communicate with me at all. I said "hello", and got response. I said "thank you" after she handed me my receipt; still no response. Also no facial expressions of any kind. Just rude and has no conventional social behavior even though she works in retail. read more

Aldi is perfect for my needs. This neighborhood has poor supplementary grocery stores. Between corner stores and beer take-out shops, you can barely piece together a weeks worth of food. Aldi is the perfect combination and right balance of frugal shopping and quality foods. They have some name brand staples for your cravings and for quality assurance and they have some off-brand surprisingly high quality items to help keep some coin in your pocket. It doesn't have everything EXACTLY how you'd like it or exactly the name brand you've become accustomed to, but it does well on selection for the price range. Managers, cashiers and security are professional, helpful and friendly. Bring a quarter for a shopping cart(it WILL be returned), and a reusable shopping bag or be prepared to buy a few bags for cheap. If you have time, hit up the wine and spirits next door. They make a great one-two punch on my trips. read more

Grand open eve thing was so neat. Customers service was great. And the Mangers was walking around checking on the Customers and made sure you found everything you was looking for. The Sale person that was the door was doing good handing out the Welcome reusable bag with goodie in them. I was a huge fan of Aldi and promoted the store frequently. The staff is great and friendly and the store is clean but I have noticed in the last month ALL OF THE PRICES have gone up drastically. I don't know why they are raising the prices 50 to 60% overnight? I think folks need to go back to Shoprite and check out their prices again. This store has everything you need at cost effective prices. Clean, well stocked and the employees were friendly and super helpful. I love ALDI, and this is a pretty good one. It's clean and organized and the staff is helpful. I've had some cashiers trow stuff into carts. I know thats how they're trained to move efficiently but theres some stuff you shouldn't do that with. You also will definitely get solicited for the quarter in your shopping cart when you're done. read more

This isn't a review of this particular location as much as it is a review of Aldi all together. This location was clean, neatly stocked, and the staff members gave great customer service. And that's how they got 2 stars. Aldi's gimmick is that they cut out a bunch of things like name brands, bags for your food, and ...customer service departments, to give you low low prices on food. This is just false. The prices were no different than any other supermarket. Their knockoff brands are the same price as the name brand stuff. Also, when they actually have a good deal, like a knockoff version of a dyson vacuum (Easy Home Cordless Cyclonic Stick Vacuum) for $69, it'll be out of stock before it's ever "in-stock." I went to 3 locations for this item on the first day of the sale, and no one had it. It seems like false advertisement. You can't call customer service, because that doesn't exist. I sent and email to see if they could tell me where it they have it in stock. 2 days later they send me a generic email that says: "Thank you for reaching out to us. This item is part of our Special Buy Program, which allows us to provide customers with unique items available for a limited time. Due to the limited space in our stores, we are unable to carry every item consistently throughout the year, therefore we offer these items only on occasion. The item you are inquiring about is currently unavailable, however. We appreciate your suggestion for us to carry this item on a more frequent basis, and this suggestion has been forwarded to our buying department for further review. Thank you for your interest in our products as well as your continued patronage at ALDI. Kind regards, ALDI Customer Service PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE" Bottom line: don't believe the hype the prices ain't right. Aldi is the only store for me. It's clean and there's always parking if you need it or the trolley is right out front. Nice selection of organic produce, awesome cheese selection, baking stuff and kitchen staples and everything is hella cheap. (Don't @ me about your Acme or whatever being cheaper - it's not.) The employees stocking the shelves are super helpful and happy to check for something if it's not shelved. The cashiers are fast. This store was and is a much needed addition to the neighborhood. I signed up on Yelp specifically to compliment the cashiers, security and rest of the staff at Aldi's on Girard. The cashiers are efficient, professional, courteous and friendly. Having shopped at other grocery stores in the area from Parkside all the way down to South Philly, Aldi's cashiers are by far better than most-- similar to the cashiers and staff at their sister company Trader Joe's. I also ditto what others have said about the neatness of the store. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I don't always prefer Aldi's brand over brand names - like granola bars for example. In general, brands are comparable. read more
