Fast, friendly and convenient. We come here quite often and have had no issues. Prices are hard to beat too.

If the roads don't get you, the Lanesville…read more This is a tiny little town which is in the extended suburs of Louisville KY but feels more like a little rural village. It's just across the border in Indiana. A lot of people don't realize that a lot of the Louisville burbs are in Indiana, as the city is right along the river which is the state line. It's right off I-64 heading west to Evansville. I have very good friends in Evansville, but one of them recently moved here (to be closer to work in Louisville) and she loves it. I've stayed with her once only, but it was a lovely and peaceful place. Far too Republican for me but still lovely. Their claim to fame is the Lanesville Heritage Festival which has some delicious food. There are literally only 500 people living in this town that is more of a village, but I'm happy that one of them is my lovely friend. Don't ask the locals about pet pythons though.

The…read moreHeritage Festival is truly a country event featuring more farm machinery that you can imagine. You need to take your time when strolling the displays because some of the antique farm equipment is really interesting. You will get a totally different view of what and how hard farm life actually is! I actually purchased a Hug A Farmer t shirt I was so impressed. We take for granted that food is readily available..thanks to these folks! The festival has the usual midway with rides for the kids they have lots of exhibits and vendor booths! One booth features the Crazy Wreath Lady who makes the most beautiful wreaths in the area. Make sure you check out the homemade apple butter area which is located next to the chicken and dumplings serving area. This is one eat and eat again event that is a must attend! That's why I return to Lanesville Indiana every year to celebrate our Hoosier Heritage!

I can only speak to the Hot bar/salad bar as I did not venture further than that. I was visiting…read morewith a friend who was staying at a nearby hotel and we decided on the ease and convenient location from the hotel for dinner. We each surveyed the entire selection of ready to eat food. The salad bar was extensive and looked fresh even though it was almost 8pm. The hot food was not as appealing and maybe that was because it was so late in the day. I was impressed with the soup selection. There must have been 10 different soups to choose from. It is self serve. I had a cup of spinach tortellini soup that was filling but a tad bit spicy for me. I also had some orange chicken and brocolli. It was warm but not hot but very tasty. I also had an egg roll. This was a bad choice. It had been sitting for hours, was greasy and cold. Overall a decent place to grab some fresh, hot food pretty quickly. You can self checkout easily. Food is priced by weight. An icon on the self checkout says, hot bar, you pick the kind and size of container you used and it weighs your food. There is a condiment bar as you exit the self pay station for plastic ware, salt, etc. Plenty of parking as it is located in a strip mall.

She would not accept my return even though I had a return code for Whole Foods location through Amazon, because it would not fit in their box. My wife and I love Meijer, and when we moved to Georgia back in 2015, it was one of the things we…read moremissed most. Meijer has a large selection of pretty much anything you might want at competitive prices in line with other grocery stores. We still travel a few times a year and saw the sign for this Meijer location on our way through Owensboro while heading up North to visit my wife's family. It is one of our regular stops to stock up on non-perishable items on the way home, and we still find it to be a great place to shop. They have a large fresh produce section with quality items, and the meat and seafood departments are big and good. We try to pack a cooler with us to pick items up on the way home when it is functional to do so. My wife loves to browse the health and beauty section, but she never fails to find ladies' clothing items on clearance or special and picks up new items on virtually every visit we make. But, the best aspect of shopping at Meijer is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. On our last visit, we used the self-checkout lanes, and I was having difficulty using my MPerks card. I hit the button for assistance, and the lady who arrived to help took full ownership of the problem. While I told her it was not a problem and probably a temporary glitch she called two other staff members to help find a resolution for us and make it right. That is service that is above and beyond any other store we visit. Our only problem with Meijer is that they do not have a store in Dawsonville, GA, or anywhere closer to us than Bowling Green, KY. If for no other reason, we continue to patronize Meijer due to their wonderful customer service and their great staff.
