I'm generally very pleased w/ everything I buy at Aldi's. It's rare that I have the urge to return first-time purchases. I've been buying their Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for years. Within the last three weeks though the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream has tasted totally different, for the worse. I even switched to Chocolate, but found this flavor to have been remarkably cheapened. Have we changed purveyors? Have we cheapened the formulation to "combat inflation to maintain our margins? I don't know what the hell's going on, but I've bought my last tub. This was the first time at this location and I was pleasantly surprised!!!!! The layout was different than the normal one I visit. The shelves were fully stocked, store clean and the line went by quickly! We were looking for frozen wings but they were all sold out. That's ok, we'll be back! Don't forget to bring a quarter for the basket and you're own bags! I purchased some frozen mussels and looking forward to cooking with garlic butter sauce! Yes. Great prices on what they carry. Small, clean store with limited stock. 3 star rating due to: Zero customer service. Lines are long and cashiers are not pleasant. I'm sensing a negative work environment. Two employees were not wearing masks. The cashier was wearing her mask over her mouth only. I only shop here because it is literally the closest store to my house, and they have great prices. I do not shop here for the customer service - go to Publix for that. read more

This is just one of the many produce items I received that were rotten and clearly damaged. Bananas were browning at an early green stage and did not fully ripen to yellow.The kiwis were mushy. Additionally, both bags of red and yellow onions were molding. the quality of the produce is clearly poor and possibly detrimental to health if consumed. The molding on produce can create bacteria that will spread to other produce products which can contaminate the other produce in the store. I am concerned for the food management and storage at the Aldi on Tampa road in Oldsmar. read more

There are 3 Aldi stores that I go to. This is my favorite and the one I frequent the most. I was happy when this shopping plaza opened a brand new Aldi because the other that's close to me is kind of crusty. I come to this one when all I'm doing is going to Aldi or if I'm doing something in this direction. This is the cleanest Aldi I've been to. The Simply Organic brand has grown over the years and since my household is about 80% organic food, this is the least expensive organic option out there. Organic milk is less expensive here as well and is under the Friendly Farms brand. Chiquita organic bananas are extremely cheap here. I can't bare to buy organic bananas at Publix anymore knowing I'm paying 4x the amount. The specialty foods and cheeses are awesome too. Since Aldi is German owned there are many foods from Germany, Denmark and Belgium. You'll also find Italian and Spanish imports here as well. A lot of the chocolate sold here is UTZ certified. The other great news is that since Aldi Nord (one divisions of Aldi) owns Trader Joe's you'll find the same type of quality private label grocery items in an Aldi. It may just be a variation of something you'll find at Trader Joe's. I also get my Fresh flowers from Aldi on the weeks I don't make it to Trader Joe's now too. Remember to bring your own shopping bags and a quarter for a shopping cart before you shop! read more

Pretty busy today for the grand opening. To be expected though. A lot of these folks have probably never shopped at an Aldi. This was evident by the amount of people trying to use credit cards, who obviously didn't know that Aldi is DEBIT ONLY. There were actually so many folks there for opening that they had no carts available because they were all in use. So to compensate, they were giving away free Aldi bags. They were also handing out $5 off coupons. So yeah it was a little crazy. The store was fully stocked, as you can imagine. The one thing I couldn't find though was the fit n active section where all of the healthier options are. Perhaps it was just too busy. I'll snoop around next time since the joint is only a few miles down the road. Much closer than the less-than-stellar Town & Country locale. This Aldi is pretty large as well. It seems very close in size to the one on US 19. If they have the chicken sausage links, pick them up! They're seasonal, delicious and versatile. Use them in gumbo, pasta dishes or just on a bun. I've had the chicken sausages from Publix and Trader Joe's, but Aldi reigns supreme. No joke. I stockpile them. La Chica makes fun of it and calls it my "sausage collection," but trust me, she ain't laughing when I cook dinner. Lastly, try the 16" take and bake pizzas; they're damn near pizzeria quality. So excited about this new location. Whenever I'm in Clearwater, I often go to the location in Clearwater which is a challenge because of where it's located on 19. I've also been to the one in Port Richey, but didn't realize how up there that location was. This Oldsmar location is my favorite. It's brand new. The area looks pretty nice. The parking is easy, and the store is clean. They for the most part have all the usual stuff I am looking for, and the service was friendly and quick. As always, bring your bags, or look for empty boxes in the store. Bring your quarter for the cart. Bring your cash or debit card. They have upped their advertising, so check out their sale papers, their seasonal sales, and their recipe brochures. They are pretty nice too. read more

I don't usually review grocery stores, but since Aldi is my jam and I think some people who don't know about it may be skeptical, I wanted to put the word out there. I usually go to the Clearwater location but ventured out to check out Oldsmar recently. This location was clean, well organized and easy to navigate. Also had enough registers open so there wasn't a long line to pay at the end. Seriously, Aldi is the best for getting your kitchen and pantry staples without breaking the bank or having to deal with coupon clipping. I love Aldi for their dry goods, frozen specialties and rock bottom prices on things we use often like frozen meat, cheese, etc. They also have a nice selection of German chocolates and craft beer/wine for a great value. (Chocolate and beer? Sign me up!) The produce is hit or miss. They have great prices but sometimes run out of things or don't have everything you might need. In that case I will stop by the produce stand to fill in the blanks if needed. I don't love their steak and red meat selection, but we don't eat much of that anyway so not a deal breaker for me. Aldi is no frills, in order to keep cost low and save big bucks on your groceries, so bring your own bags and a quarter for a cart. Overall I love Aldi. If you're skeptical, don't be. I love Aldi. I'm a total fanatic about the store. The greatest part is, they are now offering TONS of organic items and also certified gluten-free items! So now you can eat fewer chemicals and if you're afflicted with celiac disease you can spend less on some of your favorite foods like pasta and snacks. I do not mind that Aldi doesn't take credit cards (only debit with pin or cash)...it helps them keep their prices low. I do not mind that (like IKEA) you need to bring your own bags or buy bags from them...it helps keep prices low AND helps keep plastics out of the environment! I do not mind needing a quarter to get a shopping cart...this also helps keep prices low. I've been nothing short of thrilled with everything I've gotten from Aldi and I couldn't be happier to find this one relatively close to work. I really really really wish we had one convenient to the Heights neighborhoods (Tampa Heights, Seminole Heights). Some of my favorite items are: Biscoff cookies Pumpkin seed tortilla chips Girl Scout Samoas knockoffs Frozen pizzas Marinated pork loins Lean ground beef and turkey Pumpkin waffles Spaetzle All the organic canned goods Ranch flavored mini rice cakes Almond milk Cheeses...nothing fancy, but string cheese, shredded cheese, feta, and goat are great staples Spinach-feta chicken sausage read more

This is a nice Aldi. It is fairly large & has a good variety. What always surprises me about Aldi's stores is there wide variety of glutten free & organic products in all areas, at very fair pricing. I love the produce area, but as always know your prices, but $1.29 for Green Giant fresh asparagus, will always soften my heart. No that is not the everyday price, it is a sale price you will seldom to never see. They have large amounts of food displayed: dry goods, canned, boxed, fresh, chilled, frozen, living & specialty sales weekly. Usually there weekly specialty sale has a theme, ie.: kitchen, pet, college, Holiday, storage.... The one thing I hate, is they will have a sale on a special item. You buy it, try it, love it & can never find it again, now that sucks. If I ever see them again I would stock up, but alas, I never see them. I have inquired & the sores don't do any ordering. What they receive, that's it, no imput. Also if they run out of a weekly specialty item, same senerio, you are SOL. I don't mind bring my bags, I do that wherever I grocery shop, it's just environmentally friendly & good for our earth. I don't mid the quaternary to get a cart, that you get back when returning your cart, once again, just me, I like to put things back where I got them & not junk up a parking lot. This was a clean & busy store. Usually with Aldi checkout is a bit slow, due to a lack of cashiers. one thing all buyers need to REMEMBER, this chain, is owned by Trader Joes. I would bet & have compared many store brand items from both stores & cannot tell which came from the more expensive Trader Joes. Give it some thought. What's a girl to do? As far as Aldi locations go, this one is a great option. New and fresh, this no frills grocery store offers your necessities and a bit more (although I don't remember seeing health and beauty aids). We strolled in on a Friday night and walked the "aisles". We were amazed at some of the prices and their produce looked really good. For $7.50, we walked out with fresh Bibb lettuce, fresh asparagus, pesto sauce and baked pita chips. Not too shabby. read more

I have turned into a huge Aldi's fan. It isn't a store where I can meet all my grocery shopping needs BUT it is a store that keeps adding affordable organic options. I always stock up on organic items as black beans, diced tomatoes, organic spices, brown rice quinoa, gluten free pasta etc. They are owned by the same company as Trader Joe's and sell cage free organic eggs, grass fed ground beef, their own brand called Simply Nature that is excellent, Almond Milk, nitrate and hormone free bacon and so many interesting imported items. They also always stock a small selection of organic produce including potatoes and have organic salad selections in their refrigerator case. If not looking for healthy food I have tried and highly rate their cheesecake, ciabatta bread and croissants. Specialty cheeses are often found including grass fed KerryGold at much lower prices than Publix. Their paper goods are good and inexpensive and very comparable to the name brands they state. They now accept credit cards, still need to bring a quarter if you want to use a cart, point is they keep prices down as most will return their cart to the front of the store for their quarter back rather than leave it in the parking lot for employees to retrieve. I always keep reusuable bags but Aldi's keeps their empty boxes for customers to use if they need them to tote their groceries. read more

This place intrigues me. I never know what I will find inside. The assortment of foods and goods seems to be ever-changing, depending on the time of year and what would most likely be in demand. I wondered around the store browsing during my first visit but this time came prepared to shop. That meant bringing something to bag my purchases with an having a quarter ready to "rent" a shopping cart. The quarter is refunded when you park your cart post-shopping so it doesn't really cost anything but seems a little unnecessary. But I guess it beats having shoppers abandon their carts in the parking lot and leaving carts scattered in all directions. I have visited the Aldi on West Hillsborough and it seems to be a little larger in size and stock more items but the parking lot is not as user-friendly to enter and exit from as the Oldsmar location. Most prices seem to be very reasonable or at least comparable to similar products at other stores. I think one of the big attractions for shopping here is the variety of what's in store and the fact that these are not ubiquitous brands that are everywhere, all the time. The other little quirk that could put some people off is that, at least when I visited, credit cards were not accepted. Cash or debit cards will save the day but that's only helpful if you know before you go. When I have the luxury of enough time to leisurely look and want to expand my eating horizons beyond the multi-national corporate brands, this is the place for me. read more

Aldi is a weird, yet somehow entertaining experience for me. The bring your own bag concept prevents waste so I think that's a good thing. Their fit and active sugar free jam is superb. You'd never know it was sugar free. Their vegetables and fruit are the cheapest I've found. But, and it's a big hairy but, you've got to contend with the some odd characters shopping there. I don't mean "Dawn of the morbidly obese Living Dead" like you find at a Walmart, but odd nonetheless. Their Belgium Blue Moon knock off is fantastic and at the price, hard to beat. read more

Aldi is a great store, Period. No, they don't have a lot of things that I usually buy here, but what they do have is fantastic prices on produce. I bought 5 pineapples today for 1.29 each . 1.09 for 2 1/2 lbs of organic bananas, 4.69 for a 3lb bag of organic apples! Amazing! Grass Fed organic beef 5.49! Great price. I could go on and on, but I think u get the point. U can't beat the deals here. The girl at the register said it's the biggest Aldi in florida too, and it's close to home. So happy:-) the only thing is that today is opening day and it was really packed. I don't have that much patience with big crowds and it showed today. People were just gathered in the aisles like a herd of cattle. They see u, but don't move out of the way. They don't care. I literally at one point moved a lady's cart out of the way on my own because she just sat there when I and 5 other people were trying to pass through. People were thanking me for it. She just looked at me. I should have gotten my coffee before shopping which was adding to my already short patience.. Not good. Other people were gathered around the sample areas and blocking aisles. U would think they were giving away free caviar and champagne .. Give me a break, it's only cheese and crackers ! Well, after a lot of crazy Greek eyes, eyerolls, excuse me's, moving of a persons cart. I made it through . Anyways, if your patience is short like mine, u might want to wait a few days. read more

I have been coming to this store for some time now and have always been greeted with courtesy by everyone there, until yesterday. The young lady that I later found out was a manager (Jennifer) walked up to where I was standing with my cart while picking out my dairy items. She simply opened the door to the dairy section without as much as a word or a smile, a "hello", an "excuse me", a " thank you" when I moved my cart to allow her some space, nor a second glance when she left. I have worked retail for many years and was always very courteous because I was there to help/assist my customers, and also because, quite literally without them I would not have received a pay check. I will go back to that store because I like that store but, will try to not go again when she is working. I might add that I am also from Germany. read more

I like Aldi for snack foods. Very yummy. Unfortunately I asked the manager where an item would be and he treated me like I was his last priority. I asked him where this salad dressing was that they carried at the other stores would be. He scoffed and replied "I don't think we carry that item here." Yesterday I shopped at this Aldi for the first time. It will be my last. I purchased a package of zucchini which were the size I wanted. When I got home and unpacked them, the first I took out was damaged slightly. The damage was hidden in the package. The fourth one was absolutely rotten. On the underside was a large cut which had to have been visible to the packer. I could take them back, but the time and distance from my home make it pointless. Buyer beware of any packaged produce.
