They do try to have signs like the dumplings in the photo I but there are many products that don't, like the flavored feta cheese I was trying to figure out. The price wasn't bad for the amount of things we had in the cart. I just hope we can make what we bought. I would recommend this store because it has so many great things to buy. The space is no where as large as the produce areas inside the Reading Terminal Market, but they make good use of what they have, filled with fresh fruits and veggies, selling their own home grown products and that of locals when in season. I've never had a bad experience here, they supply the stand with what they think they will sell in three days and it's always fresh, firm and in great shape. Ha, we are talking about fruits and veggies here. I bought some of the best sweet corn here this summer and their blackberries were so huge and sweet. Squash and Brussels sprout season is coming up and I will go crazy over buying, because I love the stuff. I've never met a fruit or veggie that I did not like and there is always a wide variety here to choose from. Oh and they have a cooler filled with fresh squeezed orange juice, it's so cold and sweet and it's nearly impossible to pass up. Their prices are fair and they are open year 'round, but only on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Can you say Ratatouille!

I introduced myself and explained that I was interested in purchasing approximately 15-20 medium-sized pumpkins, ideally around 8-12 inches, and asked whether the store might consider offering a discount for a bulk purchase. Unfortunately, the interaction became uncomfortable almost immediately. The male employee who answered responded, "I don't know what you're asking." I apologized and tried to clarify that I was asking about purchasing 15-20 pumpkins, approximately 10 inches in size. He responded, in an increasingly impatient tone, "Pumpkin what?" and then, "I don't know what inches they are." At that point, I tried to make my question as simple as possible. I said that the exact size did not matter and asked whether, if I purchased 15-20 pumpkins of any size, the store would consider offering any type of bulk discount. He raised his voice and simply yelled, "NO!" I remained polite and replied, "Okay, no problem. Thank you so much..." Before I could even finish my sentence, he hung up on me. What bothered me most was not that the store does not offer bulk discounts. A simple, polite "No, unfortunately we don't offer discounts for bulk purchases" would have completely answered my question. It was the unnecessarily rude, impatient, and dismissive way I was spoken to--and being hung up on while I was still politely thanking him--that made this such an unpleasant experience. I do have an accent, and during this conversation I felt particularly uncomfortable because I repeatedly tried to clarify my question politely while the employee became increasingly impatient and raised his voice. Regardless of someone's accent or how many times a question needs to be clarified, a customer should be treated with basic courtesy and respect. I called intending to purchase 15-20 pumpkins from this business. Instead, the way this phone call was handled made me reconsider giving them my business.

The burgers were great and the price even better. Real hand formed perfectly cooked patties juicy and overloading the bun. We went back later in the week to check out their breakfast and they knocked that out of the park as well. No skimpy breakfast sandwiches here. Pork roll and cheese piled high on a fresh Kaiser roll did not disappoint. The staff was primarily younger but understood good work ethic, and you could tell took prince in what they were serving. I am hoping it was a fluke that it was not as crowded as in the past because a generational cornerstone like Steyer Orchard is a treasure. Stop in and see them. Open daily.
