When I went to Kent State, we had nothing but Chipotle and pizza and other collegey food stops, so it's amazing to see how deeply the tide has turned around dining options off campus at my beloved Kent State. Located within the Acorn Alley development, The Fruit Stand has an easy parking lot (and I believe it may have even been the former Popped popcorn location). You build your own bowl with base, toppings and fruit. So easy! The staff is super helpful and will be happy to help you build something delicious. My bowls are always AMAZING, fresh and filled with so much flavor. You really cannot beat the value for this fabulous fruit bowl. I could honestly count down until they moved to CLE if they ever did. Good pies. Prices on these are reasonable. The health items range from cbd to vitamins. And the plants and flowers are beautiful and you can also get good sale prices on these. The outdoor display area for plants is larger than it looks and has lots of varieties. They have a vegan section. They can make sandwiches. You can make your own juice. So yeah, I was gonna drag my bf in this tiny shop no matter what! It was in the main drag of the festival so we just walked in and waited just a couple of minutes before it was our turn. Briefly, the popcorn is great, flavors are creative (see picture), kernals are a little stale, but generous for the price! We each tried two flavors, him savory and me sweet, and then shared a small bag ($4.75) while watching college football once we got to my house! I got a bag with half apple pie and half a sweet flavor covered in brownie batter. So good! We both agreed the brownie was the better of the two. I am looking forward to buying from this brand again. I hope to see them in stores! It is a VERY indulgent snack though so be mindful of calories and sugar!

We have been coming to the market for over 5…read moreyears today and what I do like about it is the the cool, relaxed atmosphere of both the shoppers and sellers. I often go to farmers markets to buy locally as much as possible. The seller's carry seasonal items and they hold the market indoors in the winter. I love when it is outdoors, you get to hear the music if a band is present. They sell home goods and meats as well! It's not just produce here! Also, when you become a regular, the sellers tend to give you freebies... But shh! Don't tell any body I said so. 4 stars for always being the go to spot.

Winter season location for the Farmers' Market has moved around over the years, currently (Dec…read more2015) occurring at the Kent Methodist Church on 59, plenty of parking in the back. Many of the faithful vendors from Haymaker are there, with the same high quality wares. Lots of cool weather / greenhouse produce, herbs, baked goods, preserves, dried items, wonderful fresh cheese, frequently even hot food being sold by our neighbors and other familiar faces. It's a bit of a drive for us... but on the way to the Super Walmart... sooo ... if we want to brave the Tallmadge Circle at rush house it's worth the hike! Love the fact that I can log on and check out who has what before making the drive!! The city has a policy of pointing all departments to the root web site... and there is NO information on the farmers market to be found there...
