    Aldi president's men
    Fox E.

This is where they filmed the movie Aldi President's Men. True story. I think? This is a nicer Aldi than the usual ones. I like it and usually find a bunch of stuff that we need here for very good prices. I guess the main problem with it - if indeed there is a problem - is that it's the whole european-style no frills shopping, cold and heartless, cheap and efficient, and very unamerican in that regard. So it's not always a very comfortable shopping experience and sometimes with wait times and having to produce a quarter for a cart and stuff - even in Corona times - is a little annoying, but it's still a good grocery store of course. And cheaper than your usual store.

Very good prices, clean, fresh produce and meat, plus unique items. This store just opened and I love it. Mind you, it is small, but the prices beat Walmart, Sprouts, and HEB. The specials are unbelievable.

FINALLY!! After months of anxiously waiting for this location to open, we were finally able to stop by. This store is brand new, so it still looks nice and organized. But most Aldi's look organized all the time, really. It's in a great location right at the corner of Shepherd and Garden Oaks Blvd with ample parking. It's in a shopping center but parking is not an issue. They have many of the similar items that I've seen at other locations. During the opening weekend, it seems that they had even more deals on various items. This location seems like its going to stay packed. We stopped in around 11am on Saturday and it was popping. We looked around a bit but it was a little too packed for us to really check everything out, so we decided to come back later that evening. When we did come back, it was around 8 that night and it was still a little busy. I noticed that there were more employees in the store so that was nice. Most Aldi's have about 3 people on the floor. When we checked out, they actually had 3 cashiers so the lines moved fast. The prices here are about the same as other locations. The meat selection, while not big, had some decent prices. Eggs were .68 with a limit of 5, so I stocked up lol Of course please remember to bring your own bags, or be prepared to pay .07 for paper, .10 for plastic or $1.99 for the more durable recycled grocery bags that they now carry. What upset me was how many people STILL left their shopping carts everywhere!! Everyone knows that you need to bring a quarter to use a cart and you get it back when you return it. However when we stopped in, there were about 14 carts just left in the lot. How lazy can you be? I've never seen this at any other locations!! Anyway, cart issue aside. I love this location. The area needed an Aldi and we were finally gifted one lol I'll definitely stop by again, maybe once the craze simmers down.

Houston Flea Market is the definition of "you get what you pay for." It's overcrowded, disorganized, and feels like a maze of the same vendors selling the same cheap imported products over and over. The aisles can be dirty, parking is chaotic, and customer service varies wildly depending on who you're dealing with. Prices aren't always the bargain you'd expect either--many sellers charge close to retail unless you're willing to haggle. The food is one of the better parts, but it isn't enough to make up for the overall experience. If you're hoping to find unique antiques or hidden treasures, you'll probably leave disappointed after digging through piles of low-quality merchandise. Unless you specifically enjoy the flea market atmosphere or know exactly what you're looking for, there are much better ways to spend your time.

We filled both buckets with mostly ripe delicious strawberries. The kids still need to refine their picking skills. We then got snow cones, brisket and sausage. The kids played and had cotton candy. This was an extremely fun 3 hour activity. I was surprised to find so many delicious ripe strawberries this late in the season. In the end we spent a little over $100. The snow cones were super delicious- actual shaved ice. There are amazing photo ops and I took beautiful pictures of my kiddos. There are several fun pockets and experiences on this farm and it's very kid friendly. As a mom, I'm always having heart attacks because kids love to do crazy stuff, but here I felt very relaxed. Next time I would have them wear mud boots (our tennis are caked with mud). The strawberry fields weren't extremely muddy, but there were pockets of mud out there. We are eating the strawberries and my toddlers are thrilled and proud because they collected them. I just need to get a jam recipe to make this day last a few months. Thank you to the staff that were so warm and friendly!

My 2 year old was free. $2 for a bucket (must use a Froberg's bucket for picking). We bought 2 to share among the 4 of us. We filled both close to the top (close to 6 lbs total). I'm not sure how much it cost per lb since I didn't pay, but i think it was $5/lb. Credit card does incur a 3.99% fee. We also bought some bbq: brisket sandwich, hotdog with turkey sausage and jalapeno sausage, Arizona green tea, bottled water, and 2 sausages to-go (jalapeno pork & deer sausage and regular sausage). It was a lot of food actually for $48. We also bought some baked goods to-go (especially enjoyed the oatmeal cookie, chocolate cookie, and pecan pie) . Cookies were $1.50 each or $12/dz. The medium pie (about 4 servings) was maybe $6-7. Being a Friday, there was not much to do at all because all the rides, games, and food trucks only run on the weekends. I guess it saved us money at least bc everything cost $3-4 (tokens). We still managed to stay 2 hours (it made our 1 hr drive worth it) because we ate the bbq at the shaded picnic tables while my 2 year old played on the playground. It's a small playground, but it had her favorite things- swings, slides, and a tire tower to climb. She had fun. I may go to Blessington for the pumpkin patch this fall (based off reviews), but fruit picking is pretty fun here.

The parking was a bit of a challenge, but it was easy enough because it was a calm Tuesday morning. To get from the parking area to the store, you just take the elevator one level down, and then you're right inside. This place is surprisingly big, filled with all kinds of snacks, cookies, and coffee. The highlight for me was their shawarma breakfast wrap. It was top-notch and exactly what I needed. You choose between whole wheat or white pita, and it's filled with scrambled eggs, your choice of fresh or sautéed spinach, and they add potatoes as well. Then they top it with shawarma chicken, tomato, and a delicious sauce. For $8.5 it was worth every bite. Hands down, a five out of five. I also tried their coffee, which was just a standard brew sitting in ice for hours and nothing special. At $2.50, it was fine, but nothing to write home about. The real stars were the cookies. I got a coconut pecan cookie and an almond crunch cookie, and both were absolutely delicious. I didn't have time to explore the whole store, but there was a great selection of fresh produce, chocolates, and all sorts of small treats. Overall, the staff were really friendly, and the entire visit was smooth. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Five out of five stars!
