I had my doubts, but this Aldi is pretty good. I was expecting it to look like a tornado hit it, unorganized with things misplaced, and items missing with the packaging tucked away in somewhere it doesn't belong but nope. For thanksgiving Aldis saved my life. They had butterball turkeys at 87c a pound, whereas other supermarkets either started at a higher price per pound or u had to spend a set amount to get a turkey for free. Aldi had the cheapest price for a butterball turkey anywhere, (that I know of) and for that I thank them. I think the most underrated items are: Their Natures Nectar orange juice, orange mango, cranberry cherry are all A1. Their Barissimo coffee. The varieties I've had so far are really good and don't leave a aftertaste. I've had the medium roast, white chocolate (seasonal) French Vanilla. Their Key Lime pie was surprisingly good. If you like soda they got Coca Cola varieties sprite Fanta, 2 liter $1.35

I like that in the past 5ish years this place has exploded in number in and around New York City, it used to be popular out in Buffalo and I ain't makin that drive. This store fits the neighborhood well, supplying a variety of brand name and generic products. They don't have a bathroom unfortunately. Found a busy-ish part of third ave.

This photo shows the Aldi I was at and the cashier I had.

This is the Aldi I usually come to. I never have any issues, people are even really nice sometimes. Today, however, it's as if staff training no longer exists prior to getting a job there. Most of the staff looked new and it's Clear that they have no idea how to work in that kind of environment. It was a little packed, so people who didn't buy alot of things were trying to bag and go as quickly as possible. While I was trying to bag my items straight from the cart that the cashier was putting them in, she was very rude about throwing my items right over my hands instead of placing them on the side that I wasn't bagging from. Then, once she finished violently throwing all of my items like a wild Savage, she pushed the cart right into me as her way to "move it out for the next guest". But 1. There was NO SPACE as the bagging bar, which is why I was bagging straight from the cart (I only had about 3 items left) and 2. I've never been to an Aldi where the cashiers violently shove shopping carts into the customers. She didn't even say anything before doing so either. No "you can move to the bagging area" or even a "have a nice day". Just a violent push. If I had been injured, she could have injured me even more with how rough she pushed the cart into me. I've been shopping at Aldi for years and and my experience is usually fine. Today, this experience was entirely unacceptable. My Cashiers name was FREEDOM and she needs to be trained if she's going to keep working there. She looked like she hates her job, but hating your job is no reason to take it out on the customer.

This Location doesn't have Kosher salt. Out of all the items they do carry, they don't stock Kosher salt

I feel comfortable shopping and spending my money here. Good customer service no problem there. More staff would be helpful.

Hunts Point Produce is the largest food distribution center of its kind in the country. Hunts Point Food Distribution Center houses the Fulton Fish Market and a produce market. Hunts Point Market is the source for approximately 50 percent of the New York region's meat. More than 50 independent wholesale food businesses located at the Market supply food to over 22 million people in the New York metropolitan area. All of that being said, this week of Thanksgiving they had their busiest day of the year. This place is phenomenal. It's a great place for teachers to take their classes on a field trip. If you want to visit I suggest you contact their main office and speak to someone. It's definitely a learning experience!

While the Produce Market generally deals in wholesale operations, regular consumers may also enter the Market. So, is the Produce Market worth a visit? Not really, though in principle, more should. The Produce Market is basically four long open-air rows of vendor "stalls" lined with loading bays and temperature-controlled storage sections that look a lot like a Costco's walk-in refrigerated produce section. You're just looking at lots and lots of everyday organic and non-organic fruits and vegetables -- mundane sights, despite the market's bustle. My take-away impression of the Produce Market was that it felt antiquated, and in need of modernization. Although most New Yorkers focus very much on the end of the food chain, all New Yorkers should become more aware of the issues and challenges faced by the Produce Market. Unless you're very wealthy, it is likely that at least some of your produce passes through this Market. Entry pricing seems somewhat convoluted, requiring $3 per person and $2 per car (more for larger vehicles). A government-issued ID is required for entry into the Produce Market. The printed entry receipt is designed to contain your name and date-of-birth. I could not see any business purpose to disclosing such information on a receipt. Interestingly, the neighboring Fulton Fish Market admits people at a straight $7 per car (more for larger vehicles), and does not have ID requirements. Park your car anywhere parking is available, taking note of parking signs -- don't block spaces that trucks need to maneuver and dock; and enter the market from pretty much anywhere you can find an entrance. Customers are generally required to purchase full trays / crates. Pricing is pretty good, but if you're an ordinary consumer, you likely won't need that much of one kind of fruit / vegetable.
