I had a terrible experience at this ALDI today. I arrived struggling with a heavy bag and an irritated toddler, only to find the trolleys locked. I didn't have a coin on me, so I asked the security guard standing right by the trolleys for help.
Instead of assisting a customer who clearly had her hands full, he told me I had to walk into the store, wait in the checkout queue, and purchase a trolley coin first. I even offered to buy whatever was necessary after I had the trolley so I could actually free my hands to shop, but he refused to budge.
It's ridiculous that "policy" or a 10-cent plastic coin is more important than basic customer service and helping a parent in need. If you're looking for a store that actually values its customers and understands the reality of shopping with kids, go elsewhere. I certainly won't be returning. read more
