I'd advise anyone who receives a 'fine' from Parking Eye, or any other Private Parking Company (PPC), to do a quick Google search for 'Parking Eye Scam' before doing anything. The fact is that no PPC can issue a 'fine' to a member of public for parking on private land. What they can do is issue an invoice to recover any losses arising from the 'offence' they claim has been committed. Parking Eye and the like operate a scam whereby they print their invoices in such a way as to deliberately mislead people into believing that they are enforceable fines. Basically they're relying on enough people to be misled into believing they have to pay up. If you choose to ignore Parking Eye they'll send a few follow up threatening letters but eventually they'll go away. In order to get any money off you they'd have to make a civil claim via a court for any losses suffered. This means a) they have to pay court fees and b) they have to prove that their client suffered a loss of £40 as a result of you staying in the car park for a few minutes longer than the imposed time limit. As far as I'm aware Parking Eye have yet to win a single case in a court of law. It's to Aldi's eternal shame that they allow these cowboy scammers to operate in their car park. Any retail business that treats its' customers with such contempt deserves to be boycotted and driven out of business and I'd advise anyone reading this to shop elsewhere until Aldi kick out the scammers and refund every single one of their customers who have lost out as a result of this con. read more

For some reason I wasn't buying any stuff here. And I'm not so sure why. It looked like a normal Aldi, cheap, crowded and a bit full of everything. There wasn't any staff, as usual, but the ques weren't that long (just 3 people per que). For some reason I just walked in to fancy myself some food, but couldn't find anything that seemed to be delicious for a dinner to cook. So I walked out again. I wasn't coming here for anything else. But to be fair: it is a great place for chocolate, fizzies and other kinds of cheap food. And it is a lot easier without any allergies to find here something to eat, although they even have soya milk. read more

Like someone else has said, I've also had a parking ticket from Aldi - although in my case, I had left to go looking at the nearby Poundland and Debenhams, so I guess it's my own fault. I like Aldi - I like their range of foods, particularly those delicious Spanish-style tapas that they only seem to have in the Bangor branch of the store, and I like the variety of breads and cakes. I even like the packaging. I especially like the Monsier Roth range of chocolate - of which bars cost around 99p but it tastes very expensive. I like their range of toiletries (although some of them, such as the bubble bath) are expensive) and I like their budget Q10 facial moisturisers. I don't like paying for carrier bags, although I guess by now I should be taking my own. read more

Response:- I think your parking service is really mean minded and totally unsympathetic towards us. We are two o.a.p.s struggling with disabilities. I had a new hip a few months ago and awaiting the second, and my husband is going into hospital on 20/03/18 to have his total hip replacement. We had not been into the center of Bangor for several years - now your company has put us off going ever again. All our family and friends are totally disgusted with your cavalier attitude and will NEVER visit and ALDI store again. The situation is quite ridiculous! All my husband did was pop in to Aldi store in Bangor to look for salmon pate! He has just has cattaract surgery on his right eye and another proceedure on his left eye so really still doesn't see very well. This all happened in 20 mins. There was no obvious sign in the parking area we were in to say there was a limit, or that you actually had to buy something in the store. If the only sign was near the checkout, he didn't get that far as the item he was looking for was not available to purchase!!! Therefore I could not send any 'evidence' as there was no receipt! So all he did was walk around the store and out again - and it cost us ~£40! I now intend to write to the local papers to warn everybody that you are totally unscrupulous in your money grabbing ethos! read more

just recieved parking charge from parking eye,Aldi customer since retirment in 2010,we shop in diffrent stores throughout North Wales.Weekly spend about £50.00.So far as I am aware no other Aldi car park requires car details in order to shop!!Have responded to parking demand from ParkingEye,giving clear evdince of customer loyalty to Aldi stores throughout North Wales. Also supplying details of supposed parking infringement by hand to my local store in Old Colwyn,Lets see how good customer relations really are!!! read more

Aldi may never win any awards for stylish presentation or show piece food stuffs, despite a recent advertising revamp, but it does provide steady and evenly priced products. You can seriously save a lot by doing your weekly shop at Aldi, and in no way does it mean a drop off in quality. The packaging won't be as nice, but does this really matter? One downside is that the car park is strictly monitored, so don't think you can park there without any intention of shopping there. Plus, I have it on authority that the park attendants have a zero tolerance and zero forgiveness policy. But anyway, go there and shop and save some money to pay off other parking fines. read more

I think Aldi in Bangor stinks, I had driven from Manchester parking there and not realising that you HAD to pay, I went into the store and bought some sandwiches (did not keep the bill) which I ate sat in my car as it was raining I then went to Nero's for a coffee. On returning home, a few days later I received a parking ticket for 70 quid reduced to 40 if I pay quickly. On holiday in North Wales we thought we'd drive several miles to Aldi in Bangor to do some shopping . One week later we have been hit by a £70 parking fine. I will NEVER shop at that store again and will advise others not to either. read more

BEWARE.... In Sept'15 at 5.15pm I bought a few items in ALDI. I asked the cashier how long I could use the car park for and she told me 1and1/2 hours. It was late in the day, other shops were shutting and the car park was about 3/4 full. To avoid queuing in rush hour traffic I went for a walk. I left the car park after having been there 1hr 11 mins. It was now about half full. About 2 weeks later I received a parking charge notice. Thinking this must be a mistake I appealed with Parkingeye and spoke on the phone with Aldi twice. All with no success at cancelling the charge. Apparently I should have registered my car number in the shop. I was also told I did not spend enough and should never have left the car park. Needless to say, I will never pay this nor will I ever shop in Aldi again. Such bullying is totally unacceptable. A recent Dispatches tv programme revealed that the staff are bullied....they have to work 15mins free at the beginning of their shift(illegal). Time pressure on staff is so great that bread, fruit, veg etc is thrown around to save time. Many out of date products were found on the shelves. Dates on poroducts are in code so that it is unclear for customers. How do you know what the shelf life is on products you buy? This is clearly not an honourable supermarket. I think it would be best if they went back to Germany! read more

yes i have returned from home from a few weeks staying with friends to only find a parking charge of £70 for shopping at Aldi. I did a regular shop at Aldi but now find all the products at the same price elsewhere with free parking, totally free parking ,no worry about staying a few minutes over the the 1 and a half hour allowed. This is a pure scam installed by Aldi and Parking Eye to fleece you so don't pay and shop some where else. I also suggest breaking down in the entrance to Aldi car parks just b4 you pass onto their land its Gr8 paybak. read more
