Being from the Twin Cities, it was great to see familiar brands like Peace Coffee. (She's a patisserie chef--so that's saying something.) The donuts were so fresh you could literally see the glaze still dripping down the sides when she was ordering. Not in a sloppy, rushed way--more like a slow-motion food commercial where the timing is perfect and everything looks a little too good to be real. Except it was real. Very real. The guy at the counter was thoughtful enough to layer wax parchment between each donut because the frosting and glaze were that fresh. That alone should earn him a promotion and a key to the city. Everyone working was friendly, helpful, and seemed like they actually wanted to be there, which, let's be honest, isn't always the case in food service. Now--beyond the baked goods (which would be worth a stop on their own)--SuperFresh is something else entirely. It's a bakery, yeah, but it's also a locally sourced grocery store and a legit garden center. The kind of place you stop at for one thing and end up leaving with dinner ingredients, a hanging basket, a donut or three, and a weird sense that you've stumbled into something special. It's not just "support local" performative--these folks have been doing it since the 1940s. They compost all their food waste with local farmers. They banned single-use plastic bags over a decade ago. Their rain gardens capture five thousand gallons of water per storm to protect local rivers. I mean... they're doing more good in one thunderstorm than some businesses do in a fiscal year. If you're from around here, you probably already know about SuperFresh. If you're not, you should make a point to fix that. This place is the real deal--fresh food, good people, and a long-standing commitment to doing things the right way. In summary: the donuts are insane, the staff actually care, and my wife came back grinning like she just found pastry Mecca. Five stars. (P.S. If you happen to run into me in line and you're not sure what to get, just say the word. I'll probably have already picked out too many and can point you toward something life-changing.) -- That guy named James

It was conveniently located a couple minutes away from where I was staying. Lots of drinks and some food to choose from. I am always up for trying different coffee places when I am on travel. Here they have "white coffee" which she said was a lighter version. I went with a large white coffee with oat milk and sugar free shots of syrup. Tried the chocolate + Vanilla the first trip, turned out to be really tasty. Not too strong of a coffee flavor which was okay with me, but it tasted like marshmellow. I was pretty pleased. The next morning I said to sub in 1 pump of sugar free rasberry, and it was really good too. Kinda like a rasberry crumble. I got that the next day too. The only issue I have here was the prices were different on all 3 visits even though I got the same sized drink (large) and same drink (white coffee mocha with oat milk). I just varied the types of syrups. First day it was around $6.80ish. 2nd visit it was about $7.50ish. But the last day it was $9.25..?!? I was like - what's going on? She said I may have charged you for a medium on previous days - - but there were still $1 differences btwn Day 1 and Day 2. And $9.29 for a large coffee mocha is too high. I live in Austin, TX - where food here is notoriously more expensive that it should be, and I have never paid $9+ for a large mocha drink. I think that's like NYC or Los Angeles pricing. I wasn't too happy about that so I opted not to go back on my last few days. I did not want to pay $9+ for a large coffee drink. But overall the experience was worthy of 4-stars here (well, 3.5 and I'll round up to 4). The service here was very nice on all my visits, very friendly too. The coffee tasted good and they were flexible to switch out the syrups, plus they had 4 sugar free options there. But we gotta get the pricing thing down, it shouldn't be different on all 3 visits and a large shouldn't be $9.29ish.
