My last one being the Farm dinner with Jason Louda in Sept 2018. This was a 1 star experience for me. Gotta say that it was an expensive and dissatisfying meal. I'm more than happy to donate to the farm and La Soupe, but I was hoping for a quality meal too. The food had very little protein and not much flavor. I was also surprised to hear that I was eating some of the recycled food from La Soupe (cool charity, but for a $250 meal - NO!). I'm not sure if I'm going to sign up for another Farm Dinner again. Dark Wood Farm is located in Boone County, KY at Crouch's Treasure Lake nearby the Ohio River and Lawrenceburg, IN. Drive up the drive and you will see the lake to the right and the farm is to the left just behind the porch and parking. The farm grows fresh vegetables tons of greens, eggplant, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, root vegetables (potatoes, beets, onions and carrots) depending on the season. Annie who runs the farm runs a small efficient operation providing fresh produce to families in the area and to local restaurants in the greater Cincinnati area. I enjoyed walking the farm exploring, checking out all of the vegetables being grown, what a wonderful event enjoying fresh grown food right from the farm to our table. Stop by and check out Dark Wood Farm while you're exploring the Boone County area definitely worth the trip.
