Truly disappointing. Started with fried squid, which was good. Large pieces of squid, not rings,…read morewith a nice sauce and not chewy. The ribs were disappointing but not awful, more of a steamed flavor than good grilled ribs. What ruined the meal was the "side salad." Rather than a salad, which is not rocket science, this was warm and soggy primarily cabbage (maybe sat under a heat lamp). It had virtually nothing in common with a salad and was inedible. I asked the waitress if it was the wrong thing, she agreed it did not look like a salad and took it back to the kitchen. She returned to say it was indeed the side salad (she didn't return the salad but I didn't want it anyway). To add insult to injury, they did not take it off the bill (I didn't want to fight, but really). I would try another option next time at the airport.

The nice thing about Giraffe is that they actually do seem to care about healthy options and offering something a little bit different from all of the chains that usually serve quick and fried/micro'd food. On this occasion I had tasty french toast with a side of bacon for breakfast - with some nice fruit and a flat white for good measure. All for about £11 which I think is pretty good for airport fodder. Definitely the best option I saw at Manchester Airport Terminal 1 - for breakfast, lunch or dinner, it'll sort you out!

They have a good selection of cocktails although they are a little pricey! The food here is alright. not amazing, but ok. It is attempting to be more of a fine dining experience, experimenting with new flavours and ideas, however, what you get tends to always be a little.. Strange. Some of the flavours you get together just don't quite work.. But they do cook a very good fillet steak. Ask for it blue and barely cooked it will be. I would go back to socialise with friends or family locally if we fancied something a little different and only wanted to go local as it has a nice atmosphere and great selection of drinks, just don't expect to be bowled over by the food.

The decor inside is pleasing to the eye and dark woods have been set against exposed brickwork, and although this is not a large restaurant, each space for the bar and dining area have been set out well, I would liken this place to a lounge diner what with its circular booth seating opposite the modern bar. The menu is a celebration of all things meat with the 28-day-aged beef sourced from some of Cheshire's best farms. The meat is served on wooden platters with chips arriving in buckets!! Other menu options I noticed were rotisserie chicken, fresh fish, big salads, homemade burgers (including tuna teriyaki) and crayfish cocktails. The food is accompanied by a range of mainly American wines, beers plus milkshakes and sodas.

Fell short in every possible way…read more I ordered a pasta dish with garlic cream and shrimp and it came out in the smallest portion in one of those dishes with a wide extending brim and a small shallow bowl in the middle. The pasta was way overcooked with a soft mushy texture, the sauce was just your average garlic alfredo sauce, and there were about 4 pieces of shrimp a a few leafs of lettuce to top off the dish. It was something I could whip up with a few dollars worth of ingredients. When the bill came, we put in €20 on a £13 check. However, the servers quickly came back and said the conversion comes out to €22. Now I don't know if this was an airport thing but that conversion just didn't make sense to me. I asked the server to explain to me how the conversion is calculated on multiple occasions, even adding that I was not satisfied with my meal and didn't think it was worth €22 but she kept saying "I don't know, that's just what the computer says". Now, this was a hand written number that was given back to us on our original receipt but I didn't care to sit there and keep explaining how that high of a conversion seemed excessive to me especially toward a charge for a less than satisfying meal as I had a plane to catch so I just paid the huge amount of money and left Definitely do not recommend. Many other places to eat as this restaurant is situated in a food court.

I had the "Ultimate Burger", and it was a decent offering. Of course, the burger meat was a convenience product, but juicy enough, and the fries that came with it were crispy and well-cooked. The bun, too, was a notch above the usual soft-sponge quality. I have to commend the fast service: The burger arrived within less than ten minutes after I'd ordered it from the bar - and the pub was packed at the time. A few real ales are on offer, along with the usual range of national and international lagers. Although this is an "open-area" pub, it was not too loud and actually quite nice to sit there. As airport joints go, a cut above the norm.

I ordered egg and beans, as I wanted to get a breakfast, with my flight being at about 6:30am, it was priced at a reasonable price, especially for an airport costing £6. I also grabbed an Apple juice, which was pretty standard. The staff seemed okay and has basic knowledge of gluten and told me it will be okay, as egg and beans should be. My food took quite a while to come, which was frustrating, with me being in a rush to get to my gate, eventually I had to get my food packaged to go, I shouldn't have to do this, especially for something as simple as 2 fried egg with beans. They did fill my request and it was served in a box. My food was quite nice, but it is hard to mess up eggs and beans (Tesco Cafe can do it though!) The beans tasted good quality and I did like the eggs too. They could do with more seating here, as people use this as a cut through and it can feel quite hard to get a seat, even at 6am in the morning and before that, so with it not having a store and just being in empty space in the airport, that can be a problem but overall this is a nice place and something to be cheerful for, when having to travel in the dreaded terminal.
