So I have to knock off one star for that. The other star that I want to give was for the food, it was great, in a manner. This place touts itself as Tex-Mex, when it really shouldn't. Had they called it Tex-Mex inspired cuisine, this place would be 4 stars. Had the margarita not tasted like everclear, tequila, and 2 drops of lemon juice this place would get 4 stars. Had the chips and salsa ever showed up, the salsa had any flavor besides garlic, had the tacos I ordered not been a burrito, hell, had someone in the place spoken Spanish I'd give it 4 stars. Sadly, I have to cut out the second star. All this being said, I really want to go back and try the burgers. They looked and smelled delicious. The tequila selection was one of the better ones I've seen in Italy. The atmosphere was nice, the people were friendly when they talked to us. But it wasn't a Tex-Mex restaurant. I am aware this place is located in Italy, I'm aware that is nowhere near Mexico or even the great state of Texas. But if you call it Tex-Mex MAKE TEX-MEX. Again if your looking for a burger with a semi Mexican flair in Milan this seemed like the place, sadly none in my group tried one. Maybe next time.

There were just 2-3 other tables occupied apart from us. There is a table aside with complimentary chips and a few different salsas for the time waiting for orders. Waiting was not too long, though. Fast came a finely-pureed guacamole. Followed by beef fajitas with a range of 5-6 toppings and quesadillas (mysteriously labeled in the menu as Burrito Santa Fe). Baseline meat and produce quality is very good and it reflects in the final dish. The specifics of flavors are a bit off from TexMex cuisine in the USA or Mexican cuisine in Mexico proper, but this is one of the better Mexican places I encountered in Europe so far. The most important aspect of the place, though, the one bringing up the stars, is the cocktail menu taking several pages. The place used to be previously a cocktail-only bar before adding a full kitchen. A range of cocktails use house-infused vodkas and syrups line up in labeled colorful bottles along the bar, think the flavors of oregano or black tea or Sichuan pepper. After talking to the bartender-owner about them for a bit, we got even a few complementary shots of the latter infused vodka. The infusions, mixed up with more classic alcohols, make for a complex multi-layered flavors, with distinguishable first and second and third waves. For a special cocktail serving experience, ask for a Porno Tommy.

With Mexican chefs that understand the heart of Mexican fare, this restaurant strays from the more common Tex-Mex stereotypes experienced elsewhere. When I first arrived for my dinner, I was taken by the beautiful central chandelier and how well the restaurant design incorporated the Mexican aesthetic. I was welcomed by an extremely friendly waiter, who was more than happy to explain the menu and recommend dishes. I opted to try pork tacos with grilled pineapple, and fresh octopus with avocado, cucumber and radish in salsa macha. Talk about wowing me from the start! Grilling the pineapple brought out an extra layer of sweetness that tenderized the pork even more, for melt-in-your-mouth juiciness. The creamy avocado with fresh cucumber and spicy radish paired great with the octopus, and I couldn't wait for my next course! Upon recommendation from the waiter, I tried the tender lamb, which was slow cooked for 5 hours and wrapped in banana leaves. Perfectly seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices! I'm happy I listened! I can never pass up churros with chocolate sauce, as they piqued the interest of my sweet tooth. To finish the meal, I enjoyed a biscuit covered in sweet potato puree, cream cheese with cinnamon, ice cream and caramelized peanuts. Never before has my palate been so delighted by as combination of flavors. I love Mexican food, and was delighted to find this charm! To dine here is a true gastronomical experience, partaking in a fusion of tradition cultural cuisine with modern day flair. I'd highly recommend a dinner here during a night out, as the service, food, and atmosphere can't be beat.

The menu is a mish-mosh of some classic Latin ingredients like ground chorizo or avocado with some imposters like hard taco shells or ham & cheese empanadas or nachos. Taking this into account, they do offer a variety of fairly-priced small bites & were open all day during a bank holiday (hard to find in Milan). Also, the place is like a food truck with a roof, so there's not a lot of space to get comfy; 4 stools at a counter against the wall. The food was not bad. The empanadas were flavorful & the tacos were good. The carnitas is cooked in a sweet n savory sauce which threw us off but it was good enough to finish. We originally went in for the advertised jalapeños rellenos but they were out. We think we were overcharged; we weren't sure because the menu doesn't clearly state the prices for the tacos. It just says "starting at 2€". I would have given them an extra star because the food wasn't terrible & prices were good BUT more importantly, the gentleman who we paid at the register, who handled our cash, who texted on his phone for a while, was the same person who also prepared/cooked/served our food without washing his hands or wearing gloves. He handled the raw ingredients then handled the taco shells, etc. Everything happened so fast that I didn't say anything. Food safety doesn't seem to be a gigantic priority in a lot of restaurants around the city but I don't want to be reminded when I'm standing right in front of you watching what you're doing & I see you have all the time in the world to take 15 seconds to wash your hands. If I should return, I'll be ready to remind him I don't want Ecoli today.

Oh so good! but if only this place wasn't so bloody expensive!…read more Even if you are not yet tired of Italian food, you should still go here. Tacos were absolutely awesome! They were loaded with ingredients, almost too much. Even if you follow the taco eating instructions on the menu, you will still inevitably end up eating a third to half the filling with a fork and knife. But, perhaps this is a good thing. Tacos, just like all food required a rather delicate balance of ingredients. Too little filling, and you now have too much tortilla. Also, it made the price seem better if you got a loaded taco as opposed to one with barely anything inside. Ingredients were all of high quality, sliced and added almost in front of you (well, in an open kitchen with a wood stove) Guac was awesome too! Service was nice, and adjusted the music a bit quieter upon request (always a plus) Tacos took a bit to come out, but I could see the artist of a chef making them, so no blame there. Lots of hot sauces at the table, but I wish they were labeled just a little bit better.
