My son is named Wyatt and I wanted to find some whisky with the same name as him. Can not recommend these people and their product enough. Thank you again

Oh hello, Legend, you saucy minx!…read more We first visited Legend this summer when it had a nice hum of tourists doing tastings, and stacks of fun, cute merchandise to play with. The boozes were crazy delicious and the view is truly spectacular! We returned this past weekend and discovered a beautiful transformation! Apparently, for the winter months they've opened as a lounge! Now serving cocktails and amazing looking snacks (including fresh made salsa!) it retains its gorgeous charm, while adding an extra cosy element. We did a tasting flight again, served in beautifully elegant glasses, and damn they are awesome! The vodka is creamy and smooth, the gin is herbalicious, and don't even get me started on their smoked rosemary gin. SMOKED. ROSEMARY! FOR REAL! Boyfriend and I both bought a bottle because REASONS. It is so crazy amazing!! And apparently really awesome mixed with a strong ginger beer, which I can't wait to try. Go. Now. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 (although make sure you bring a bunch of money for booze!) just GO and enjoy!!

They have a variety of Okanagan fruit flavoured liqueurs, as well as some stronger spirits. You can do tastings of all of them, just like at a winery. Jorg, the distiller, obviously takes pride in his work... and his pets. He was excited to show and tell us (upon request) all about his chickens, his quails, and his parrots. Very cool and random afternoon.

You'd have probably missed it if I hadn't told you, that distillery just there--what? Yes, I said distillery. I know you came here for wine, and there are dozens of opportunities for those, but there are few distilleries. And don't they have worth to? Some of them blur the lines--what's a port than just a wine spiked with hard spirits. Maple Leaf Spirits shares iconography with Lang Vineyards; that's a winery but both deal with fermented maple syrup. The line blurs further; Maple Leaf does utilize grapes, but creatively turns them into grappa--how wonderfully original. And originality is a precious asset in a region saturated by dozens and dozens of buildings all pandering minor variations of essentially the same yeast-based fermented fruit drink. The Maple Leaf Spirits location itself is nothing special, at least the day we arrived, which was a few months back. They might have been renovating, but the time we arrived, it looked like half the place had been torn down. So, I cannot speak of the décor because it might have been in transition. It was a minuscule tasting bar in a small building fringed by dirt paths and absolutely no pageantry. But they do sell over a dozen different types of hard alcohol. I even purchased one, part of a scant few non-wine related bottles on our recent trip. The girlfriend and I had been touring Okanagan wine country, visiting 60 wineries in a week. We brought back 120 bottles. One was not a wine, but rather a Maple Liqueur from Maple Leaf. We wanted to purchase more, like the grappa above or maybe even one of the fruit brandies, but we ended up just getting the one...they are not cheap. These are bottled like, and carry a matching price of, icewines. In fact, when you compare them to the original--sorry that's Original--Canadian Maple Wine by Lange Vineyards, the Maple Leaf competitor is six dollars more. But we don't regret it, and I feel locations like Maple Leaf are vital in wine-dominated regions like the Naramata Bench. Our host at the time was friendly, and I really wish we had picked up another bottle, but what can I say, we were on a budget...kinda. You can find Maple Leaf just up the hill across from Red Rooster and Ruby Blues. I walked between the locations because they are all literally that close. Don't miss it...I know that adorable Volkswagen microbus is begging for a photo, and you should snap it. Just stop. Park. Take a trek, and taste what's up that hill.

We received 4 or 5 tastings. We didn't purchase any bottles. The staff was friendly and they have a great view off the back patio. Some things to know about Kelowna wine tasting in general. All tastings throughout Kelowna are very small and once you do find a wine you actually like, they don't allow revisiting. Also, don't expect to receive tastings of anything other than what is strictly on the menu. Even if you are interested in a particular bottle and would like to try it, you most likely won't get to taste it. Another thing to note, don't expect wine tasting to be an "experience." Everywhere flys through the tastings. The experience showed me how grateful I am living in California and just a couple hours from Paso Robles.

Unfortunately, I must leave a low rating because wheelchair accessibility was very poor…read more The guide was exceptional and so apologetic. But, this was a teaching moment for her as this was her first time locking in and securing a wheelchair properly on the shuttle. For some of the trips between wineries, I had to hang-on to my seatbelt that was attached to the floor in order to avoid tipping over in my chair. The first trip, I had to have my partner ( who has a very bad back) bend over and hang on-to the rigid frame chair to prevent me from falling forward or backwards. The bus ride was very, very, hot due to the air conditioning vent being at the back of the bus avoiding the designated wheelchair spot altogether. Overheating with a spinal cord injury can require emergency medical assistance because people cannot regulate their temperature. All of these issues should must be rectified as soon as possible especially as you are advertising as a wheelchair accessible shuttle service. Drivers should, at the very least, have practical experience, and extensive training for assisting people with disabilities in a wheelchair...and for this reason only, my review is a 2 out of 5 stars. This is unfortunate because everything else about the tour was exceptional, and all of the wineries had accessible ramps and washrooms. The Okanagan Wine region definitely does not disappoint! I just wish I could have relaxed on the excursion and felt comfortable and safe. Regretfully, Derek Moxam
