Alcatraz was a fun escape room experience! My family and I have only done one escape room prior and this exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and our escape room was challenging (in a fun way), with a level of decoration/room design that blew us away given we were in a trailer. They also offer VR escape room experiences, however we did not try them this visit. All and all we will definitely be coming back to try out the other rooms and if you're looking for an opportunity for family bonding or want a fun date night this experience is something I would recommend without hesitation!

Tried a virtual reality room... Manor of Escape, and we all had a blast! We were fitted by Cherry, our excellent guide, in our head and hand gear and then had 45 minutes to try to complete our task. It was so cool seeing what we could do with our hand controls and we were taken into different settings upon completing each goal. It was challenging but we made it out with several minutes to spare. Each scene seemed as though we were in a huge world but in reality we were in a tiny room. Excited to try the other games... One word of advice... some of us felt a tad nauseous afterwards. Nothing terrible but maybe take a Dramamine if you're prone to motion sickness.

I love escape rooms and do them in every single city I visit, to include cities in Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, California, New York, Utah, and more. What makes this place unique: - Only escape room I have done that is on an actual bus. Super cool! - Live actors Areas of Improvement: - If you don't succeed, most escape rooms show you the rest of the game. They said they couldn't do that. I understand it motivates people to return and finish the game; however, we were only visiting so we will never know. I also wouldn't return to do an escape room I was a few minutes from completing. - We were lucky enough to be the only two for our escape room. I would suggest only allowing a single party per escape room, especially following COVID.

My husband and I went here and did the zombie escape room - great experience! the girl hosting us (wish I had her name) made the whole thing fun from start to finish. Her zombie friend was great as well! My husband and I finally settled the debate of who would do better in a zombie apocalypse... me, duh. Clues were doable but challenging! We didn't finish within the hour, and asked for far more clues than the leaderboard "3" but we did finish and it was an experience we will remember!

The only great thing about the place was the lobby and the customer service from the game master. The lobby is well maintained and it made me excited for the room. However, the room had multiple issues. The largest issue was that the AC did not work at all. This ruined the experience because we had to have the main entry door open the entire time so that way some fresh air would come in. Even with this solution, one of us were completely disengaged due to the heat, and everyone else was highly uncomfortable. Not having AC in the summer when it is 106 degrees outside is just no acceptable. Beyond the AC issues, the escape room itself was middle of the road at best. There was no flow and the puzzles were incoherent. One of the locks was left unlocked so we did not solve one of the puzzles. The room was overall cheaply made. For example, they use wall paper on a standard door to make it look like a submarine door, whereas other escape room company's would design a door that looks and feels like a submarine door. There were also 2 other cheap locks on one cabinet that one person easily guessed the combination to. Overall, I would not bring my team back to this escape room company.

We selected Christmas-inspired games to enhance the festive atmosphere, which added an extra level of fun and engagement for our guests. The event hosts were professional, enthusiastic, and a pleasure to work with throughout the experience. The party package included unlimited drinks during gameplay, which was appreciated, and the option to add catering was a convenient feature--which I did end up adding. The only area for improvement that I would recommend is greater attention to detail regarding their add-ons. I had added a mini trophy and ribbon as part of our party package; however, these items were not provided until after the event had concluded and many guests had already departed. This was disappointing, as the add-on was intended to be part of the celebration itself. Overall, though, the event was a success, and we'll definitely be back for more:)

Pleasant Grove. Many of their rooms are designed for two people in mind, and the themes all looked so good, it was hard for us to decide on which game we wanted our first to be. Eventually, we settled for The Sweet Escape, and it proved to be a great choice. The Escape Date is located within different clusters of shopping malls - it is itself set up like many of the escape rooms in Orange County - not really good for showroom shopping, but easy parking, easy to find (go down the stairs!), and great for letting your imagination run wild when designing a quest! There is no café right next door, but plenty of nourishment establishments are located a short drive away. We stopped off at Beans and Brews right before our game, so we were properly caffeinated and ready when we met up with Elizabeth, our game host, in the small but nicely-decorated parlour. Elizabeth could have walked right off the set of The Good Shop Lollipop or Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. As it turned out, we were not trying to escape from anything. In fact, we were competing for a chance of a lifetime: to take over sweet magnate Louis VonSweet candy empire! Happily, we did not have to sit through an entire pre-filmed game rules video, and after a short introduction delivered by VonSweet himself, we were left to get started on our task. The video also served as a timer during our game, but clues were slipped to us under the door. Like other what we have come to call "First Generation" games, this fun hour had us solving riddles and linear puzzles, adding up numbers and being not just hands-on, but nose, eyes, ears and tastebuds on as well. The conventional locks and magnets all worked, and we did not think twice about it being a single room because we were fully engaged the entire time we were there. We loved how strictly they kept to the theme, and, even though I was a little reluctant to try one of the puzzles, that puzzle turned out to be my favourite challenge in the game. The maze, challenging our hand-eye coordination, was another memorable obstacle to our inheritance ... The Sweet Escape is the perfect date adventure, with a most delicious (ha!) price-point. It is also a full 60-minute game, and because we had just completed a 20-minute game, we outpaced ourselves and managed to become candy millionaires in 43:44! We loved the very flattering victory photos Matthew (also dressed in deference to theme) took of us on our phone, and when we used the restroom after our game, we found ourselves kept busy there, too! The Escape Date was a marvellous find, and we're thrilled to find even more games available that are built for a 2-person team. We can't wait to check them out again - it won't be long!

Now owned by Escape Utah, I was hoping to have a good time with the family....this is by far the worst escape room I've ever experienced! We did "the Hexed" room. The bad: it's one room. The host is terrible. They are more concerned about you stealing escape room ideas(forced to lock phones), than a great user experience (terrible hints). Everything is locks based. No real puzzles. No real mechanisms. Everything is cheaply made. Lots of random props with no purpose. No real storyline or true purpose of the room. The good: none (this place is so run down, the floor creeks from above). I'm so frustrated, I'll never wast my money at any of this company's escape room again. I'm especially upset at the host. If you get stuck, you will hope that at some point, they just tell you exactly what to do, instead we were stuck for 60minutes on a stupid suitcase that had the dumbest coding ever. Even after failing the dang room, he refused to tell us how to escape the room. He just open the door for us to leave. WTF! Save your money. Go somewhere where they care about you having a great time and want you to come back.

In theory, this place has fun themed rooms with many puzzles that are tricky to solve, but leave…read moreyou feeling clever when you solve them. Unfortunately, our group left after a frustrating experience since our room was quite literally impossible to escape from. Let me explain: Our group of five booked the Fahrenheit 451 online in advance. We checked in, placed our belongings in lockers, and went into a room that was cleverly designed to hide clues. We started solving puzzles, got a hint from the Enigma Escape worker, and were eventually able to open the door into the second room of the Fahrenheit 451 experience. From here, the experience went downhill. Without giving too much away for those who want to try this room for themselves, of the puzzles in this second room requires you to find seven gears before you can proceed in your escape efforts. During our search for the gears, our team asked for a hint, and the screen used to provide hints froze, meaning we couldn't receive hints/communication from the staff (to their credit, they handwrote a clue on a note for us and slipped it under the door while rebooting the system, which later worked). With five minutes of time left on our clock, we had six of the seven gears, but there was a letter-based combination lock on a box we were confident contained the last gear needed for our puzzle. We asked for a clue, and were told to use the information from a couple of specific items we'd collected. We'd already tried all of the letter combinations from those already, but we tried again based on the clue--still no luck. As time expires, the worker comes in to tell us we were out of time. Feeling like we'd spent forever on this gear puzzle, we asked if we could have just a couple more minutes to solve it. She told us no, because she'd felt bad about the screen freezing earlier and had already given us an extra five minutes to compensate for that (which was nice of her). So we asked if we could at least have the code of the lock we'd struggled for so long to open. She asked if we'd tried the combinations from the items we'd collected, and we told her that we had. She said, "all four of them?" We'd only collected three, but we showed her where we found them (turns out one of them was found from a place it shouldn't have been hidden), and she showed us where the fourth should have been hidden, but wasn't (our group had checked there). It turns out this missing fourth item contained the letter combination needed to open the lock. Since it wasn't where it was supposed to be hidden, the employee gave us the combination, and when we unlocked the box, it had the fourth item (containing the combination code) inside of it -- in other words, they very key needed to unlock a box was locked in that box you needed the key to unlock, making it an impossible challenge to solve. The employee told us that our hunch was correct and that the last gear should have been in the box, rather than the fourth item that gave the code. It turns out that the employee who reset the room not only hid the code in the wrong spot, but also failed to hide the last gear to the puzzle, and merely left it in place from where the last group had placed it to solve the final puzzle to escape (the puzzle you weren't supposed to unlock before you had collected all seven gears). So, we learned that our group isn't dumb, we were just given a room that was impossible to solve because it wasn't properly reset by employees. To her credit, the employee who helped us was apologetic and kind the whole time, and offered us a coupon code for our next visit (though we felt as though this coupon is a bounce-back coupon that everyone receives). But we left frustrated and with a sour taste in our mouths from the experience.
