It's a small town so prices are pretty high here, I only get specific items here like dog food and alcohol. Last time I was here though, I had an absolutely horrible experience that made me never want to go back. I don't remember what the cashier's name was but he was youngish (not as young as most of the baggers) skinny, had a beard and possibly blue eyes. I assume he's new because I have never been treated with so much disrespect from the cashier's here and hadn't seen him before. I came into the check out line with my friend who had a SEPARATE order (I had alcohol in my order) was preparing to take out my credit card and ID when the guy tells me he will needs both me AND my friend's ID in order to sell to me. Which is absolutely ridiculous and I have never been asked this before by cashier's here. My friend's product was just a burrito from the deli so she obviously didn't bring her ID for that. I confirmed that it didn't matter to him that all the items were for me and that I would be paying for them separately from her. Had to drive her back to her house to get her ID, came back and they had thrown away her burrito (after being gone for maybe 10 minutes max) even though they had promised to set it aside till we got back. This man tried to tell me it was so called long standing policy which is complete bs, if I had known his name I would have called and just straight up reported him to management. Put a giant bummer on my night for absolutely no reason, plus it's stupid how you gonna ask me to provide an ID for the person behind me in line? Yea we were talking but she literally could've been a complete stranger, so this guy wouldn't have sold me my products just cause I was talking to someone behind me??? Like what if she was actually a stranger, he's gonna expect me to ask her to get her ID just so I a complete stranger can buy my groceries? Make it make sense and train your workers better, even the baggers (who bring me my pick up orders regularly) knew this guy was in the wrong. And going so far as to throwing out my friend's burrito after not being gone for long at all (she literally lives three blocks from the store) then trying to offer to make another in 15 minutes while the store is closing? It shows me this guy didn't expect me to come back and was simply just trying to get rid of me and my friend, like I thought you guys wanted to sell this stuff? Seriously guys you can do better. Two stars are only for the products, and the one bagger who has always been kind and respectful when I pick up my orders, do better with your staff. I won't be coming back unless it's for a pick up order when every other place in town is out of what I want. Horrible read more

No. Nooooooo. Albertsons. What's going on with you? Unfriendly employees & just an overall poor experience. I went into Albertsons for the first time because I don't live in the area. After getting what I needed to get, I got in line with 4 other people. We waiting for about 7 minutes until the lady in the front decided to see if any lane was open. There was a lady just waiting for someone to come into her line. Since the lines are much different due to the layout they made for Covid, you can't really tell who is open & ready. Staff walked around us & didn't say "Let me see if there is a lane open!" They just looked at us. This is not how you do things. Management, where are you? Operation managers...can you get involved? I always loved going to Albertsons & wanted to work there as a teen. As an adult and have heard of management changing, I see things getting worse. read more

I am writing this review for the fact that they have a Starbucks in the store. We were in Taft and wanted a coffee and luckily this place has a Starbucks inside. I ordered a Venti iced caramel macchiato and a Venti iced mocha both with whole milk and they both tasted great. Shot were not burnt and that's a plus. read more

Albertsons maybe the best major grocery store in town, but only because it's the ONLY major grocery store in town. If another opened up, Albertsons would most likely lose most of it's business. Do, what's wrong with it? Prices are incredibly high! Higher than other major stores(You can tell this by looking at sales fliers). It's not affordable at all! Sure, they have a few fairly priced items, but in the end it's much too expensive. I also find myself getting overcharged a LOT! Each time I go shopping I end up getting overcharged! It happens so regularly now that when I go out to the car, I go over the receipt and find the overcharges before I leave to save me a return trip! It's always there! On top of overcharging, they have a habit of not putting out sale items. I have on several occasions gone into the store to pick up an item that was on sale, only to find that item not out for sale. In fact, that item doesn't even have a home on the shelf. What they do have is a similar sized item out for sale, and someone not paying attention would understandably assume that's the sale item! Or they will print coupons for an item of "Selected varieties" and the selected varieties will be 1 type, even though there are multiple types shown in the picture...It's just outright sketchy! Also, there doesn't seem to be enough checkers! Lines are usually long and often times when they call for a new checker it takes several minutes for one finally to arrive. In fact, last time I went shopping the line I was in went ALL the way down the candy aisle! Granted, it was on the first, and the first is prob their busiest day(Which is why I avoid shopping on the first! Best time for me to go shopping is the last day of the month..that seems to be their least busiest day) The staff however is fantastic! With the exception of the store manager. While I personally have never dealt with him, I have seen him being rude customers and being rude to his employees. It's for this reason that I have personally avoided any contact with him. I have so far been lucky enough to not even have to speak to him. The meat dept. Is fantastic, the main butcher is wonderful and will bend over backwards to make you happy, and provides fresh quality meat! I have never had a problem with meat purchased from them, and won't shop anywhere else for my meat! The bakery/Deli is decent. Their baked goods tend to be high, but their deli items are fair price. I frequently purchase my cheese from there, as well as macaroni salad and fried chicken. Unfortunately, their chicken often times is too salty, or too dry/overcooked. You have to make sure it's fresh before buying, and best way to do that is determining the color of the crispies. If it's golden, it's fresh! As it gets dryer the crispies get darker. Starbucks is wonderful! I love the people who work there, they are friendly and chatty and informative if you have any questions. Yea, the coffee is expensive, but it's so delicious! Well, worth the cost and it's nice to stop by in the summer and pick up a frappuccino on my way out of the store so that I have something cooling to drink as I sit in the hot car, pouring over the receipts for overcharges. read more

This unassuming dated exterior belies it friendly staff, well organized stocks and more modern interior is a welcome food shopping experience. Beyond just the surprise after entering the store, they have most anything you would expect in large and small specialty stores. We were tent camping in Carizzo Plains and they resupplied us with fresh food that was a welcome change from freeze dried foods. And some fire wood to round out a great dinner in the wonderful monument. read more

Only major grocery store in town. Its the best we got so far =). There is also a Starbucks inside, meat counter, deli counter and a bakery department. Most things may be overpriced but it beats the forty minute drive to Bakersfield. read more

One of the two grocery stores located in Taft. Inside the Albertson's, there is a Starbucks branch and a Bank of America branch. I've bought something once in awhile, but usually I just go to the B of A. I must say though that the store seems to be well stocked, clean, and organized. Also, the clerks seem to know everyone. Of course, it is a small town so that is not much of a surprise either. Anyways, if you are passing by Taft and need something from the grocery store then this is one of your choices to patronize! read more

The Albertsons app should always be able to save us money on all the items in the store not just some items and this drives me crazy on how you run your store and how some items have barcodes but the other ones don't always have any on there ugh read more

The only reason it's getting two stars is because of the Starbucks. The employees are most generally kind & do a good job making drinks. The store itself is always way overpriced! It's worth it to drive to Bakersfield to get groceries rather than come to this Albertsons. They don't care for the quality of their product either. My boyfriend just spent $60 on chocolate covered strawberries for his mom and over half of them were covered in mold! He was not allowed to return them. The head manager is not very good to his employees, and needs to focus on his customer service skills. Also, the floral department struggles a little bit, in that I paid about $100 on flowers that got droopy almost immediately after I unwrapped them. read more

I love Albertsons in Taft, Ca. because the people are so friendly except for a few new ones. and the Floral department has come a long way. Flowers are fresh and area clean. Robyn will make a special arrangement for any one. Johnney in the meat dept. is great and will do any cut of meat you asked for. I pick my checkers when I go into the store. There is alot of good ones. Managers are great and the store is well stocked. I have been to alot of stores in Bakersfield and they don't hold a candle to Taft. read more

Had the pleasure of working beside the kinds folks in Albertsons Taft Ca! I must say they truly got blessed with the employees! They have such a connection with their employees it's an amazing sight to see! I personally worked beside the Floral and Produce Manager and they definitely have a light to shine to their surroundings! Starbucks was very good too, so happy they had one there!! read more

Fruit bowls suck here, normally Albertson's, in general, have good fruit bowls that they set up. This Albertson's seems to be one that doesn't seem to care about their customers spending the amount of money on these to ensure that they are good. End up buying about $40 of fruit bowls only to find myself eating nasty fruit. I end up hoping that I got a bad bowl and in today the very next day I buy this shit. I'm throwing out 3, one with mold on it and two following right behind. The last one I buy is pineapple, that looks fine, but you taste it and it's the nastiest shit I have ever had. All that shit went in the trash, don't waste your time on their fruit bowls, it's just sickening. read more

I shop at this Albertson's regularly. They are the only major grocery chain in Taft. The management seems to be very mediocre. Their service needs to be addressed at this store. First, the meat department never has a butcher available around 7 pm. Apparently, they take a break at this hour. I saw several frustrated customers ring the buzzer with nobody showing up. There was an employee standing by the freezers observing and carrying a conversation with a woman. It really didn't seem to bother him. I witness health violations in the deli. They seem more concerned about their work behind the counter more than assisting the customer. On several occasions, I witnessed a worker unloading boxes from a dolly then serve food without washing their hands or wearing gloves. They never clean the meat slicer. I hate going to this counter because it always feels like I am an inconvenience. The workers in general seem more concerned with socializing with each other than customer service. I see workers walking around the store talking on their cell phones. The cashiers talk with the baggers or each other. If they know the customer, the conversation carries way to long. I don't understand why these things happen here. They charge about 1/3 more for products than they do in Bakersfield. I am sure they are making enough revenue to hire better help. I have decided to do most of my shopping in Bakersfield. I really wish I could support locally, but tonight was the last draw. read more

My cousin ordered her wedding centerpieces with them, they were the ugliest centerpieces I've ever seen. They had wilted flowers and looked like they were not finished. I do not recommend this place for any kind of floral needs. They ruined what should of been the happiest day of her life. read more

Their prices are so high we drive 30 minutes to bakersfield to do our grocery shopping.

I am amazed, the Manager at the store in Taft, he is absolutely wonderful! I told him I wanted to buy a xmas dinner for a family that I knew needed one that lived up there. He couldn't take my credit card but said he would donate a dinner to the family!! What a wonderful store manager and such a generous offer!! This is what Christmas spirit is all about.
