I normally don't write bad reviews like this, but I keep seeing the same trembling behavior from a woman who appears to be the store's bookkeeper. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed her approach employees with a very stern, rude demeanor. She will bark orders at the employees instead of speaking to them like a fellow human. There was zero politeness or respect in how she talks. The worst was when she demanded one of the employees to clean up feces in the bathroom and did so in a very demeaning way. The employee looked visibly uncomfortable, and honestly, it was just embarrassing to have to witness. This kind of public treatment of its employees reflects poorly on the store. It definitely affects how I feel going into the store. Those employees have always been nothing but kind and deserve better treatment. read more

I find myself here more often than in the past...and typically when they have sales, the sale prices are pretty good. Five dollar Friday is a nice way to start the weekend. They usually have something delicious as part of the deal....and my kids think I'm the best mom ever when I bring home cookies. LOL! I like scanning the flyer when it arrives in the mail. That way, everything is already loaded into my account and connected to my phone number. Staff has been friendly. 5 stars! read more

Won't be going back. Have been a regular here but after tonight, enough is enough. I recently had a hip replacement and have to be careful with too heavy bags. I brought in 12 of my own bags. The bagger started putting EVERYTHING in ONE BAG. The cashier was pissed when I asked to do it differently. She said, "you want to do it yourself ?" Nope but maybe this young guy needs to be trained better. Still pissed with me I was getting frustrated. I said..."maybe you should try and lift it" I spend about $200 per week here, no more....not returning. Treat people better, try harder and do a better job !!! read more

Sofia at the woodland location in the meat department is phenomenal at customer service. After a horrible experience at another Escondido Albertsons in a different department... I was a little hesitant to continue business with this particular chain. All it took was one person to turn that around.. I went to the deli for roast beef and she didn't hesitate to greet me and lete know it will be a minute. I think it's always important to let the customer know that they see you and to communicate she proceeded to wash her hands use fresh gloves and ask my preference on the cut and after telling her I wanted the roast beef thin sliced she shaved off the first few and discarded them which had me confused i told her im fine if its not perfectly sliced. She turned around to show me the discoloration and said she was looking for the nice red center rather than the pale off colored slices she threw away. Which shows the importance of selecting the premium cut to ensure customer satisfaction and top quality. she also directed me and accompanied me to where my next item was coming out from behind the deli counter. I've been in customer service for many years since I was 16 years old I'm 34 now and I always look for these things I didn't find one thing that could have been better she was exceptional and she is an exceptional worker and I hope she doesn't go unnoticed and is rewarded for her outstanding knowledge and service thank you so much Sophia you're amazing. To some they may find this review dull or not a big deal, but for me it's the small things and the attention to tiny details. One small encounter also saved a long-term relationship between customer and the business in a whole. And the beauty in it is that she had no idea how huge this was. read more

The amount of EXPIRED food on the shelves is wild! Every single time I come to this location...I find several items that have EXPIRED! Check your food when buying here to make sure it's not already EXPIRED. I have found the framer John bacon expired , hot Cheetos popcorn expired Sept 23 , 2025. Today is Oct 8, 2025. Other items I've found expired/pass there "best by date " to name a few Breakfast biscuits cinnamon Pizza hot pockets Parmesan cheese Bread These are just a few off the top of my head. read more

Greatly improved. Layout modernization. No more panhandlers. Close Up Parking. Store now seems attuned to its more classy instead of least classy customers as it was a decade ago. Checkers seem friendlier on balance, although sometimes there are not enough. Good place to pick up a fast meal already prepared. read more

I made a quick stop to buy some flowers. As I approach my destination I realized I forgot to grab my money I had requested during my checkout. I called the store and Alyssa answered my call, her professional voice gave me hope and sure enough she knew exactly who I was. She asked me if I bought roses and I immediately got excited, I said yes with a huge smile. She said i was hoping you would come back, I have your cash here and sure enough 2 hours later she was there with my money. The food expires very quickly. Always check the expiration dates. It is nice because there is a Starbucks inside and a great deli.

Accessibility: accessible/handicap parking spots across from the front entrance, one or two motorized shopping carts plus regular shopping carts and baskets available. Doors to enter the building are motion-activated and it is air conditioned inside the store. Restrooms inside have a larger, accessible stall. Experience: normally Albertson's is a little pricey so I don't shop here but lately they have had great deals! I got buy one get one free eggs (carton of 12 each), and they had other frozen foods for as low as 1 dollar! Love that. I'll definitely come back with those kinds of deals. There is a person, I think his name is Mike B., short, middle aged, glasses, white, mustache, who works in the produce area. He also meanders around the store quite a bit. I have had a very bad experience with him before where he loudly was singing right in my ear, and when I asked him to stop so I could hear my wife he loudly shouted at me. He's still here, shouting very strange things at/near people as he walks around. When I was in on Saturday, he was right inside the front door when we walked in, and gave me a very weird stare. He then walked a few feet over and stood there. When my wife and I walked by, he looked at us and said very loudly "I'm the new sheriff in town!" There was another employee standing nearby that didn't seem to know what to say and looked uncomfortable. This guy is a liability and I cannot be the only person he's made feel uncomfortable. It's baffling that he's still there and with no improvement to his behavior. It seems this is who he is and Albertsons is fine with that. read more

I went to the Albertsons deli at 5:30 pm to get chicken. They were all out. At 5:30!! This has happened before. I'm disgusted with the lousy service at this Albertsons. No staff in the deli. Obviously poor management. I hate to make a trip there for a family meal and constantly find that they are out of product. Today I paid for an order to be delivered between 6-8am. I waited and then received a message in the app that the order was undeliverable. As in no one was home. Which was a lie. I was home recieved no call or text and have checked the delivery directions I have on the app are correct. But they must not of even been read. And to make it even worse I then received a picture of where my groceries were delivered. That is not my front door!! I have no idea where that front door is. This was so frustrating. But I learned today after speaking to the manager at the closest Albertsons is that it is not the store where the groceries were delivered from. And I am finding it difficult to understand why I am ordering groceries from a store that does not show up in the app for me. It might be the store on San Marcos Blvd. I live on Woodland Parkway. The manager said he isn't even seeing this in his system. Is this the proper system or is it something that needs to be changed. Please fix this!! read more

First and last time we come to this Albertsons We moved closer to this center but we will stick to our old one. We waited 10+ mins for the butcher block to come we ding the bell they have, 2 employees passed without acknowledging us then I heard on the overcom "meat dept " still no one came we waited another 5 min then we decided to pay what we had in our hand. Now as we're paying I asked the cashier Enrique is there no one at the meat dept he said yes I even called I'm like yea but no one showed up but there was someone helping out someone before us and then he walked away. He stayed silent. Not even a "im sorry would you like me to call someone or something!" I understand if you're short staffed but at least get someone. Staff is so rude. I had gone to several different stores today looking for a 24+lb Butterball turkey and had absolutely no luck. Thought I'd try one more store before calling it a day. Walked into Albertsons off Woodland Parkway feeling a little stressed.... Went straight towards the meat department to find some Butterballs but they were no larger than 14 lbs. I was starting to really feel that. Wasn't going to be able to get one...... then I see a nice young man walking towards me that worked in that department snd he asked if he could help. I told him I was desperate to find a 24+lb Butterball turkey. He said he'd go in the back snd see if he could find one for me. I asked his name.... He said Connor! Minutes later Connor came out with a 25 lb Butterball for me!!! I almost started crying! Ha ha! This young man went out of his way to help me today & was so happy to do it! I will come back to this store just for Connor! It's been a long time since I've received over the top customer service! Kudos to an amazing team and Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you again! read more

We had issues with our payment and the guy was very rude ( slammed his fist on the cash machine, put his not gloved hand into our bag). Alyssa the cashier can learn a thing or two from the more younger cashiers here. I'm a regular and every time I have to have an interaction with her it's been unpleasant. The way she barks at the baggers right in front of customers is appalling. (And she was even in the wrong during an incident! But of course she won't own up to that). When I went to reach out for my receipt she literally went past my hand and smacked it on to the counter right below the higher counter meant for customers so I had to reach around. Seriously, what was that about. And the seconds she took to individually pick up my bottles of wine to get it out of the way for the next customers stuff she could have placed them in the plastic bag next to her to help her bagger. Just the small things is getting to be irritating. She is way different than the other much more friendlier cashiers that I love talking to and I only reasons I keep coming back. Okay, I know grocery stores have certain "practices" for keeping produce "fresh"... but at least try to not make it obvious. I've tried about 4 times now, all with the same conclusion. The strawberries are frozen and red when you buy them if you go early enough. As soon as they defrost, they go brown and mushy in front of your eyes. The lettuce also does this; i'm sure there's more but I won't be finding out. Bottom line: Lower the prices or give us food worth what we're being charged. read more

Worst experience this morning! Went to buy some batteries for my business, and a couple other things. I start walking to the first aisle and someone is stocking up and some worker name Johnny tells him something about batteries, but I didn't mind it, than I go to the soda aisle and the same guy Johnny walks to that aisle after and his telling the other workers "oh she's going to steal some batteries, so at the point I'm super uncomfortable so I confront him, and his like "why are you listening to my conversation ", his words were pretty loud for me to hear across the aisle. "He tells me go pay for your batteries". Please pull up the cameras we're you see me trying to put some batteries in my purse. It was just an uncomfortable morning. Although I do not usually write reviews, I had to make sure that this review shines a light on the great people that work in this Albertsons. Specifically, I wanted to give a special shout out to Stephen in the meat department. He was very helpful in assisting me with putting together over 12 ready-to-eat meals, something that I sorely missed ever since they removed it from the shelves. Although I was severely disappointed their untimely removal, Stephen was more than happy to help me in putting these meals together. Furthermore, he was very helpful in giving me advice as to what would be the best options to pair with my meals as well as sound advice as to the preparation and cooking of these meals. Shutting the fryers down before 7pm? That's just ridiculous, I would've been fired for that when I worked at Albertsons.

The bagger with the long hair is incredibly unprofessional and kinda annoying. I think he might be a checker because I thought I saw him checking at one point.. but every night the staff seems like they're having one big party, and the customers are not invited. Tonight around 9pm he was holding a loud, sort of rude / inappropriate personal conversation with the checker. He was talking about his latest workout. Apparently he had gone on a workout with a different coworker and was bragging about it to the checker. Then he started doing push ups on the edge of the check stand. At one point he mentioned how much he can bench press but I do not remember the amount. He stopped to briefly ask me if I wanted bags, then he went back to doing push ups on the check stand and talking the checker's ear off. He did not stop talking about working out. I felt like I was interrupting their deep conversation about personal fitness. When I was walking out of the store I looked back and HE WAS STILL TALKING! As if there were no customers. There was a line and he only took breaks do push ups on the edge of the check stand or ask people if they wanted a bag. The other day, and I am pretty sure this was the same person, he asked someone "do you want bags, bruh?!" Literally that is word for word how he is addressing customers. Calling them bro. Positives? The produce is great. They have a huge selection of keto ice cream. The customer service just drives me crazy. read more

OH ALBERTSONS YOU'RE DYING!! When I was fist married I lived in the apartments across the street and would push my now 13 year old daughter there in her stroller for a quick outing and lunch. It was thriving then but, now its like walking into a funeral home. The prices are not good, the deli is as dead as the limp food behind the cases and, there was NO one at the registers but one dim light when I went to check out. When the manager saw there was a line forming she got a cashier and, why oh why albertsons do you think people only want to use the self service lines? Yes, I think another chain is in the process of being just a memory of the hub I would go to with a cool VHS section and decent prices. I will only come in now when it's is the closest thing on the way home, and I need one item. Even then I might get depressed. Edited to add: I saw more action at the starbucks located inside then any of the empty aisles. Thinking thats the only reason doors are still open. read more

If I could, I would give the Albertsons location on San Marcos Blvd, corner RSF Road zero or negative stars - quite the opposite to the one we have on San Elijo Road. A few days before Thanksgiving, we bought a huge ribeye roast, about 22 pounds. About 3 days after we had bought it, we took it out of the butcher wrapping paper and noticed a strange odor coming from the roast. We called Albertsons and were asked to return the product. About 12 hours later, my husband went to the store for the return. In the meantime, I had started to prepare a turkey instead. I didn't even think about anything, thinking my husband would come home with a refund back to my credit card or at least a store gift card. But noooooooo.... They told him that he needed to get exactly what we had bought before, so he was assured that it was store policy that he HAD TO get another huge roast again. I was very upset when he came home with another roast, this time still in shrink wrap. This one weighed in at about 25.20 pounds, regular price at $10.99 pound was $276.75. Since our previous roast was a little lighter due to being trimmed and due to not having had to pay for the heavy duty plastic wrap, my husband was seriously asked to pay an additional $20. I called the store and was told the store manager was not there. So I filed a complaint online on the Albertsons website. That was on November 25, 2020. We waited a couple of days, and since we had not heard back and were assured the store would "eventually" get back to us. We decided to open the heavy duty shipping plastic on the roast and cut and freeze it. It turned out there was a reason why we had to pay an additional $20 - we had about 3 pounds of excess fat on that roast, and that is the fat beyond the normal fat needed. Plus the shipping plastic - they took our additional money to pay for trash. Nice... Ever since then, I am being stalled and mocked by Albertsons customer service. The store manager NEVER called us. In one of the emails from customer service, they seriously had the audacity to tell me that the store insisted that someone had called us on 11/28 an on 11/29. Very strange, as my phone records do not show any incoming calls on both days from an Albertson store. Instead, I had to send them my phone number again per email. So I did. I repeatedly asked for the name of the so-called "manager" at that location as I have never in my life experienced such bad or rather non-existent customer service, but the answer to that question that I must have asked 3 times now per email is being avoided. After at least 7 or 8 more emails form me, always inquiring when I would be contacted, even requesting to be contacted via email, I am still waiting to hear from anyone over at that store site. In one emails I was told that the store refused to communicate via email. It had to be via phone. I wonder why that is? So that there is no trace of any communication? I avoided Albertsons since that day completely. I do not do business with a store that treats customers like that. Shame on them, and shame on corporate to have such incompetent management in place there. read more

I've never been to a grocery store where the courtesy clerk doesn't bag my groceries and tells the cashier he's going out to get carts.....I don't mind bagging my own groceries but isn't that part of the job.....lol. My wife HATES having to go here, we normally spend a good hour between the deli wait and the long lines. I understand stores get busy, we frequent this Albertsons for the service deli, there's an Vons we could go to but the price is much better here. I went by myself to get some cold cuts. Jonah was helping me out, he acknowledged me as soon as I pulled up to the service deli even though he was helping another customer out. I asked if I could have the meat sliced thinner than usual, he then let me know that they slice the meat at 1 and he would cut the meat at a .5, he let me see the slice before doing the rest. 5 stars for Jonah! read more
