**** CASH ONLY****…read more Haven't been his patient for too long. So I'll just get a review of what I think so far. The doctor is a pretty decent doctor who listens to your symptoms and sit with you while you talk and he charts. ****Big Negatives**** If you want the doctor to sign paper work for time off work or disability, don't count on it!! You'll have to PAY COPAY to visit him and just to SIGN PAPERS!! Had to do that a couple times because he wouldn't sign and his office workers told me they'll do it but didn't. They even said to come and PAY TO GET THE DOCTOR TO DO HIS JOB. ********** Lots of Chinese patients. Be prepared to wait 30+ minutes even when you have an appointment. I wouldn't go when it's in the mornings. All the elderly patients go from 9am-12pm. Be prepared to wait 1+ hour on a Monday 1 or Saturday!! Hours are a bit odd. There's a 2 hour that the whole office takes lunch so you won't be able to reach anyone or call in for anything until they reopen at 2pm. Also, some days office only open until 12pm!! Office staff are young females. Some knows mandarin some don't. The office size is small with only 14 seats waiting seats. Old looking and feeling seats. Office feels like it's really old and very cramped!

I am writing this review after a deeply upsetting and unprofessional experience during my recent…read morefollow-up appointment. I was called in to discuss blood test results, but the appointment quickly devolved into a confrontation because I had not yet completed two routine screening tests (Mammogram and Pap test), which I delayed due to a recent family emergency. Instead of courteously discussing my situation or checking on my well-being, the doctor accused me of being uncooperative. He was visibly upset and--without any discussion--he abruptly stormed out of the room, leaving the nurse to speak to me instead. The nurse's attitude was equally dismissive. She doubled down on the accusation of non-compliance, stating I should change doctors, and added that I hadn't taken a previously prescribed medication. When I stated I had no record or notification of that prescription, she simply declared it was "not their fault" and effectively ignored my attempt to clarify a misunderstanding. The lack of care and courtesy was shocking. Patients should expect compassion and an effort to understand their individual circumstances, not to be treated like a child being reprimanded by an old-fashioned school faculty for "bad behavior." I understand now why this office has received so many negative reviews. There are many excellent, compassionate family doctors accepting new patients. I strongly advise anyone seeking respectful care to avoid this practice.

Dr. Chang and the staff at Star Health Medical are highly professional and caring. As an undergrad,…read moreI had the opportunity to shadow Dr. Chang over the summer and witnessed his commitment toward his patients and his students. He is exceptionally knowledgeable, dissecting questions at different angles for his students/residents. He is also highly compassionate toward his patients. Whenever patients hesitate to take an annual scan out of fear, he would always encourage them to overcome their fear and inform them of the significance of regular screening. After my shadowing experience at SHM, I recommended Dr. Chang to my mom. As a first-gen immigrant, my mom has always been very anxious about seeing doctors in the US. But after her visit, she said Dr. Chang was very patient and informative. He insisted that my mom do a mammogram despite having done one back in China 6 months ago. The most recent mammogram reveals that there are suspicious masses! But thankfully, we were able to bring the situation under control due to early discovery. As a pre-med student, the shadowing experience was educational and encouraging. He is a fun and approachable guy and thoroughly answered all my questions about med school and application. As a family member to his patient, we are thankful for his professionalism and compassionate communication. I highly recommend Dr. Chang!

Oh, please. If there's a zero star, the NP deserve a zero star. I was calling them today like 3…read moretimes regarding my mom's lab results. They keep saying: "oh, we're busy right now, we'll calling u back." It never happens. All lies. Zero calls back. Worst one, the NP was yelled and didn't even want to listen to the complain, and hung up. Waow! What a service! Super epic. They called, inform about "something" that wasn't a clear instruction, and wanted us to check with a neuro specialist. How to communicate with the next doctor, if the instruction I received wasn't clear? If u inform something to someone, and someone communicate it to someone else, and it became unclear what do you want, cannot give response back, get the hell out pls. Do it yourself. Don't care what u want anymore. When I asked, "nicely"... their response was: oh, we're VERY busy right now, we WILL call you back. PRETT!! "Liar!" And the NP was saying: "don't u understand that we're VERY BUSY!!" "You need to listen to me!" (When she's the one NOT listening!) (After I called 3x and waited for them to call back like almost 8 hours???) Don't u think I AM NOT BUSY MA'AM? I was "too busy" waiting for your response, just to ask, what do u want from the neuro? From the kidney doctor? What the hell u want? Explain it nicely, not so complicated ma'am "busy-in-the-world." I'm sure the doctor is a nice person, but NOT the ma'am NP! She's a fucking bullshit!!! Not a profesional at all. They tend to hanging up their phone OR just blocked u into a busy line, so when u called them, NOONE (like literally noone) will pickup the phone OR listen to your voicemails. Their phone is broken, just like their heart is broken. Probably, just come to their busy office, and see how "busy" they are blocking people's phones call to make a very QUIET room. Wow!! Applause to their profesionalism. That's how they got their profesional degree. Just blocking people's phone, and do prescription till their patient's kidney is broken.

I often come out of there asking why I went to see him (convenience? history? stupidity on my part?…read moreprobably all of the above). Every time I see him, I feel like I could have given a better diagnoses on myself, the only advantage he has over me is he can write prescriptions. Hence my visit today. I need a California prescription in order to see a PT because my NY one is not valid (like many others, this is just another stupid law). I tell him about my torn ACL and how I had surgery and his following question was "ACL, what is that?" ................... First question that came to mind was "really? who's the doctor here?" I understand he's no orthopedist, but really? He then pulls out a prescription pad like those they write for drugs and writes on the pad "Physical Therapy, ACL + MMR" without what kind of exercises needed or types of therapy. My visits each time with him reminds me of if SNL had a skit, it'd be about a family doctor and no matter what the problem is from a scratch in the skin, to broken bones, to people that need surgery the doctor would write a prescription for everything! Don't get me wrong he's super friendly like Robert mentioned, but that's the only reason my review was 2 stars at not 1.
