As soon as I got there the employee that just started his shift started staring at me and swearing while I was just looking for an empty machine. I finally found one (since 3/4 of them arent working) and as I closed the door he screamed dont slam the door! I didnt answer, once I got all of my stuff cleaned and went to leave, he literally said FUCKING CUNT. I'm not sure whos in charge of the place but this arrogant needs to get FIRED! It was exactly today on Sunday at exactly 3:20 pm. I tried calling to talk to a manager or anyone in charge and hes not even fit to answer the phone or unlock both doors. Usually, I have a good experience when I go to a laundry mat. I have done laundry all of my life; in fact, my first experience at Albert's on St. Catherine West in Montreal was not bad. The second time they shorted me $4.25 and blamed me. I was asked to use more expensive machines. The quality was still mine and bright, dark and cold, crisp white. This, my third experience was terrible. The usual people were not there, and Albert, the woman who had run it, had told me to have her supervise the change machine because it was faulty, and to press the coin return repeatedly, on the second round. I went to speak with the person who sat at Albert's back desk, but he told me that if I was asking him to do anything, I didn't like the place, he didn't want anything to do with me, and that I should leave and go elsewhere. Other customers complained as I was leaving that they had also been abused and mistreated? Were they his friends waiting to see how badly the stranger danger would mistreat my family and friends for generations past and to come? I don't know. Was he just pretending to run the business? Did he know the owners? Were my kids and the kids of the mostly black community families safe? Did he have a complaint or something that had gone wrong? Someone who can afford to claim this business should do so and take it over immediately, and open a second laundry mat in the area. The current situation is unacceptable. Despite a whole crew of bicycle officers in the park up the street, I wasn't even permitted to report. The officer didn't have a computer. read more

beware of the dryers! even if the angry guy tells you you can use a dryer, your dryer will not dry properly no matter how many minutes you dry!! 2$ washing machine have disgusting hair, grainy detergent and other punk avoid at all cost for those that can only do their laundry/drying there, avoid eye contact with yelling weekend angry guy with anger issues dont ask attendant to help you out, ask another customer they are MUCH nicer read more

My laundry was misplaced. The man working there told me to come back in a few days when the other employee was in. I asked him if he could please keep looking and he just snapped. He became extremely agitated and violent. Started yelling, slamming things and calling me names. I was so scared, I left. The concierge from the hotel who recommended Albert's to me called him. She said he had calmed down and found my laundry and said it was safe for me to go back. As soon as I arrived to pick it up, he went crazy all over again. He tore open the laundry bag and starting throwing the laundry and screaming at me. At some point he broke a pen and put it in the laundry bag like a complete psycho. Another customer asked him to calm down and he yelled at him to shut up and mind his own business. This guy is a total lunatic. Stay away especially if you are a woman who is alone. read more

Terrible experience there! My $20 bill was swallowed in the changing machine in the store, and I had to come back as instructed to collect the money. The employee yelled at me when I was only trying to explain the situation. I told him to calm down, he got even more angry, smashed the door and threw things. And told another customer who was trying to help me to "shut up your mouth and do your own laundry!" I have never encountered such a rude person in Canada! read more

This is a no-frills laundromat with rock-bottom prices. Do not expect anything fancy. The equipment is pretty basic, and a lot of machines are out-of-order (though these are clearly marked), but the prices more than make up for it. WASHERS They have about a dozen top-loading washers (only about half of which work), and they are a bargain at $1.25 per load. There are about 20 front loaders (most of which work), and they are a cheap $2.00 per load. There are two "triple load" front loaders (only one of which was working) for $3.50 per load. As the $2.00 machines seemed to be of the "double load" size, you would really only want to use the triple load machine for oversize things like comforters, anyway. DRIERS There are maybe 30 or so driers, and they are 25¢ for 5 minutes. Maybe I had a bad drier, but my impression is that the driers don't get as hot as they do at most laundromats, as it took longer than usual to dry my laundry, even on the hottest seting. Even so, it's very difficult to beat the prices here. SOAP & AMENITIES They have a small vending machine for detergent, bleach, and fabric softener: $1.00 for each. There is no wi-fi (you might be able to get a weak connection from one of the neighbouring businesses/schools), but there chairs and a few tables in addition to the ample clothes-folding counters. The baskets for transferring clothes from the washing machines to the dryer are your standard plastic household baskets, and not the wheeled laundry carts some places have. HOURS They close at 10:00, but last load is really a little before 9:00. The entrance on St. Catherines seems to be closed/locked earlier than the entrance around the corner on Chomedy. read more

Is quite basic laundry.. does the job. Lost $5 in the change machine, i reported to the attendant; he was nice about it and he got me $5 in change right away. I believe is better to get change from the attendant as it looks like it happens perhaps more frequently . Perhaps it was my dryer. I found out is NOT very good. I already set it to High Heat... but if compared to laundry i use normally in Toronto... this one is less than half the efficiency. I ended up bringing cloths home still damp.. as I gave up.. is costing way too much for getting it 100% dry :( read more

The old man (short and bald) is extremely off-putting and rude. I was visiting Canada and came by to do some laundry. I asked him a few questions regarding and he proceeded to be rude and insulting. Stayed in a hotel in Old Montreal, and needed to do some laundry before heading out on a cruise. Took the Metro orange line to Berri UQAM. Hopped onto green line to the Atwater station. Walked 3-4 blocks to this laundry mat and found a clean, friendly place in a good neighborhood. Detergent took a $1.00 coin, the washer was $2, put in 8 quarters, although it does take $1 coins It was recommended to use quarters. Don't worry, there is a change machine that returns quarters. Dryer used 10 quarters - $2.50 - and we used medium heat. Recommend high if you are comfortable. Summary: safe, friendly, clean, great for visitors traveling to Montreal that need some clean clothes. read more
