Walters men fishing Alaska. First time ever. Fun Family Outing. ( FFO)

Alaska Fish on was a very professional outfitter our guide. Connor took us out and put us on the fish both days that he was with us. We were blown out two days of halibut fishing, but they worked their best to keep us on the water whether salmon fishing or found us another larger boat to go halibut fishing, we limited out. They were very helpful as far as getting us on the water, taking care of us while we're on the water and processing our fish, it was a one stop shop. They did a fantastic job. Thanks Connor thanks Kristen for making all the arrangements.

Gary and Darlene are are gracious hosts, they organized our entire trip, they are friendly people. They set us up on our fist days fishing for some Halibut out of homer, Diamond Cape with captain Clay & Deckhand youngster Henry. These guys were great, were personable, and excited to get us on the fish, and boy did they. All 6 of us on the boat limited out on halibut, only 2 salmon were caught, one by me. But all & all a great day of fishing with great people. My personal recommendation, stay the night in homer, fish on will alter the sleeping accommodations and allow you to stay the night in homer, saves you from having to wake up super early and dive almost 2 hours. That evening we drove to their camp in Kenai, they have 3 cabins that sleep up to 7 people. They also have rooms in their larger lodge, the views are amazing from the lodge. They have coin operated laundry machines which really help a ton. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with plates & cooking utensils, bring your own spices etc. Beds are super cozy, windows are pretty well blacked out, helping to make it appear as night time, only 3-4 hours of darkness, crazy. The cabins are pretty cozy, new and very clean. The cabin is pretty well sound proof, and very well insulated. The heater kicks butt. Day 2 and 3 of fishing was on the Kasilof river with guide J.D. he's a good dude, very passionate about getting us some salmon, we were there early in the season, and weren't that lucky but that's okay, he was a solid dude, worked hard for us. Only 4 salmon were caught by prob over 20 boats within two days, maybe more. One of the guests that was with us day one of river fishing, she caught prob a 30" steelhead, beautiful fish, just a little early in the season for salmon. Ask to be placed with J.D. on the river, tell J.D. Sam the Plumber from California sent you. He's a cool guy. Alaska fish on offers fish processing, vacuum sealed and flashed frozen, they provide an airline approved container so you can ship your fish back, we only caught 1 small salmon, but I heard from the grapevine that they may be sending some salmon back with us anyways. Couple of other things, I wanted to fry some cod I caught, it was delicious, Gary brought me coals and lighter fluid so I didn't have to stink up the house, was able to do it out on the outdoor bbq grille. I really cant think of one negative thing to say about the entire experience, this was my first time to Alaska, and they made it memorable, I'm considering bringing my kids back on another future trip, and I'll defiantly use their services once again. Invest in your memories, let them set it up for you,Great job!

The Kernan's are awesome and their crew out of homer is world class. Got us right into the fish, poles were going crazy! Definitely recommend and will be going again!

We came to Alaska to fish for salmon and Alaska Fish On Charters helped make it an experience to remember. Gary and Darlene treated us like family. Darlene booked us at the Quality Inn in Kenai. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The workers were extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast buffet was more than sufficient. Our fishing guides were great. The lessons they gave to us novice fishermen ensured that we had fun and that we caught fish. This is something that we will never forget, and we have Gary, Darlene, and our fishing guides to thank for the memories.

If your looking for 3-7 days of fishing action, this is a one stop shop. They offer hike in fishing, fly fishing off the banks of either the world famous Kenai river or Kasilof river. They can take you deep sea / salt water fishing too.. We killed the halibut... Limiting out in under 2 hours. We stayed in one of their cabins just 75' off the Kasilof river. Record breaking Salmon in Kenia and Kasilof rivers. Brian (guide) was the best guide I have every had the pleasure of meeting (safe, knowledgeable and new exactly where the fish were) We limited out three different days (first day 90 min, second day under 60 min, third day 120 min). Eagle Head Lodge was also amazing, clean lots of space to fish the river from the docks, Jerry (host) super helpful with everything we needed. Rooms were clean and well stock with everything you will need for a great vacation\fishing trip. Fly out trip was amazing, not many fish but the location was amazing. Also lots of Bear watching from the boat. Safe float plane flights with a pass over the glaciers, great photos. Jessica, is a scheduling wizard. She make sure everything is taken care of perfectly. Super helpful. Only things we will not book again was the Salt Trip. There may be better options in the area for more professional staff. All around amazing trip, hopefully we will be back up in Alaska in 2027

Russell Fishing Company and Eagle Head Resort (immaculately maintained) are a great combination…read more Eagle Head, owned by Jerry Johnson, provided waterproof gear, waders, ice, lunch coolers and much hospitality. Both did a Fantastic job of satisfying our every need on our recent trip to Alaska. On the Kasilof River, we caught our limit each time of beautiful, large Coho Salmon (silver Salmon) with the guides Mike and Pops. We fished the Kenai River with Brian one afternoon and did very well also. Jessica did a great job communicating with and serving us! Sometimes, the weather can change your schedule but, she was very flexible accommodating our wishes. We also fished out of Homer on two occasions with Badger at the helm and reeling faster than anyone I've ever seen. He worked amazingly hard with his first mate, Mike. We caught Halibut, Yellow-eye Red Snappers, Black Cod and a Huge Ling Cod! We threw back many small Halibut but came away with some nice 20-30 pounders. All in all, we brought home 104 pounds of filets. Enough to last us for two years (LOL)! This was our second trip with Russell Fishing and Eagle Head. Both were the very best!! We did notice that our fishing results seemed to be better than other boats. I have to give full credit to the Top-Notch guides we had. Thank you Jessica, Russell Fishing and Jerry Johnson at Eagle Head!! Anne and Jim Waddell
