This is my peace and serenity hang out even if for a few minutes break during my semi regular bike ride while visiting the city of Kenai. it is never crowded and I am always alone for the half a dozen times or so that I have visited. Beautiful view of the mouth of the world famous Kenai River as it drains into the Cook Inlet of the Pacific Ocean. I have not come in July but came here in September and October but know it would be madness during the heavy sockeye run especially when they open it up for dip netting. Now that would be a great show! Worth a visit!

When we got here, we were very impressed with the size of the playground! It was large, had lots of things to kids to climb and play on and overall it was great! The park also had some open areas and other things, but for us the highlight was the playground. It seems like it would also be a good place for a picnic. If I was here again and my kid wanted to play at a playground, I would definitely stop here.

After spending some time at the playground, we took a stroll near the water. The views here are gorgeous! Our walk was nice, enjoyable, and relaxing. We liked this playground so much that we stopped here twice - once on the way to Homer and another time on the way back.

Felt like an RV more so than a motel room....too cramped. $165/night....mehhhh. Location is great for dip netting. The check in guy was so lack luster. He didn't exhibit the type of hospitality I felt characteristic of places that charge that much for a closet space. Staff did respond quickly to requests and check out guy was warmer than the initial guy. They have some $250/night cabins shoved onto the parking lot and tightly packed RV lot. I guess I'd say...bravo on maximizing every square inch to make $$$! I would definitely look for a more spacious spot next time I'm in the area. I like to be able to stretch my arms and legs without hitting a wall.

There is a bathroom, small fridge and queen bed. The views are amazing. It may be less crowded because dip net season just ended a few days ago but we didn't feel overcrowded. I don't know why everyone is complaining, it lists what you get for the price online. The owners are the quiet type but were very accommodating. I wouldn't say it's a 5 star hotel but it was 5 stars in that it offered what it advertised, was clean and comfortable. It seems like most of the complaints are from the RV park users. If you're a mature adult and enjoy a quiet camp with a beautiful view I think you'd be happy here. It's not a 20's something party spot.

Since everybody knows about this place, it's hardly a secret so there's definitely combat fishing during the high season. If you get there early you can enjoy some serious fishing and it's a great place to relax and enjoy Alaska.

This isn't your typical outfitter. Not only do they focus on the fishing, but they make sure EVERYTHING is taken care if for you. No need to haul your gear from home, just show up and you'll use their top-end equipment from Orvis, Simms, etc. Their guides are absolutely top notch. The guys put us on the fish each day, cleaned our catches and took it to the processor for freezing and shipping without a blink. You can tell the owners take care of them; not much turnover and the guides speak highly of the place. The food is outstanding! JR and his team knocked it out of the park with each meal, and there's never a shortage of wines and cigars to go along with the great food. What else can I say.....TRL gives you a perfect combination of great fishing, awesome food, big laughs and amazing value.
