But 2 min later a young girl who had to ask what my item was and still had no idea proceeded to tell me what it would sell for even after I was looking for a loan. So I was stereo typed and insulted after I had said yes to a price she hits me with a number that is so low that I could not believe it. She was rude very snide and seemed happy To know I would not make my payment knowing I could not take that price even as a loan. I would not let them touch it for that price.: all in all. I would use anyone besides them

Took in a tablet to sell, they told me they're only selling for $75 on ebay (which seemed off, as i'd looked before i went in and the model i had was going for $100-$120). They told me they could only give me $25 as they would only be able to sell it for $50. I tried to negotiate, they weren't having it, so i took the $25 and left. When i went back to ask for a receipt i noticed that they had tagged it for $96.99. When i pointed this out and said they had told me they could only sell it for $50, there was a lot of stammering, some excuse about the computer automatically picking and printing a price, that this was the "lower 48" price, etc. Like i said, i understand the nature of pawn shops, i just don't appreciate being blatantly lied to. Like i said, stick with the Spenard location, they will give you a fair price for your things and i've never walked out of there feeling like i got screwed over.

But I am moving to another country, and it wouldn't be practical to take it with me. I reached out to a number of Alaskan fine art galleries to see if they would consign the painting. Then I learned about Alaskan Premier Art Auctions and emailed them. Shawna Ashlock responded almost immediately to my inquiry and shared that they were just about to hold an auction of Alaskan artists and their original artwork. Shawna was both patient in explaining the auction end-to-end process, and enthusiastic in helping me get the large painting to Anchorage in time for the auction.
