My friends and I stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo near the beach and was looking for some good food. After walking along the beach, we decided to eat dinner at Alaorilla. The restaurant seemed okay. There was another family eating when we walked in. We really wanted some paella.
After being seated, we ordered a pitcher of sangria. When I tell you that the sangria was good! We drank maybe 3 pitchers of sangria between the four of us. Three of us ordered the paella to share. The fourth friend ordered a steak entrée.
We had salads before our paella came out. Let me tell you - I am not a fan of all of the ingredients that they put into a basic salad in Europe. The raw white onions and corn could be left off. Even so, my salad was decent and filling. We also had fried potatoes with some kind of sauce. So yummy!! We couldn't get enough of it.
The paella was tasty and it hit the spot. We couldn't finish all of it. I ate and ate until I was stuffed. Having the salad before the paella helped. I didn't feel guilty about eating so much rice.
It wasn't crowded; only our table and another table was occupied. However, the food and service was great! read more
