I was introduced to Eastside by the almighty groupon. They are mostly a podiatry clinic (read: foot…read moredoctor) but in the back they have a room with a couple of the massaging mani/pedi chairs we all know. Availability was slim due to the offer, but I managed to slide in on a quiet Thursday afternoon. The staff were nice and I appreciated them letting me quietly read while they went to work. I haven't read a book in weeks, so it was a nice change! The only feedback I have is that by calling that section The Foot Spa... I was expecting a more relaxing experience. Instead it was kind of, well, clinical. But the staff were skilled and kind... Thanks for the introduction, Eastside!

He wrapped one foot for a week for a wart after spraying acid in my foot which caused skin to peel everywhere but on the actual wart! I'm not going back! I spent $300 plus on nothing! But this visit was a completely different experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. It didn't feel transactional--it felt like someone genuinely wanted to help. I left feeling heard, understood, and more informed than I ever have about my foot issues. Researching podiatrist online, Dr. Carollo's reviews were absolutely stellar, so I decided to give her a try, hoping the reviews weren't too good to be true. They absolutely weren't! Dr. Carollo is such a genuinely kind and attentive doctor. She really listened to what I was experiencing with my foot and gave me several non-invasive options to try to heal an inflamed nerve. I'm happy to report after following her recommendation and getting custom orthotics the nerve has finally healed and feels back to normal. And as an added benefit the orthotics have helped some other foot and ankle fatigue I previously experienced after working out. A win-win! Also, as a side note, the classic music in the examine rooms adds such a calming atmosphere while you're waiting. Highly recommended!! The world needs more medical providers like Dr. Carollo!!

June 30, 2023 - Friday…read more Review #437 Last year in the Fall of 2022, my previous podiatrist from Associated Orthopedics of Detroit left the practice and he wasn't replaced. In March while working 8 hours a day on my feet, the joint pain came back especially painful at night. I was referred by my family Dr. Kavanagh in April to see a new podiatrist named Dr. Anthony Giordano. He has over 25 years experience in the medical field and is accepting new patients. My appointment was on June 14th. We chatted about my foot history, and he read over my medical forms that I completed in advance online. He went over my ex-rays and examined the joints in my toes. His answer and conclusion is that I have Arthritis starting. So I can say thank you to my Dear Mother. :-) Instead of a cortisone shot as in the past 3 years with my health issue he suggested a new type of injection treatment which is 3 weeks apart. It will slow down the wear and tear known as osteoarthritis and help replenish the joint. The fluid injection is called hyaluronic acid to provide a space filler to increase joint mobility reduce joint inflammation and help my big toe and feel better with less stiffness. So on June 14, 2023 I received it and I can say the pain is not as bad and tolerable and 2 more shots to go in 3 weeks. I will "keep it moving" by riding my bike or walking in which the pain does subside. My 2nd shot in the right foot joint area will be on July 11th, So - Oh Thank Heaven for 7-11 Slurpee Day. He informed Me that I will NOT need surgery since the bones are profound and no misalignment as seen on the ex-rays, just unhappy nerves. He has a Wonderful sense of humor which makes me laugh. The office is very welcoming and located on the 2nd floor of the Shelby Medical Mall on 50505 Schoenherr Rd. Shelby Township. (586) 580-3728 Hours: Monday - Thursday 9 AM - 5 PM Friday 9 AM - 12 PM Saturday and Sunday Closed I certainly will say that I am pleased to call Dr. Anthony Giordano my new Podiatrist. He has shown his caring and knowledge with a new treatment to try and help assist Me for walking in a correct, pain-free and happy direction! :-) Karen N. SpecialK
