I work in a legal department and work in contract law - yet it is still a bit nerve-racking to set up an appointment with a firm you do not know, even when it is a personal referral. Especially when the subject matter is not pleasant. I asked our custody attorney (who did a phenomenal job and was a beast in court) that we wanted someone like him - capable, strong, not afraid to be direct, not afraid of litigation, but most importantly who would look out for my interests. I can't stress enough how Michael Hopkins at Wengler checked all of those boxes. I immediately felt relief and through our discussions I knew I was in capable hands. He is direct, he is strong, and I feel as though he truly desires to protect my interests. My retainer was fair, and he took the time to explain how it worked - and my invoice so far has been fair and reasonable. I whole heartedly recommend Wengler Law Firm. For the first time since a family member created a major conflict and falsified information to their benefit, I feel at peace. Michael and his staff have created a safe space - and I am very grateful for their expert handling of my situation.

I will start this review by saying that I am not one to leave bad reviews for honest, hardworking…read morepeople and businesses - however, this is a time that I am making an exception. I was referred to Michael Overmann by a friend of my Mother's after my Father passed unexpectedly. He had no written will, therefore we needed to open a probate account to manage & distribute his assets. We also needed to appoint an administrator of the estate, which ended up being me. Upon reaching out to Michael, he was very responsive and gave us the base amount of information that we needed to get started, but that's about where it starts and ends. My family and I were VERY clear from the start that we knew little to nothing about this process, and would need to be walked through step-by-step, which we were assured by Michael that this would happen. Any time that I called (and he actually picked up), we were rushed off the phone without clear answers, AND THEN subsequently charged for the call on our final ledger. After the initial opening of probate, we went legitimately several months, after attempting to reach his office to close the account, without hearing back. It took me writing an email through his free consultation form on his website to get a message back. Along with the above issues, there were 2-3 instances where he either sent mail to a wrong address, or failed to make corrections to addresses, thus delaying court dates. We were not charged for the extensions thankfully, but due to my aforementioned lack of experience in this area, this created a lot more unnecessary stress on my end. I didn't even hear from him once the probate account was open. I had to search on the court records page myself to find out - the same situation occurred closing the account, even after I requested to be informed of these changes. I don't know if it was just because he knew that we were blindly going to pay him anyways, or that my Father's estate wasn't very big, but throughout the entire process, Michael and his office could not have been more apathetic towards my family and our needs, during what has been clearly an emotionally draining time in our lives. Again, I do not condone ruining business' ratings on Google/Yelp/etc, but I feel that my experience with Michael Overmann warranted this 1 star review. DO NOT hire Overmann Law to handle your estate or probate account. He may be better in other areas, or if you are richer than my family, but his work is not up to par compared to other *honest* lawyers that I could have given my money to.

Debbie, the resident paper pusher DOES NOT relay negotiating terms to the seller. We were buyers and knew our sellers. We had to work around to negotiate because all we got back from the "attorney" was NO. NO to everything almost killed the deal multiple times. Until the end when we found out that the sellers had a lien on their house. Debbie lied and legally signed off that there wasn't a lien. The house was not able to close because of the lien and my family is homeless. We found out the day of. No explanation, no apology, no empathy. Unfortunately when there is not an attorney working on your close things get missed. So hire an attorney. Not Debbie the paper pusher. I have other words for her but I will keep them to myself. Avoid this place like the plague. There are so many honest options and if someone is going to charge you $175 they cannot do the job. That's your first clue...a real attorney doesn't charge $175.
