I can honestly say, without hesitation or exaggeration, that Dr. Connie Burns saved my life. Further, she has been treating many of my friends and family members as well - I trust her implicitly. I was referred to Dr. Burns in 2007 and after a lifetime of being quite unwell. One Western M.D. after another told me there was no medical evidence for my ailments, or they told me I was crazy. However, they did not hesitate to prescribe me a series of medications designed solely to address my symptoms. So when I was introduced to Dr. Burns, my mind was open to taking a different approach to my health and wellness, and to doing my part to get healthy once and for all. By the time I was 35 I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, migraines, irritable bowel syndrome and polycystic ovarian syndrome with infertility, and I had lost the vision in the center of my right eye, among other things. Within two visits, Dr. Burns had a cause for most all of my ailments: food allergies. No other doctor in all those years had bothered to even test me for food allergies, despite the fact that I had asked several times if food could be a contributor. Dr. Burns explained to me how homeopathy works, how she works and what I could expect from her. She has never, ever let me down. She returns all phone calls within 24 hours, she is prompt for all appointments and she has made herself available to me outside of her normal business hours when needed. Dr. Burns really listens to what I have to say and continues to guide me and my family towards increasingly healthier lives. In fact, she diagnosed me with a thyroid infection that was mirroring the symptoms of a heart attack when my general practitioner and several specialists told me that I had a clean bill of health. If that infection had progressed much further, I would have been hospitalized. By the time I started working with Dr. Burns my body was so worn down by the food allergies that I was on death's door at least twice; since working with her I have only experienced improvement. I now live a very healthy and happy life, with much credit going to Dr. Burns. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

He was kind and personable, honored my choices about why I was declining a couple of tests he offered - although he was curious why I was declining. I thought he was a fine doctor. He said something that made me laugh. I was happy to get to see him today. His office is decorated nicely, which took some of the edge off being at the doctor's!

When I confronted him about that, after a team of ER doctors spent hours on me and I had a six day stay in ICU, he said I should have googled the medication. So I did. And I learned that he was to have been conducting quarterly blood tests. He never did a single blood test. That was the most dramatic and life-threatening of his errors or misses in my care, but there are others. Fortunately, I started relying heavily on specialists and they caught most of the things that Dr. Wolfe should have been doing, catching, and acting on. I would not trust him or any Practicioner at One Medical with my health. They seem too focused on attracting new members and securing insurance reimbursements, in my opinion, to have the bandwidth to adequately care for the needs of their existing patients.

I recently switched from 15 years with Kaiser, back to Blue Cross, so I had to replace about 10 docs and thank goodness for Dr. Wolfe! I met him last week for the first time and I was SO impressed. He's very knowledgeable, he's not intimidated by my questions (or all the "stuff" going on with me), he's open minded, he was a pain doc for 6 years (so he gets THAT part of my treatment) and overall, he's a very likable guy - I can't recommend him more highly (keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not putting him on a "too soon" pedestal - but I don't think so). The ONLY downsides are the whole "Med One" $200 annual fee for "special" things that really, all docs are offering now-a-days, and the fact that Med One isn't on either of the 2 main electronic medical systems in my area (UCSF and Sutter), so I have to make sure they get all my labs and doc notes from EVERY other doc....which in my personal case, is a big PITA. That being said, I really feel like I have a good doc now who can be the leader of my team and really help coordinate all my issues - before, it was only me, bringing things to docs and trying to figure it out on my own, so YEA!!!!

If you want a recommendation to say, physical therapy, it will take them 3 to 4 and sometimes five days to get it out. And they will probably insist that you come in to see them first which will mean you won't get your illness treated for a month. My advice, use Providence in Santa Rosa where there is more support for the doctors and more staff to support them. Like I said the doctors are good and caring people it's just at the organization and the place is the victim of what is happening to small doctors offices all around the country, poor service.
